When the history of America comes to mind, most people expect stories about the fight for independence, liberation, World War two, the American Revolution, and so many other historical events. But that’s not all. America today is the most powerful country on the planet, no doubt about that, but it has a lot of sad histories. One such history is the Sand Creek massacre of eighteen sixty-four, where American Natives were ordered to be killed and slaughtered by American soldiers.
Native Journals offers an insightful exploration into the lives, cultures, and resilience of indigenous peoples across the Americas, from the Cherokee to the Inuits. We examine the impacts of colonization and celebrate the rich heritage of Native American communities. Join us in honoring these vibrant traditions and stories.

We survived Sand Creek. We are still here.. my name is LeftHand. The chief of that name that was here is my family's ancestor and was badly wounded here. He was of Cheyenne and Sioux descent but history says he was Arapaho. His son had children with Chief Black Kettles (also an ancestor) daughter White Buffalo Woman. My ancestor refused to sign the Fort Laramie treaty and stayed with Tall Bull's band and his Dog Soldiers. My adopted "dad" Lyle Red Bird told me this history when I was a kid. Proud resistance and resilience of those people from my proud past. No need to feel sorry for what happened.. although it was a terrible tragedy no people should endure. We still honor our ancestors by living a good life. It is history, we learn from that.

I think we would have got it all back if it weren’t for the genocide and ethnocide they subjected us to . They knew this plus their penchant for cruelty and the lie of manifest destiny only fueled their toxic colonization of the world . Their creed is greed

But will this ever be touted in our schools? I doubt it.

In my humble opinion as a libertarian, this subject and the current media subjects are best viewed from the perspective of what happens when individuals turn their lives over to anything but the smallest government. God help us.

The video states the Chivington died in disgrace in 1865. This is incorrect. He did not die until 1894. He never repented and was an honored guest speaker “…as a fearless and patriot officer…” by the local civic group “Pikes Peak Pioneers” in 1883. He did, however, further disgrace himself by marrying is dead son’s wife who divorced him a few years later for “non-support”. However, Capt Silas Soule under Chivington’s command refused to order his men to fire on the Indians at Sand Creek. After testifying against Chivington at the official Army investigation, the newlywed Soule was shot in the back in Denver a few weeks later in 1865

And then there was the massacre of Indians by the White men on the Washita R. The Battle of the Washita River (also called Battle of the Washita or the Washita Massacre) occurred on November 27, 1868, when Lt. Col. George Armstrong Custer 's 7th U.S. Cavalry attacked Black Kettle 's Southern Cheyenne camp on the Washita River (the present-day Washita Battlefield National Historic Site near Cheyenne, Oklahoma). The minions of crimes committed by manmade White Man's governments are documented.

I have known this story since I was a child. Today my family and myself went to the massacre site. And I placed my hand in the waters of big sandy creek. It's upsetting to see it still regulated and controlled today by the national parks service. If you are heading that way you will be in the town of Chivington. As in Col. John Chivington...

Oh, I don't know. I learned of this chapter in American history when I was 15 or 16 years old. Way back in the mid-70's. I'm 64 today. It's not that we are unwilling to share this episode of history with our young today, it's that we are unwilling to share anything but leftist horse shit with them. The "teachers" of our young today are thoroughly ignorant and indoctrinated ideologs. They don't even know about this story. Sadly. There's a hell of a lot that they don't know! By design.

Your version is inaccurate ask a C/A the actually facts leading up to the massacre.

Your grammar is inaccurate, and your punctuation absent, your solitary outside reference ("C/A", with no reference from/to any gov't agency, current socialist movement or explanation whatsoever, is....Compromised/Absent? California/Arizona? Certified/Accountant? Corrugated/Augmented? A lack of all physical digits aka 8 fingers and 2 thumbs required to type accurately? If this is an accusation of the progenitors of the CIA being the armed and murderous Christian Soldiers randomly killing everyone, I point out that task was assigned and compensated to the FBI) offered as a source of facts doesn't stipulate if those facts (such as the U.S. soldiers "harvesting" of the Natives' corpses for trophies being the actual "scalp trade" the Catholic Church derided to the point of excommunicating some of its' participants, yet shipping the prepubescent survivors of this and other "Indian Massacres" by rail to be "educated" by sexual deviants in Catholic boarding schools that held the titles "Father" and "Sister") have to be substantiated with primary evidence, much less spelled correctly. The massacres' "actually" facts lead only to Hell.

I've always loved history and had the privilege to teach High School History for 20 years, both World and U.S. This was in Huntington Beach, California. Without going into great detail, the Indian presence and wars have always had an impact on the history of the birth of this nation, all the way to the Indian casinos of today. History is comprised of events that make us both proud and ashamed if the truth is told and if it's not it's not history! Rather than to dwell on this, I just wanted to comment on "Native Journals" people who put this production together. The 3 pictures you used on the RU-vid "click on" selection screen were all of British soldiers and they were from the French & Indian War and & either the Revolutionary War and/ or the War of 1812, which all happened before 1864! I think it's unfair and not accurate to visually imply that the British were guilty of Sand Creek; they have other sins to atone for!
