I'll probably just stick with my twenty four ultra. It's just too much money to make a compromise. I won't give up the S Pen and I don't want that skinny front screen. I've had one plus phones in the past and i'm not going there. If the front screen changes make it feel acceptable, that would be a different story, but I doubt it's going to be different enough. I could be wrong.
Samsung will make the fold with an spen slot and a wider cover screen and then they will say how they listen to their customers only after taking years to do it. You want samsung to make changes you want? Stop upgrading every single flipping year. Had my 512GB Note 10+ untill I got my 512GB S23 Ultra in June last year😅 Note still works and is still used for a few things when on wifi at home as a secondary device and also to save a little extra on the S23 Ultra battery on i.e video chat or casual games when at home. Too bad it's native stuck at Android 12 even though it's not really a problem yet.
When will Samsung realize that they need to make only one fold which has inbuilt Spen and has a wider screen.? That's the only thing Fold users want even if that means to compromise for a slightly thicker device
I get the sneaky feeling that the slim is going to be the standard model next year as the regular 7, while the z fold 6 we are getting here in the states, will get upgrades and become the ultra model. Just a hunch.
I am using S series for 10 years. I finally wanted to ditch it for Fold Series, but Samsung killed my dream for weaker specs. I really wish to have s series like cameras
In the same boat. Also just 8 bit panels on all samsung flagships kills me. Iphones have had 10bit panels since the iPhone x. Oneplus and xiaomi also have them. Fuck samsung till they stop cost cutting.
I've had the Folds, 3, 4, 5 and they haven't really upgraded the only two things I care about. Cameras and charging speed. I do like the wider front screen though. I was hoping for an upgraded version in the US but that doesn't look likely
I too have had the 3, 4, and 5. Was considering trading for 6 but I think it's a solid point that manufacturers interpret constant upgrading to mean they can put anything out there.. For me it's the discounts and trade value that usually gets me. I would never pay the full price. Knowing I'm getting something even just mostly better than what I currently have usually pushes me if they're addressing a main concern, but this time with 5 & 6 it feels harder to justify. Either way, for me it's been camera and Spen slot that disappoint me. I never understand why people insist the secondary screen on a phane with one of the largest main displays, to be wider, compromising a near perfect ratio. And have large hands.
I'd go for the slim if it has better cameras. It's frustrating that it's a limited release but I hope they sell well and bring it to the world in the next iteration.
I think I'll wait for either Vivo updating their software for X Fold 3 Pro to Samsung/Google level or wait for Z Fold 10 when it reaches the current X Fold 3 Pro hardware level.
Bigger and better specs. I rarely use the Spen. When I do use it on the Fold 5 I feel it's too plasticity and the middle crease isn't the best experience to draw on. Unless the Fold 6 vastly improves the thickness of the glass and decreases the crease enough, I'd rather not have an Spen.
I need that SPen. I want the outer screen to have S Pen support. That makes me use it less on the Fold3. I wasn't going to upgrade, but the phone doesn't open super flat anymore, so I can't put inner screen protectors on because they Raise up. And I drop the phone and the inner screen has a dead pixel now. So I'll just upgrade. This will finally be a solid upgrade for me. Since the Note3, I always upgraded every year to the née Note, then the Fold3 once the Note series was gone. So I'm sure I'll see a noticeable difference.
I kinda agree. Drawing over the fold area doesn't feel right. It's nice to have, but I prefer it on a stronger surface. But I'll have to wait and see if the new glass on the Fold 6 is actually stronger than previous models.
The slim but without the slim part with the Spen instead. I don't care how slip the phone is as it's still gonna be quite thick when folded. The pen is what made it different from the rest. I want a bigger display tbh.
I'm sticking with the regular Fold 6, slimmer can only mean smaller battery, but even if it keeps the same battery size, it will lose S pen support which is a step in the wrong direction. Thinner also guarantees it definitely cannot support the S series cameras, so the only improvement will be AI post-processing which will probably come to both Fold versions.
I won't be using the spen but i do care abt the smaller screen and considering the fact that i and 2 other people like using the narrow screen i would go with the normal fold6
In my opinion a wiser front acreen, better caneras and battery backup and magsafe feature built in like apple and also titanium build lika s24 ultra, a slimmer and lighter device is what wevexoect in fold 6 ..most of these features are coming in fold 6 so it will be a hit ..i dont thibk we shkuld worry about buikt in spen....those who use s24 series agree that they rarely use spen. Besides..any fild device must be used with a case for protection and hence if spen fits into the case like we have for fold 5..that is good enough.

There is a really why all Chinese manufacturers don't have a styles because most people in Asia don't use it. For cameras, they can just make a camera bump, so that can solveable. A wider screen is an advantage for me too
I'm definitely all for the slim model. I read a comment on here where this slim model could possibly replace the standard model as we've been accustomed to. In my opinion, this is the direction to go for Samsung and its global market. Thanks for the update Sal 👍

Yeah it will. I had the 22 and swapped to the 24 ultra and was worth it. I'm swapping to the fold six since it finally has the wider outer display and brightness is the same as the 24 ultra. Only loss is smaller battery and the anti glare screen. As for the pen, I always say I want it, but I very rarely use it so I don't need it.
Ide upgrade to slim 6 all day hands down I have big hands, so bigger phone. It's gonna be better for me. Also I like bigger screens it's best overall experience lol❤❤❤❤😂
What is your opinion on this dilemma I have? I have a Fold2, but I was thinking of getting the Fold6. Do you recommend getting the one coming out or should I wait? BTW I prefer a bigger & wider display. What are your thoughts?
I believe they already have it mapped out when they will incorporate all these features on future models. I believe they got the Z Fold 7, 8, 9 already planned. They can do these features all at once but rather add them slowly to make more money each year.
Their main problem is the screen size, unfortunately for them everyone else is doing better, my next new phone will be about the same time as the fold 8 release so hopefully they will fix it by then
Not having an S Pen is no problem for me. I would go with the Slim version mainly because my daily driver is the S24 Ultra I have the Z Fold 4 as a second phone. I use the Fold for RU-vid videos movies and all that and my S 24 U I use at work or on the go. That Slim would be very nice to have.
I am using FOLD 3 since it launched. I will only change Fold 3 to FOLD 6 if this time we will get S pen Support… Answer for your question is obviously go for FOLD with S pen support …
I never use an s pen with my fold 4, so i could care less if there is s pen support on a new phone... So for me the ultra/slim is an easy pick...but it must be available in Europe for that 😅 Looking forward to it! Until then my fold 4 will do it just fine 😊
I would prefer Fold 6 Slim. Because I earlier was having Note 20 ultra. Where Spen use was too less. So if Fold 6 Slim is available, it will be my first preference anyways as it is More Powerful
Can't wait until I can save up enough money for one of these foldable phones. Maybe in like 5-6 years. For now, I'm enjoying my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.
I've never had a phone longer than the z fold 3 I had that phone for 3 years that's impressive My issue with the slim factor is the heat coming from the z fold 3 to the s24+ I'm amazed but how much cooler the s24+ runs in night and day tbh the other thing is battery life I've been so impressed with the 24+ it's a two day phone for $2000 dollars I expect the z fold 6 to be better
S pen is why you buy the fold , For the Price of the phone,You should get the 8 inch screen And the s pen. I don't know why Samsung keeps trying to make them lighter and thinner for the price we pay, We should get a phone that feels and weighs like something we spent money on. Just make the thing bigger or wider so it actually resembles a tablet unfolded, and there won't be a problem. Hell, why not actually innovate and make it recessed into the frame/ hinge or anything at this point. I have the Fold 5 (coming from the Fold 3) and I like it, but the only reason I didn't get the Oppo Find N3 (I'm an ex-pat living in Asia, so no OnePlus...same device though) was because Samsung's software is still superior. If it wasn't for that, I would definitely jump ship! I mean they all have larger displays, better cameras, slimmer designs...Samsung is sleeping on these companies. They need to wake the f!#$ up!

The loss of the S pen would hurt but it seems like a lot of companies that make folding phones are not concern with a stylus. I would choose the slim if it is indeed better that the standard. On another note, i never thought i would say this but i can't wait for Apple to finally make a folding phone. Samsung tends to only truly care about innovation when Apple steps its toe into something. Other android companies are trying to push them but it seems like Samsung is like "Oh...thats cute. Will think about doing somethin next year. This year you getting minor updates"
I would go with the Fold 6 Slim I'm not an S Pen guy, i have a Feeling the Fold 7 will have Bigger and better specs, Samsung is Wrong for What they're doing.
If it could match or better the specs of Vivo X Fold 3 Pro then have my money Samsung 😊. Double Ultrasonic Fingerprint Sensors, Big Screen, Big Battery, High Fast Charging Rate.
They're only releasing the slim in South Korea and china because of better competition and customers who are used to better specs. For the rest of us, Samsungs went like apple and got greedy and lazy feed dripping out products with few tweaks thats not worth upgrading.
I'm becoming so frustrated with Samsungs "upgrades" that I'm actually feeling like if Apple makes a foldable, they could actually get me back. For the most part I love Samsungs execution of foldables, capability, durability etc. I don't think I'll ever go back to a standard phone. Don't get me wrong, I'm Samy squad since the Note 4. Overall experiences with Samsung since my switch to foldables, and the actual devices themselves have been just fair, mostly case of customer service which had improved. Now I've had the Fold 3, 4 and now 5 but we're still waiting on unacceptable corrections to be made ie best camera on flagship.. Not to mention they continue to disregarding their special and unique features ie Spen w/ SLOT, rotating bezel on watch, and now what?.. They're once again attempting to phase out the S pen/Note by finally offering us the camera we deserve but only by 86ing the pen?.. Also, although the software is still pretty much best, what's going on with this last update? Goodbye rotating AOD why? Taskbar doesn't work with 3rd part launchers, why? Some features on Goodlock are nonfunctional..you can find them but they won't work.. (yes my phone if fully updated), why? Android is the customize king. Why are they senselessly removing customizable features, and things about Samsung that true fans and loyal customers love? 😡
Okay this genuinely doesn't make sense and sounds more like a poor excuse. Can someone with the expertise explain what exactly is it about S Pen support that would prevent a phone from being thinner? Is that not a software functionality? Why would a software function be taken away in favor of physical size?
For whatever reason Samsung has always been doing this for china getting a better version as well as special designs. It started flwith the fold 2. Generally, they have gold on them with engravings. I wanted to get my hands on one but it seems like you can only get in in person, cant find anywhere online where I can get one.
