He was exceptionally charismatic and intelligent, but he came from the days when character and talented counted more than directorial ego, "digital enhancement" and producers perverted power issues. Pre Weinstein. Many greats of that era, but Sir Roger was the ace of the aces. Missed.

Not a crease, a tear, a rumple on his elegant Savile Row suits and shirts; not a scratch on the gorgeous face, just an occasional need to "wipe" his hair back. Some occasional directorial or script anomalies for the sake of the storyline...

Sir Roger Moore plays such a simultaneously human yet dangerous character as well as being extremely charming and handsome. I noticed that he had directed one of the episodes I watched. I can't recall which one, but I did notice how well done it was. I missed The Saint being only 10 or so, hence I am thoroughly pleased with being able to watch them now! Truly amazing locations, great casts and well written plots. Thanks a million for sharing these wonderful stories! PS One can easily see why he was choosn as James Bond. First class actor.

Except the part where the criminal slips a silencer over the end of a revolver! Silencers only work on pistols because of the gaps at each end of a revolver's rotating chamber allows sound & gas to escape! Also, if the silencer isn't machined so it's screwed into the end of the gun's barrel, the bullet may not go cleanly through the silencer, which can not only distort the bullet but force the silencer off the barrel!

Roger Moore was once asked why he played Bond far less seriously than Connery. He said the role itself was not all that serious. Bond supposedly was a spy, a secret agent, yet everywhere he went, everybody knew who he was.

If you've ever read the James Bond books, you'll come to realise that Ian Fleming created them as satirical spoofs of the Cold War spy-novel genre! Remember watching a docu-drama on Ian Fleming's life in which they distinguished between what was known about him and the unsubstantiated stories he to told about his years in the war-office, along with supposedly working as a spy in Germany, and it was those stories which prompted his wife to encourage him to consider writing as a career. Thus the first James Bond book was written while on their honeymoon in the Caribbean!
