The Salt of the Earth Official Trailer 1 (2015) - Documentary HD
For the last 40 years, the photographer Sebastião Salgado has been travelling through the continents, in the footsteps of an ever-changing humanity. He has witnessed some of the major events of our recent history; international conflicts, starvation and exodus. He is now embarking on the discovery of pristine territories, of wild fauna and flora, and of grandiose landscapes as part of a huge photographic project which is a tribute to the planet's beauty.

You know a film is good when you choose to watch the trailer after watching the film

Saw it in the theater. My partner invited me to come (we were in the middle of a feud). I didn't know anything about the film or even that it was in theaters at the time, so I walked into this film in this theater with no expectations. And I was pleasantly blown away. I feel that documentaries are a form of medium that fall all over the place in terms of achievement and goals, when compared to traditional movies. This makes them harder to judge. I have to say, this is arguably THEE BEST documentary that I have ever seen. Probably a better experience to see in a big theater than at home on TV because this film focuses on photography. Still, it's totally worth seeing. You will walk away feeling touched.

A little over a year after your post, just saw it myself, and while I did watch it on a TV at home, it's nothing short of amazing. A high class masterpiece, and my favorite documentary to date.

beautiful film... powerful visual environmental action supporting Earth's nature with actual energy to plant trees to restore and nurture that which NEVER should have been destroyed... Forests! hope trailer provides this since the naivety of his original pioneer to record document was misworded misthought.... nature native wise and the others who migrate to create not same as Creator provided "survival life"... real photography and published photographs proved the quality of insight equal to the divine being viewing... instant and continuous spying... with thoughts words judging and deciding to alter nature and naturally in balance self reliance and autonomous ways... which is the only Way Earth ever required form all her lifeforms to be supported.... this film should have won at afi. and been able to be seen throughout the whole of Earth as national government support for instant awareness..reminding it is OUR daily life thought attitudes and actions that support Earth & All with the god~given Good contained within our divine eternal spirit having earth gift of life moments...

Photos are well done, but for the troubles of humanity he blames ordinary people, not the ruling elite, corporations or superpowers.

This photographer comes across like an egomaniac. Why doesn't he get a real job doing hard labor like other people? Why does he get to have an easy life?
