This really takes me back. Grew up in St Albans Corps, married in Preston Corps and in 1978 we were awaitinb our first child. She was a foster child that we adopted and now I am back in the Army after 30 years away. It was the music of John Laarson and the lyrics of John Gowans that brought me back. Hallelujah!!
I am very proud to have returned to the Salvation Army, as a youngster myself and my siblings were encouraged to go to sunday school and get involved with everything else going on, including the Goodwill demonstrations in London with Captain Joy Webb...wonderful days, and I have never forgotten how to play my timbrel
High excellence of great worth... brass bands have been in the past a highly useful witness for The SA church. However God should be at the Centre of any church, as He is our excellence of great worth 🙏🏽💙🙏🏽
I was there and was a superb evening but, how come no mention of Enfield's excellent rendition of Bearcroft's Just Like John? Including BM James Williams playing a stand up testimony ?
I could very well be wrong(big surprise!), but the speaker looks and sounds like General Arnold Brown, who I had the greatpleasure of meeting and phptographing during his visit to Halifax, Nova Scotia. Sadly, I dont remember the year, but, it was the 100th anniversary of George Scott Railton to start the work of the Army in that city.
Isaia 62 verso 11.
