The Sanctified Sanctuary of Salvation
Christ rising on Sunday from the grave had nothing to with a day, but it had everything to do with a date. Jesus had to be resurrected on the 16th of the month. That day could have been Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, or any day. But the DATE had to be the correct day in order to fulfill Him being the Sheaf of Grain that was waved by the High Priest in the Sanctuary. He had to rise on a particular date to offer Himself as the First Fruit.
So Christ is not only the sacrificial Lamb, and He is not only the High Priest, but He is also represented as the First Fruits of those who would also be resurrected. Amen? Amen!
"Thy way O God is in the Sanctuary."The Jews annually came from various parts of the world where they were scattered, to be in Jerusalem every year from the 14th to the 21st. of Nisan the first year. That is the Passover feast.
This means that all male Jews from twelve years old and up, had to go into Jerusalem a week prior, in order to get themselves prepared. They came from various parts of the world, and they spent the entire month there celebrating the three feast days.
Now you may remember that Mary and Joseph took Jesus, who at the time was twelve years old, with them from Nazareth to Jerusalem to attend the feasts. Incidentally, the Feast of Unleavened Bread was celebrated concurrently with the feast of the Passover beginning from the next day, the 15th to the 21st. of the month.
When Christ died, the next day the 15th, was a weekly Sabbath. He rested in the grave on that Sabbath the 15th. Whenever a weekly Sabbath and a ceremonial Sabbath came together, it was called a High Sabbath. The 16th was the "morrow after Sabbath" when Jesus arose from the grave, He became the First Fruit of all the saints that would similarly rise.
