Agreed on Malaki. But don't sleep on Blake Wesley too. Kid was hooping before getting injured and did not get a chance to fully show his potential. Kid gets to the lane with ease. Has a decent 3, Gazelle like speed and a dawg attitude. Good eye when he is actually trying to find a teammate and not on his tunnel vision mode. Spurs might not actually have to look for that point guard and just develop Wesley, clean up his turn-overs and help him finish better at the rim with contact.

I agree ☝️ with this! I don’t understand why they would draft another PG when Wesley showed he can be a capable backup PG and he’s a good defender.

By year 3, Wesley might take that starting pg spot from Tré. Pop knows Tré is there for back-up purposes. Wesley will hold his own against any pg out there assuming he continues to improve.

@@RMASUPERFLY I remember saying that Blake is the one who got the most potential on our roster(before we drafted Vic obviously), but barely anyone talk about him. I do like his upsides a lot, even more than Malaki or Jeremy, a bigger Ja Morant who doesn't have a defense problem(Also no drama)?

@@RMASUPERFLY people are sleeping hard on Tre Jones. He averaged 13ppg nearly 4rbs, close to 7 ast and 1.6 stls. He shot nearly 47% from the field, 30% 3pt (he shot over 40% from 3 until Vassel got hurt) and 90% FT. That means he’ll probably be a decent 3pt shooter plus he’s a good defender. He did this in his first year as a full time starter, all while being in and out of the lineup due to injuries and tanking.

I am a big Malaki fan. Loved his rise through his 6 months at OSU and then the Spurs were a fantastic landing spot. Been trying to get him at least one of my dynasty leagues before he blows up but it hasnt happened yet.

The hard part of assessing talent in young players really happens after they’ve managed to make a enough of an impact to have opposing teams pay close attention to their respective scouting reports and plan for them defensively. This is typically where players are separated from decent/good/great. It’s where you see players hit a wall. At least offensively speaking.

Keldon could be a trade piece for another guy, interested to see what they do there with him. A lot of these guys on the Spurs look to be project pieces. I don't think they pull the trigger on Branham just yet as a full time starter, play around as a 6 man, If they don't move on from Keldon, Vassell, sochan, Wemby ideally your starting 4. If they do move on from Keldon, would prefer to see Diop take that slot and get around 25 mins a game, would provide much needed defense at SF spot. Interested to see the point guard room with Wesley and Jones and how that

He was getting compared to Kris Middleton before the draft, I remember hearing a scout liked him because he kept improving in college. He had a bad game said he'll do better and then did so. I thought he was gonna have a good rookie season but he might just be a solid scorer off the bench.

Yep remember those comparisons to Middleton. Seems now he can be a good guy to run with the bench guys, which is a pretty good role for him now as he figures his way defensively and from three.

Branham will be fine. Champagnie sure brought his shot with him to the Spurs. Vassell, I hope stays healthy. Keldon needs to find a mid-range shot. Sochan needs to find a mid-range turnaround jumper or some type of go-to move. Collins has a year under his belt that he didn't get injured. Wesley won't ever amount to anything. Bassey rebounds & that's it. Who are the Spurs going to pick at 33&44? Trade, trade, trade & move all the way up to pick Henderson if his talk isn't a lie, 'best ever PG'. Trade Keldon, Jones, Bassey, Wesley, Birch, the 44th pick (& McDermott if you have to) to get Henderson. Sign Poeltl as a FA for some defense.
