Western medias had emphasis the dark period of Somaliland. Now that the country is peaceful, they don't mention this country anymore, leaving people with that negative image. Maya, your content must be broadcasted on our African national Tv channels.

Somaliland have held 8 free and fair elections. 1. Constitution referendum vote in 2001. 2. Municipal elections in 2002. 3. Presidential election in 2003. 4. Parliamantary election in 2005. 5. Presidential election in 2010. 6. Municipal elections in 2012. 7. Presidential election in 2017. 8. Municipal and parliamentarian elections in June 2021. The results were just announced few days ago. During all these elections, there were a peaceful transitions of power. One time a candidate lost the presidency only with 80 vote differences. A president(Dahir Rayale) lost the election of 2010 and handed over the power to the opposition leader(Ahmed Silanyo). peacefully. So in short, what Somaliland accomplished in those 30 years with out international recognition is beyond imagination. You will see a 70 year old grandmother selling gold jewelry alone on the street with no guard and when you ask her "How many years you have been in the business?" She will tell you more than decades. They never experience any sort of intimidation. All these are blessing from the Almighty. Alxmadulilaah. Lastly Wada Maya u r a blessing 4 Africa. Keep doing what ur doing. All Africa loves u.

It was British protectorate not colony and we gained our independence in 1960 we United with Somalia and they abused the unity a civil war broke out in the late 80's we gained our independence in 1991 and since then we lived in peace and harmony with democracy and freedom one day Somaliland will be recognised this is the land of poet's and legends we have a very rich and fascinating history welcome to Somaliland Wode Maya may God bless you and your journey to introducing Africa to the world 😍
