This is the same team that traded Emmanuel Clase, Trea Turner, Ty France and Andres Muñoz. Meanwhile Juan Soto is putting up all career lows since getting traded to San Diego. His OBP is still pretty good but all around the board, it's just insane to see.
Clase was traded from Texas to Cleveland not San Diego, but point still stands. Gave up so much talent for stars who have underperformed since they got there
@@mlbupdates365 Clase signed as an international FA with the Padres. They still traded him to the Rangers' minor league farm. It still definitely stands.
@@walker68175 I was unaware of that, so I appreciate you mentioning it. Looked it up, they traded him for nothing, and he’s turned into a top 3 closer in baseball. Insane
This is a good video but I don't agree with everything being said here. Where I understand the frustration of watching a team go all in only to see them improve marginally or not at all.. Just think this team could just fold it every season and watch their fan base lose interest. Baseball is about trends and streaks, and yes the Padres always appear to be snake bitten, but imagine if this team just didn't try, didn't make moves, didn't attempt to improve or change their chances. Yeah I get it, it's frustrating but at least they're trying which is much better than some teams out there who gave up seasons ago. This team under the right manager could be very dangerous..
I appreciate it! And I agree with you also. As I said, I respect their desire to win, but my issues lies with trying to win by trading for your team. Not how it works. Padres should take a look at how the Braves and dodgers are running the team
@@mlbupdates365 You're right and I forgot to mention that. Trading away your youth, and some really good up and coming players season in and season out is not a good recipe for sustainability. I think the Dodger have done a great job of keeping things equal with their ability to groom their prospects and make meaningful trades.. The Dodger could have stolen Soto but they were unwilling to give up their top prospects to do so where the Padres weren't. So yes, you're right you did mention it and I totally agree. Again rally like your content, well thought out and presented.
@@davidmata4786 exactly and the Dodgers knew acquiring Soto wasn’t making them much better, and if anything ruining their farm system. But I appreciate the feedback a ton, glad you enjoyed it👍🏻
