Hi lads and lasses,
This is part 1 of a 3 part episode that we at VerminHuntersTV are going to be doing over the next 3 to 4 weeks.
This part shows the great work that Tony Wall at Sandwell Field Sports does when he stage 2 tunes a Weihrauch HW97KT spring piston rifle.
Part 2 will show some long distance sub 12 foot pound shooting with the rifle and some more hunting.
Part 3 will show a part of a tune being carried out and Tony will explain the differences in the stage 1 tune and the stage 2 tune.

Hi Si, Great shooting again! On the back of this video I've just ordered exactly the same from SFS, with the stage 2 tune. The only downside is I have to wait 10 weeks. It will be worth it! Keep up the good work mate! Cheers Paul (Ex R.E.)

If you can have high power then the .22 would be really good mate. Both the rifles you talked about will be good to squirrel, but for me i like the HW97KT the best. The advantage with the .22 is its kinetic energy when it hits vermin mate. Si.

S1 a new guide is made from drelin i think its called and new top hat ect with SFS spring and polish and tune. S2 the guide is made on a metal lathe and screw cut into the back of the action so it cant move at all which reduces recoil. A SFS spring is fitted and top hat. Its polished all over inside and re greased with good grease. Then the rifle is just tuned everywhere and the trigger is set up correctly.

No just calibrated it very finely using my own tried and tested methods. A HW100 don't need tuning pal they are brilliant straight out the box.

Springers and PCP's are totally different for a start, and springers take more technique and are thus more rewarding to shoot well with!

Love the BSA lightning, I have the Gas Ram XL SE and I’m just getting to grips with it and all I can say is wow. I wanted to learn a bit of technique before going straight down the PCP route and when I do it’s going to be the Ultra.

Mate your really didn't understand my comment. I'm not saying putting 5 shots in a 1 hole is super hard to do with a pcp at 27 yards, I've done it many many times myself. I was saying I am happy if i do it with a pcp so with a springer its much more rewarding as you need to get everything right in your technique and follow through or you wont achieve it. When you have your springer sorted mate give me a shout and we can film a episode together for RU-vid of us both shooting at range. Si.

That's great shooting! I just got a Beemans HW97k it shooting good, but would be nice to have it turned like yours. I don't know of anyone in the US that does tune guns, most people here aren't interested in airguns. I just started really enjoying them, also enjoy your videos.

Hi' Si', Would you happen to know if SFS do a stage 2 on the HW98 ? I've only ever had spring guns and being a traditionalist and I dont see this changing. I'm no great sniper but with my HW98, hitting the kill zone on small game isn't a problem at 40yds. I'd love to compare the performance after a stage 2 tune. Great Video's by the way. thanks.

Couple questions: First what weight pellet do you shoot. Second how fast is she shooting with said pellet. I'm looking at purchasing the hw97k and I've not found anyone who has as much trigger time on one as you. Thanks much.

Hw98 or the Hw97? I can't make my mind up if I would prefer the undeleaver or the break barrel. Love both rifles but unfortunately my bank balance doesn't love both. So I have to choose one. Any recommendation? Thanks

great shooting si, do you prefer .22 to .177 ? it seems like the gun shops tell me they sell 99 in .22 to 1 in .177 . for rats and rabbit what would your choice be ? thanks, also would tony export out to guernsey ?

Hi Si ! David here. Been saving up & interested in an HW77K(T is optional). Would like an older model w/the larger tube, &, open sights, in .20 cal. Seems they're kinda scarce here in the states, tho. So, which would you favor between an hw97k (probably .20 cal) & a TX200 lll in .22 (.20 cal not made)?

How are the gas rams recoil compared to your tuned HW97 ? Do you see a gas ram being used in field target competitions ? I know this is a few years old and things might have changed in the gas ram but going by the best gas ram you have shot to date 11-12-17 ,do they come close to a tuned HW97 or a tuned TX200 . Would you use a gas ram in a field target match or do you know anyone that has used a gas ram in a FT match ? Do you see the gas ram ever shooting as good as a tuned TX200 or HW97 ?

Just got off the phome to them and what i can work out they fit there own guide on s2, where as they use the same guide and swap over the spring only in st1. Is this right? Can you confirm si? Need to speak to tony really i got his wife on the phone.

Ok cheers mate, you say in vid you'd be happy putting 5 shots through the same hole at this range with a pcp? this is very easy to do, ive put 10 shots at 35 yards with a wolf 22 and the hole was no bigger than a 22 size pellet, outdoors . not got any big range acess but only 25 yards indoor and all my pcps with put pellet ontop of pellet for a full mag. its very easy rested mate. don't take that the wrong way mate, just saying its not exactly hard with a pcp

Why didn't you put a scope on that BSA and try put pellet on pellet. Ike tell ya why...because you didn't want to tell BSA the truth about how bad the gun is. There's a name for people who won't tell the truth! Mate 👍
