"To listen is too lean in softly, with a willingness to be changed from what we ear".

When listening, ask yourself: (1.) What is my agenda? (2.) Am I really here? (3.) What am I trying to control? ______________________________ "To listen is to lean in softly with a willingness to be changed by what we hear." -- Mark Nepo _______________________________ Listening helps us to unfold like flowers in the sunlit rain. Listening is a practice of letting go, a meditation for every moment. When we listen, we hear our joys and sorrows. We hear ourselves in others and others in us.

Considering that so many interactions today happen online, with people not even looking at or hearing each other, that is a recipe for the Unholy Art of Non-Listening. The book she mentions sound amazing and I just placed a hold on it at my library. Grateful for the suggestion! The part she read stopped me in my tracks and made me cry. (A minor aside perhaps, as I really like this woman, but her sibilant "S" make for painful listening (I am having to use earphones because I live in a very noisy place). They could have fiddled with the sound to eliminate that.)

Thank you Tara Brach, she has been a blessing at these difficult times. And thank you for this course, it's helping me (and helping all the people I am trying to be a support for). Happy Christmas and greetings from London :)

Fix. Prove. With communication, we strive for something this interferes with presence. Yes😉
