Have you ever wondered what it might be like to switch from an iPhone to Android? In this video, I will give you an honest review of my new Samsung S23 Ultra-not just from the perspective of a consumer but from mine as someone who has spent years using only iPhones, and then switched over to Android within the last three weeks… What are the pros and cons?

It's interesting how when iPhone users switch to Android, they don't realize some of the benefits like 1 USBC cable for everything since iPhone is the only device using lightning, moving files to the phone doesn't require the use of itunes (but just like connecting to any external drive), being able to side load apps (many reasons to do this), setting up multiple instances of a messaging app. It's simply a case of they don't know what they don't know, and only see what's not there switching over from an iPhone
@bluegizmo1983
@bluegizmo1983 Год назад
Agreed. It's because iPhone users have been use to being told what they like and dislike, being told what they can and cannot have, being told they must use it this way because customizations are not allowed, etc. They are all so used to not being able to make choices and decide for themselves how to use and customize their devices.

Now getting that communication to an apple device is the problem through text and that's one of the reasons I'll never use their products again. I never got this "green bubble" problem. In fact, outside of the US most people use Whatsapp as the main message service, SMS comes in only when you exhaust your data plan or the network is collapsed (third world problem, I know). I believe 95% of people will do great with a mid-range phone, and I put my money on that. So my daily driver is a Galaxy A53. So far, it's been great.

So if you've managed to register the same finger 4 times, then there are three possible answers: 1) You register it in the wrong way, making it puzzle together the pattern in a weird way. 2) Your finger print is messed/scratched up from maybe working alot with your hands. Your correct about people being the biggest issue switching over. 95% of my contacts are imessage, and the apple mafia with the green text is real. I switched from the 14PM last week to the S23 Ultra, and the first text to people were why did you get a android? Why do I owe an explanation, why does it matter 😒 I really believe in American imessage is the reason most people stay with Apple. Five years ago most android were laggy 💩 In the last couple years Android, high end androids, are just as smooth and stable as ios I agree about the pill, it never bothered me until using this S23 Ultra for a week. Now when I pick up the iPhone it's a distraction. Watching movies and videos is so much better on the Samsung, it doesn't stretch going full screen like the iPhone. I do have a iPad Pro with the mini led screen, so I mostly watch movies on that. I wish the S23 Ultra had a flat screen. I'm torn honestly. I think if you don't have any other Apple products S23 Ultra all the way. I think this Samsung is the better phone, is it a additional 1300 dollars better then the 14PM I just bought 3 months ago. I have 30 days to return, if I do it will he based solely on financial benefits. I think it's the better phone over all.

My S22 Ultra could never recognize my right thumb, but the S23 Ultra does about 50% of the time. Question about your Apple Watch Ultra with cellular: you said you get imessages on it, whereas you get all others on the S23U? Do the imessages eventually get sent to the S23U as a regular text message, or not at all? I'm trying to figure a way to enjoy my Watch Ultra while using my S23U.

iMessage unfortunately does not get to the S23. It's completely locked to iOS which is why this is going to be the biggest pain point when switching. For me it's a mild inconvenience since I work from home and I have apple devices everywhere. Otherwise theapple watch ultra with cell works well enough when I'm out. Btw, don't admit to the finger print scanner working less than perfect lest the hardcore android folks crucify you 🤣
@Imprisoned1995
@Imprisoned1995 Год назад
Correct me if I'm wrong, when I switched from 14PM my Apple watch switched to a stand alone number, meaning the number wasn't connected to the S23 Ultra. Your cell phone number either has imessage activated, or it doesn't. If your watch is a big deal you'll need to stay on iphone, unless you want it to have a different number. Your iPad, Mac, all will quit getting imessage text if you switch from iphone.

I am a UX designer the only one on my team with an s22 ultra. I work with iOS everyday . Besides your mention of the fingerprint scanner (because it is user error on your part) everything you mention is true. 2 pre installed messaging apps, the time it takes for the the camera app to open up . These are just some of reasons why people think especially iphone users that android/Samsung is messy. Samsungs own icons need some major refinement. While iOS gallery icon is just a flower but it's beautifully done and iconic. While Samsungs still stuck in TouchWiz. On iOS the opacity, blurs and gradients that they use throughout thier system is just gorgeous. I'm glad you point out those details out because android fanboys don't seem to understand the psychology that goes into the work of designing icons. If you're trying to take pictures of your kids and they're moving around too much what you can do is turn on motion photo it'll basically capture like a 1-2 seconds of video along with the photo and so if it's blurry or anything you can just go back and pick a frame that is not blurry

It did what i wanted and didnt really miss the random customizing and such. I tried having both iphone and z fold 3 a year ago and kinda liked the fold but. Iphone still was a better size and camera and better feel. Now i saw the s23 ultra and thought, since many iphone youtubers are ditching their iphones for it i thought ok. Ill try before switching to iphone again. And. Damn. Only thing i miss is facetime/imessage due to friends. But other than that. Love this. Everything i missed the 2 first day was a user error. I had to google the sollution and now it does everything i want plus more

I have an iPhone 14 pro max and I have been using apple eco system for years. But I got an S23 ultra since I was really impressed by the expert raw (well, I am a photographer). I must say up to 10x the phone produces decent quality pictures. But after using it for, just less than 2 weeks, I am really disappointed because I have been having consistent WiFi issues. (And, having problems with bluetooth and LTE connectivity too, from time to time) I went to Samsung service centre (in Singapore) and all they could tell me was, "we are aware about the issues" and I (I guess every Samsung s23 ultra owner) must patiently wait until around June 2023 to get an update from Samsung to fix these issues. And the customer care guy gave me a "very valuable" advice that I should use only WiFi 5 and don't use WiFi 6. I have been using WiFi 6 for years now! (Everyone in Singapore does!) All my apple devices work perfectly with it. It's ridiculous that Samsung's flagship phone can't support WiFi 6. And I can't believe Samsung can simply get away like this. A smartphone is useless if it can't provide consistent WiFi/bluetooth/LTE connectivity. It's such a disappointment. I will never buy a Samsung phone again.

Let me know when you want to check out a z fold. The split screen or pop apps, teams call on one side and any other app you have on the other. Or top and bottom which ever you prefer. And if you had a windows machine there's link to windows where you can call, text, open any app you want all on your pc but it's virtually your phone. By the way it's coming the Mac too. Yes some of the apps are buggy and missing features that iPhone has which annoys but I blame Apple and the different android launchers from all the phone manufacturers. Should all just have vanilla Android. PS: I have some unopened galaxy buds 2 you can try with your new s23 ultra.

I was an Apple user until the Note 10+ came out.. Not a great camera but it was a great phone! Now I have the S22 Ultra which has become great in 2023, the Tab S7+ & the Watch 5 Pro. Never had an issue since I switched & not going back. If you've held 1 iPhone? You pretty much held them all. It's a great marketing technique by Apple because they take your old 12 & turn it into a 14 & resell it brand-new.. Same with Samsung

It's cute that you think the split-screen and pop-out view are experimental features. In fact, Samsung implemented those features in their OS way before Google or Android did, back during the S5. They pretty much pioneered those features, and now I can't live without them. Quick Story: the other day at the doctor's appointment, I used split screen. The top part was my old blood test results. the bottom part was my new blood test results. Instead of focusing on me, the doctor started fiddling in his iPhone 14 pro max, trying to find that feature. 😂😂😂 Sad and funny at the same time.

Thanks for the video. Tried iphone 13 after a decade on android. After 9 months I upgraded early to an S23 plus. I just kept running into things that iphone can't do. The absence of a status bar alone drove me nuts. Face unlock was the only thing on the phone that I really liked but I hated that notch on the iphone. There are Android phones that have face unlock with the additional 3D and IR sensors like iphone but I never owned one of those Androids. On my s3 I just disabled face unlock and used the fingerprint sensor. It works great for me. You just have to have a compatible screen protector, apply just a tad more pressure and make sure you do a good job of adding the fingerprint in the settings. I have a success rate of about 90-95%. If it doesn't read my fingerprint I just press again. Its not that big of a deal for me. You mentioned you love the extra real estate without that big ugly iphone notch. That notch is for the additional sensors that make iphone face unlock work so well. If you want smooth seamless face unlocks like on iPhone then you have to give up some space on your screen.
