This is the next show that we need. The battle of the trident and Robert’s rebellion. Rhaegar & Lyanna , the Mad King , young Ned & Robert , the rise of all those great houses , and the fall of the greatest dynasty , Targaryens. If you ask me , that would be one of the best stories within this series.
It would only be good if HNO/MAX gave the season a great budget. If they only gave them half a budget it’ll be like the HOTD is now. Where it could be better
I found this video because I was telling my roommate how his Witcher book cover keeps making me think of Rahegar, and I found a Google image that was in favor of my argument, and noticed it was the thumbnail of this video. 🤣
Rhaegars obsession with prophecy led to him cheating on Elia martell and trying to force this prophecy Ironically this is the biggest case against Jon being the prince and that was promised George doesn’t tend to reward obsession, hubris, and blood magic. That the hero prophecy was the wife that layed down her life to save people.
He annulled the marriage, the man was in a forced marriage to further his fathers powers not because he loved her nor was he ever loyal towards her but he would have stayed with her if he hadn’t of fallen in love with stark, he annulled the marriage because he didn’t want to run around on his wife and he didn’t want to reduce stark to nothing more than a concubine he was a kind man which is explained consistently within the story, he made the right choice, he also knew people would be mad at stark and want to kill her for what happened so when robbert said the prince raped stark he didn’t deny any allegations for he didn’t want to 1 tarnish her name 2 make her a target… he also it’s a tradition with the Targaryen’s to name their sons agon when they believed their child was going to do great things I don’t believe he was truly chasing a prophecy as much as it was him saying idk if the prophecy is real or not but if it is I believe my son will grow to be a great man befitting the name
@@robisoncolton38 no he didn't rape her And obviously they fell in love But that doesn't mean, he wasn't obsessed with lineage and prophecy Believing himself to sire Tsoiaf which was done before by aegon the 5th Rhaegar wanted to suceed where aegon the 5th had failed Spelt the end of his kingdom Now if you're looking for a good person that did things on rationale rather romance or prophecy Then aegon V successor jahaerys was the best king of Westeros Like Marcus Aurelius
To many clues point to Mance Rayder being Rhegar. He has Kings blood, he’s a bard, the references to the blue winter rose story, he has been watching Jon Snow or remembers on at least 2 occasions coming in contact with him before the story takes place, and when Robert visits Winterfell Mance Rayder is there too. The blue winter rose story the son kills the father and on the show Jon Snow kills Mance with a bow so he doesn’t burn to death. I’m telling you Jon Snow finding out his identity from his father is a lot better than a Bran tree vision.
No. How come he would be? Rhaegar Targaryen was killed in combat by Robert Baratheon at the Trident everyone knows this, whereas Mance Rayder was a sworn brother of the Night's watch, who became a deserter and lived with the wildlings, later to be known as The King beyond The Wall. He was most likely a member of the Nights watch around the same time Rhaegar was alive and that he had dark hair. Mance Rayder did not have kings blood. Mance Rayder has the royal pedigree of a pile of mud, but thousands kneel to him as king because they believe in him. All Mance wanted was land and a better life for the people he was leading. He just wanted them to survive. He had no other obligations or priorities beyond that. He was doing everything he could to get beyond the wall for the free folk. Mance physically look nothing like Rhaegar unless you are saying that Rhaegar changed his old physical appearance with magic of some sort. I just don't see any similarities or think it's possible that they are one and the same.
let’s say this is true, rhaegar was dedicated to the prophecy of the prince that was promised. joining forces with jon would be the best way to defeat the night king and fulfil that prophecy but instead he chooses pride over this bending the knee and helping??? this is beyond belief and has to be a troll comment lmao
You know, despite him marrying and having sex with a 14 year old girl. I'd like to think that he was heading back to save His other wife And it's 2 children.
@kyliehamilton5164 still, Robert himself was committed to mad king and he go against his king. This is the meaning of revolt. Maybe Jimmy decides to join the revolt in this point. Anyway Robert enjoyed from the act of Jimmy and spouse to be thankful to Jimmy. Not to mention Eddard Stark who was the leader of the rebellion.
Jamie was a sworn member of the Kingsguard similar as to the Nights Watch they aren't allowed to father children and so forth which is why Arys named him to his Kingsguard in spite of Tywin and basically held him as prisoner to keep his father in check. Jamie broke his oath and slain the King he was sworn to protect no matter how much good he may have been doing and how many people he saved in doing so he will always be known and mocked as an oath breaker. Robert kept him on as his Kingsguard because his wife Cersei asked him to so she would remain close to him.
I don't... I think Robert met him face on, one on one just brimming with rage & self righteousness over the perceived injustice.. I also think that battle was something that Rhaegar decided to pursue, while it was something that came naturally to Robert and he excelled at...
@@laurencote5949 Rhaegar was also a great warrior, he won every tournament he fought in even besting the Mountain (a 7 foot tall behemoth of muscle). From this you could say it came naturally to Rhaegar, and he excelled at it as well. However Robert was fighting with a pissed off fury while Rhaegar was conflicted on fighting for his father who he was no fan of, only fighting cause it was HIS DUTY as heir apparent(he had just gotten married his father pursued the war by burning 2 Starks alive), and protecting his wife and unborn son, also clouded his mind. He had doubts which I believe is what lost him the fight. Not to mention when you fight someone in a Berserker Rage, it is rather difficult.
Rhaegar beat The Mountain in jousting tourney's as he did against Sir Arthur Dayne and many other people. Yes Rhaegar beat Sir Arthur Dayne in tourney's but not in sword competition just jousting. In jousting tourney's Rhaegar was undefeated. It's one thing to be great at jousting and another to be great at the sword. They aren't even remotely the same, but I think Rhaegar was a great swordsman. It was said Rhaegar fought valiently and then Rhaegar died. Robert killed him on the battle field but do we really know if it was the full truth? The way Game of Thrones is I wouldn't doubt Rhaegar was fighting multiple people and Robert got the killing blow. The Rebellion was built on lies about Lyanna Stark being abducted wouldn't surprise me that battle was a lie as well. Even Eddard Stark's win against Sir Arthur Dayne was a lie. What did Cersei say to Joffery when your King the truth is what you make it? I don't think Robert won 1 on 1 that's just my opinion. As what "Flowshow88" said I think he died in similar fashion as Sir Arthur Dayne, it wouldn't surprise me one bit.
he wasnt rapist . she loved him and went with him. he wasnt crazy. he was good to people and everyone. robert was jealous . because neds sister didnt want to be with him.
