Spitfire Audio have turned their attention once again to Abbey Road studio one and presented us with the massive Abbey Road Orchestra Symphonic Strings. Previously we’ve been tantalised with the 1st violins and cellos, now the ensemble is complete with the violas, double basses and the all important 2nd violins. Abbey Road Orchestra Symphonic Strings is available in both professional and core formats, with an extended range of legato techniques, a whole host of standard and extended articulations and more microphone signals than you could ever need. Could this be the most complete string library available on the market today?
Join Pete Checkley as he takes us on a journey inside of the Abbey Road studio recordings.
A very special thank you to Spitfire Audio for providing us a copy of the library for this review.

If you are enjoying the content, feel free to buy us a coffee. We don’t charge developers for advertising or use affiliate links, we just do this for the love of making music. While we are provided with review copies from the wonderful developers, we also purchase a lot of libraries for our videos. I prefer the sounds of the renewed Symphony Orchestra by Spitfire Audio. It's also much more affordable,

Thanks again for posting a sneak peak, but I don't believe you when you say: "Of course it doesn't influence our thoughts, ideas or judgements" If you really want to be independent, then you have to buy the libraries despite the "free" offer. It creates a dependency because you obviously want to continue to have free libraries, otherwise you wouldn't take them for free.

Hello! Thanks for message! It’s a tricky one as this is the reason we do not take affiliate programmes, affiliate links, advertising deals or sponsorship. However, if it wasn’t for the kind developers supporting us with providing us with their libraries, there is no chance the channel would exist. So while our disclaimer is an honest one, it’s really down to the viewer to decide if they trust our judgement or not. I can however assure you that on every video, our comments are not swayed by the fact we get the libraries for free. As a team, we have all invested a significant amount of money into the building of our studios and therefore can accurately weigh up the value of the instruments in terms of price to performance. We will never monetise to keep ourselves as impartial as we possibly can. Have a superb day!

Someone would have to be independently wealthy in order to purchase all of these librariesto do “free reviews”. You have to keep in mind that most people doing this are working a 9 to 5 job in order to support a family. In order to organize a RU-vid channel disposable income is not necessarily available to buy 20 libraries a month. What is available to someone who accepts libraries from a developer to do reviews is their personal integrity. That is why the channel is independent and not funded by any outside monies.

some decent samples - but overall just so stiff - hard to get riveting emotional performances. That is a hard ask with VI - this makes it darn near impossible. Big backstep versus say Appassionata for that.... I can see these filling a market for those wanting consistency and mix ready modern scores. Great patient walkthrough though, thanks.
