I have been sad to witness several mothers who, in an attempt to be 'present' with their seriously errant children, have left the church. (Three come to mind, 2 that I personally know) and it breaks my heart. I know that it is not only possible but VITAL to stay with the Tree of Life and allow ourselves to openly love the delicious fruit and still love our children. This is what will bring our children back. I also loved the idea of storytelling. Which to me means sharing your own stories of faith. I had a friend who is investigating the Church tell me the other day that I am a wonderful story teller as I was telling her of ways God has delivered me. She told me that my stories are very powerful. That was something I had never quite considered and it touched me. And finally, your comments remind me of President Nelson's teaching... that women will change the world when we are seen how different we are in happy ways!

Also, I think people are focusing on that Lund quote a lot because its the title of the video. And they're misunderstanding it. I highly doubt anyone would think you need to be physically strong. Its more like testimonies made of steel. Because those pioneers had testimonies and faith in what they knew to be true they were able to preserve and do something REALLY hard. PHYSICALLY hard. Because if their faith and trust un God. I believe thats what the prophets are saying when they say we leave God's house armed with his power/our covenants give us strength --Christ's strength. If we needed physical strength then the prophets would tell us to go to the gym, not the temple 😂 Obviously this is about spiritual strength ❤

I believe the Lord will strengthen us as much as we need to endure if we hold fast to our faith and do our best to prepare for the things to come. You don't need to be made of steel. Only your spirit and your faith need to be strong. Fight for what's right and the rights of your fellow man and let the chips fall were they may.

I believe that's what the quote is referring to. It was the faith of the pioneers that was so solid, and it will be our faith that will need to be solid as well. We already see what is happening to those whose foundation of faith was not solidly fixed on the rock of our Redeemer.

This was an excellent video. Satan's main attacks are against the family. And if he can keep women from wanting to become mothers, he keeps spirits from coming to earth. If he can make women feel deflated in their motherhood and miss the vision on their mission, he keeps them from unleashing their power in their home through their covenants. If he can make society detest motherhood, he wins a huge battle. This channel is needed. Women need to hear that motherhood is a beautiful calling. Ive already subscribed to Aurora's channel abd watched half the videos. They give mothers tools and encouragement and hope. This is a needed channel amoung all the filth and lies on the Internet. It needs to have its message spread!! Please share this channel with others. Let's make this channel grow!

We need to have a desire to know what to get rid of in our lives that is holding us back. If you don’t know ask God He will show you what to keep and what not to keep. Once we have done that we need to replace them with higher and holier ways. Some say I don’t want to give up those things because I enjoy what I’m doing. Pres. Nelson has told that time is running out! That should scare the socks off of people if not then stay the same and you will not live with your family in eternity! Eternity is a long time!

WOW I loved this video SO MUCH!!! 100% storytelling is so powerful. And I have felt to teach my kids the same things about looking for God's miracles of deliverance whenever they see circumstances that make them feel scared. Last week i felt impressed to have my family watch 17 Miracles, which one of my kids doesn't love because she has a really hard time watching dangerous/scary scenes - but this time I told her (and all of them), that any time something happened that was scary or seemed like a big problem, I wanted them to watch for the miracle that was about to happen. That THAT'S where our focus should be, on a loving, all-powerful God who can deliver His children from anything. President Nelson has told us to seek and expect miracles. We can count on them when we put our trust in the Lord and we should watch for them! So I challenged them to see if they could find all 17 miracles in the movie. 😄 I believe they will need to be reminded of this probably often because they will really need that perspective in times to come.

The stories handed down through your families about your ancestors are your heritage. When you know those stories, and the amazing people who lived them, you can feel pretty insignificant in the grand scheme of things, and recognize that you probably have a long way to go to live even close to the heritage you've been given. Many of my pioneer era ancestors kept journals, and the things they recorded therein are truly inspirational to me and to others that I have shared them with. May you seek out those stories in your own ancestry, that they can be the blessings and inspiration to you that your predecessors intended.

I LOVE this observation that every single miracle was one of deliverance. Even the miracle of water to wine. It helps us identify what kinds of needs matter most in our lives.

Read the "Saints" books to your kids! They are full of examples of deliverance. Also, your family history stories are powerful.

Thanks so much for this! I gave my very first Relief Society training presentation a couple of weeks ago and felt so strongly that mothers and women are the target of Satan - rather like if you hit the right skittle when bowling.. you get a strike. If he can knock mothers down, he can destroy the whole family… so I agree we need to be incredibly strong. The self-reliance courses are brilliant to help - at 66 I thought I didn’t need to learn much - oh was I surprised at how much I gained , as well as a new group of sisters I feel very close with and know I could rely on - just a small group of 6 took the course). Steel has to be worked and refined and beaten into shape … strong yet tensile and resistant, yet mouldable… perfect descriptions of who we need to become. Keep up the good work Jared!

I believe what they endured refined them into pure steel - because they allowed Jesus Christ to change them. Many lived and died for Him. If I can learn this ahead of time, it will help me face the challenges I will have to go through in the future. But in the midst of the challenges, I will still have the choice to be refined for Him and through Him - or turn away and fight against.

I really do think that in these last days we need to be made of steel. We need to have such a strong testimony in the gospel of Jesus Christ without being hardhearted. We need to be able to have false doctrine not penetrate our hearts… And I believe that is what the steel represents. In these last couple of years, I have seen very good people who had strong testimonies leave the church based upon what the world teaches. It’s people that I would have never guessed would have left the church.

More made it across plains than those that didn’t. Church always focuses on handcart stories and those that die but there were many many that made it and it wasn’t with handcarts .

Step Three: You follow the commandments because you love the Lord and you want to please Him. Based on what she quoted from elder lund, would that mean the pioneers who dued on this journey west were kess faithful, less strong? No i dont believe that. Had they nit been a faithful strong people they woukdbt have even taken thus journey. To say those whi lived and made the journey were kess than those who lived and made it wesr isnt a fair sratement at all. I respect and appreciate all those who made this long extremely hard journey. Babies and childrens lives lost, all who lost their lives along the way. To say we must have the strength of those who made it and disregard those who died along the way , i cannot do. Just as our Founding buikt thus natiin that required war to do si, those as young teenagers gave theur luves fir our freedoms, liberties, a natiin buikt on bibkical laws and principles. We dont look onky to our Founding but all those who lost theur lives for each of us

I’m not sure which quote exactly you are referring to. I’m only listening 1/3 in so far. But if it’s the one saying the saints that crossed the plains were made of steel and that we also will have to be that way to succeed then you are incorrect in your assumption. It definitely does not say the pioneers were less than. I don’t think any active member thinks so or has said so. The quote was saying we will need to be just as strong as the pioneers.

Personally I think physical strength is overrated. I can pick up some men like a Baby, but find myself sometimes having no energy to do some of the most simplest of tasks. And then there is the matter of "What Kind of Strong are you?" The kind of strong which facilitates hanging in the air for up too a Minute is essentially at this time an impossible Achievement for me, but if you need me to RDL 140 Pounds several Times. No Problem. But if you needed me to run 5 Miles with 100 Pounds of Gear on my Back. Forget it., but if you needed me to Squat holding 50 Pound Weights a few Dozen Times it would be hard, but Achievable. *Better to be Spiritually Strong then Physically Strong. The Amount of Protein needed to maintain Musculature is not realistic. Better to be Spiritually, and mentally prepared.

So the physically strong will make it? The mentally strong will make it? Those of us who are maybe a bit weak physically or mentally won’t make it? I thought it is those that are spiritually strong, that lean not on the arm of flesh but the arm of God, that will make it. Many, many good, righteous people are buried on the pioneer trail. They were just as good, and loved as those that made it to the Salt Lake Valley alive. So I guess maybe I’m misunderstanding her point here.

I would say, think of Zion as a collective. "One heart and one mind". You have talents that will help me survive as if you were a "person of steel". My talents will be like steel to someone else. We are in this together!

Shiree, I think you might have misunderstood what she was saying about that. Those that gave away all and treked across the plains had plenty of physical weakness, yet their faith(trust in the Lord) gave them the strength to carry on. There were plenty of old people that made it. I feel that the future “trek” will be won by the spiritually strong, which will overcome their physical shortcomings. JMHO

I believe that quote WAS about spiritual strength. That you'll be able to be valiant in the truth, have integrity to who you are as a child of God, despite the whirlwinds going on around us that Satan is behind.

I think she means the strength of those that made it to the SL valley and those who showed their strength but maybe didn’t make it. We lean on each other at times and we strengthen each other (hopefully )

As a grandmother, I feel the most important thing I can do is make sure my children and grandchildren know that I have a testimony and share the experiences that gave me that testimony. I want them to know that if I could gain that knowledge, they can too.

Oh i do too..at almist 70 physical life us quite chakkengung livinh in pain 24/7 and little sleep because if it. I do push myself to the limit. I walk 3 miles at eaat 4 times a week in 98 degree weather and 100% humidity here in the deep southeast. I literally push myself but mornings are not my friend. My kuds and grabdkuds worry that i push to hard with the illness i deal with and nerve damage but ive never been a quiter. Would i be abke ohysucally to make a long journey? Pronably not! Woikd i guve it my best? Yes i would. If i died before reaching our destination aa a lds, does that mean i wasnt as strong or worthy aa those who made the ling journey? No it does not. I am troubled by the quote she used from Elder Lund aa i feel we should be so grateful to thise who dued aling their journey west just as much as those who arrived. That statement i feel was hus persinal opiniin, not proohecy and nothung to back up such a statenent. This is one good reason why personal revelatiin is so important and bring in tune with the spurit us a abdolute necessity for each of our journrys here in this life.

I wish I could remember who said this, speaking about Muslim human bombings and such. You will never stop this until mothers love their children more than they love revenge. I know I’m not quoting but it’s close. Mothers need to teach love, forgiveness and instill that they are a child of God and their soul is worth saving

You mean Hardened Steel. Pure steel is rather soft, malleable, rusts easily, corrodes. Hardened Steel, like Quality Cutlery knives are made of STRONG ALLOY steel, don't rust easily.
