The San Juan Mountains - 3 Days Exploring one of the most beautiful places in Colorado. 

So beautiful, what an experience!

I'm so very honored to live in this state. We're only 30 min to these sculptures from our front door. I even work full-time for FedEx and I get to drive by the San Juan's everytime I'm in my work truck.. Ouray, Ridgway, unaweep canyon,Placerville, sawpit,telluride,society,Mt. Village,Norwood, Redvale, Naturita, Paradox, Bedrock, Nucla are all on my route to deliver to the customers of the western slope. Eagles,Hawks, falcons, ospreys, elk,deer,fox,minks, marmot, mtn sheep and goats are all my coworkers out there.. love my home, my family, my friends, my job..

I did the same general routes in late July this year and there is no comparison between looking at two dimensional pix and being there for the full-on three dimensional sights sounds and smells. Nature’s majesty presented the best way possible. There are not words that can describe what this Alpine Loop has to offer. I was just up mostof the high passes that are shown in this video. And given the extreme focus the driver must dedicate to staying on the trail - there are no rails to protect you from sliding off into oblivion, nor are there signs warning you of the dire consequences of even the briefest foray of a ledge or shelf road. Yet even as dangerous as it is , there were crowds of 4wd, sxs, and well equipped dirt bikes convening at the summits and rest spots, most are courteous and friendly while up on the trails, get back on pavement and not so much. I guess folks get real friendly when they are faced with the specter of the afterlife just a foot or two off the side of a one lane road that two vehicles find they have to work together to squeeze by successfully. One of the best off road experiences in America, if not the whole world!
