I really like the idea of the "Broken Tusk" reapers. It would have been interesting to see some consequences for taking too long to fix the Aurora, since the PDA warns of an extinction level event from the leak, but you're free to just ignore it and keep doing your thing. So something like the crash zone reapers mutating into larger, scarier, more hostile versions would be a fun way to make the player feel like their choices actually had an impact on the world. The redesign really makes them look like they've suffered trauma and mutation as a result of exposure to the leak, as well. Would love to see this in a mod.
A giant creature in the void that pulls your cyclops down would be amazing, your PDA gives you a warning that a leviathan creature is approaching, gives a line about it being different from the others and after 10 seconds or so the PDA counts down as it charges you from below. Terrifying and intriguing
Jay Hagan I was off about the Glow Whale upload date, but the Sea Emperor and Sea Dragon are *literally in the base game.* They were added before this video even released. That's not "poking at the premise of the video", that's pointing out that somebody is wrong, *which you kinda need to know you're going to make a youtube video.*
Every time I think about the hostile version of the sea emperor. I imagine the sea dragon, ghost and reaper leviathans. Seeing the sea emperor for the first time (right after watching the teaser trailer) and they swim away screaming (high pitched). Not gonna lie, that would be so funny. I would make a fan art about this
That skeleton is gargantuan leviathan which is going to be alive in artic dlc Don't ask me how big is this leviathan Edit:OK I look it up again and its basically 10 bigger than sea dragon leviathan
No it can't, not only is the head shape *way* off, the entire anathomy of the skeleton in the * *Lost* * River is completely different, the creature in this concept art has a very hunchback-y neck and body and squid-like arms, whereas the Gargantuan Leviathan skeleton (yes, that's the name displayed in the PDA after you've scanned it) has a very long eel-like body, and was supposed to have been over a mile long (English mile, not 10 km, it's less than that), which makes them completely different. But overall, good suggestion.
The rock puncher punched the rocks cause he would be looking for those little exploding fish that scare the shit out of everybody according to the wiki before it was scrapped it also wasn’t supposed to be hostile and roam around in the safe shallows
I think it would be awesome to have a leviathan monster that only appears in really dark areas and it baits you towards it with a light or something and starts to chase you as soon as you get close enough to it. Would be scary as heck.
I really hope that the Arctic expansion had (if it does come out) a separate story from the main game. Say something like Broken Tusk was a gigantic form of prehistoric leviathan contained in an iceberg surrounded by a precursor base? Then once the player turns on the base's power, this super huge leviathan stats to wake up, then it's a race against time to destroy the base's power source before the leviathan can free itself. Just a thought!
Tristan Pratt Good idea, but hard to implement. I just hope devs will make a another game, in subnautica universe, like (when the player returns, Alterra will send a scientists at 4546B) or (Alterra will be exploring some new worlds from the precursor data which player has collected, and we will find their main planet which is not infected, but all of the precursors are in some sleep, or datahub) I know that the story designer doesn't want direct contact with precursors, but I think that the story about them could be very interesting. This is just my idea too.
I really hope they add some kind of "Game Over" event in the Void. It would be soooooo creepy. Like 6:08. First you hear a roar, as a warning, go further you and you hear it again but louder (closer) go even further and the game stops and takes you into a super epic HD Game Over cutscene with this thing! Would be so awesomely epic if they did something like that...
Im just putting this out there but i think the 2nd one (from the top three) should be implemented in the void and should be called 'The GrandFather Leviathan' and here are its features: *Practically Indestructable due to the ageing process of a leviathan (as they get older the thicker their skin gets) *Passive to Players (however a meat-eater) but not to other Big fish like the fluourescent piranna (2:58) *The Ghost Leviathans guard the GrandFather and give it food *No machine or submarine of any kind can get down to its nest at the bottom of the void *it is absolutely massive and i'm thinking x2 size of a Sea Emperor and x4 of a fluorescent Piranna (2:58) Again just had a small brainstorm, nothing significant but i would love to see it in game ;)
I would love to see something the size of that that only eats microorganisms, that the "piranhas" feed on. also, if creatures like the lost river eel was down there forcing the ghost Leviathans to stay at the edge if the void, near the volcano, where the eel could not reach it, similar to why sharks stay away from shallow water. Also, there should be a set of large thermal vents, with massive "trees" that use the heat from the vents to grow huge, and have some reefback-sized herbivores that act like parasites to those trees, and they would hide in the depressions/tunnels they eat to hide from all the predators in the void. That would be a great addition, or in the event of a sequel, supporting the double-gun theory, where you crash land in the void, and possibly find another ship (maybe degassi) that would act as a safe shallows, despite being in the void.
Nah the void master leviathan should be in the void that thing would be scary it’s giant btw da void master leviathan is that big skeleton in the lost river but that is only a bit of it but I’m pretty sure most people know that anyways. But some one definitely should do a concept art of the void master
actually i think number 2, (the grandfather) is in the game, just not alive, notice how it's head looks an awful lot like the giant skull in the lost river with all the precursor tech around it?
it would be cool if there was a gigantic squid creature under the playing area and when you get too close to the edge you get smacked by a gigantic tentacle with a lot of sharp spikes that insta kills you (or any vehicle). Because the playing area is volcanic crater island that stuff grows on. And maybe it lives there beacause there so much space there. And lives on animals escaping the crater.
I love the idea of a huge monster that lives in the very depths of a void, and if you get too close it pulls you in. That would be just the scariest thing, but it would also be so interested to see it fully because I can imagine the thing pulling you in with just its huge tentacles and you don't actually see it's face until it brings you closer to destroy your sub. Even then you won't know how huge it actually is and that would just make it scarier which is super cool :,)
CrimsonFlame 666 Top 10s 1 is called the glow whale, they're adding it too the artic dlc, forgot to mention they are also adding the rockpuncher to the artic
Crazy seeing this 6 years later, things like the Rock Puncher and the early version of what i assume is the Glow Whale. I hope we see more crazy concepts for Subnautica 3
Reaction on listz I am aware of this being before subnautica below zero #10: one, this is in the second game, and two, you’re scared of a whale? #9: you said this looks harmless, and also the karaah virus makes green bulges, not yellow #8: this would probably wander in caves something like the lost rivers #7: looks a little small for a leviathan #6: you have good reason to be afraid of this, but I think it wouldn’t fit with the ghost leviathan in the dead zone #5: you call it scary either because of the arms alone, or you can’t accept that it’s friendly? #4: that looks scary for sure, wouldn’t want to be near that #3: that is also in the second game and is as tall as you, definitely not a leviathan #2: that wouldn’t be in the dead zone, but rather in it’s own biome #1-3: This is just a dark sand shark with lots of eyes #1-2: It literally says *slightly* larger than us, not a leviathan, although it would be cool if it was in the game #1-1: the regular reaper leviathan is already enough, this is just terrifying
Levy Treemaster what does anything of what I said make you think I’m a weeb? Also this is what I think of each thing on the list, it doesn’t matter if I’m two years late to seeing the vid
Awesomecrunch at number seven did anyone else realize the flourite on the seabed, possible glass enhancer/PDA upgrader that was possibly scrapped and I'm one of the only who noticed it I have a rocks minerals and gems book
The giant turtle is my favorite and also the devs should make the world of subnautica so much bigger cuz A its getting cramped B we need new sights C we need scarier creatures and maybe even some new friendlies
6:23 it looks like there’s a foggy layer below it so maybe this guy was supposed to be in the lost rivers big open cavern area where the gargantuan skeleton is and as for its size a lot of the creatures where depicted larger than they ended up being so it’s a non issue.
Hello! Somebody from 2023. Current concepts added: Subnautica base game: Sea Emperor Subnautica Below Zero: Glow Whale Rockpuncher Similarities : Detachable-head worm is similar to: Ice worm from below zero just without detachable head. Number 1 is similar to: Sandshark Mods: The Gulper Leviathan (number 6)
Broken Tusk seems like a unique version of the Reaper. Maybe it could be a hunt-able creature. A boss fight maybe. Kind of like the giant squid and megalodon in Stranded Deep.
2:28 Imagine seeing this thing while happily swimming around in your Subnautica world. I would probably panic and never play Subnautica ever again after crying in a corner for 5 hours 😅
To be honest, the game lacks some huge creature, leviathan, capable of not just drowning Cyclops, but gradually dragging it to the bottom of the Void. Just imagine: you have entered an ecologically dead zone, moved a long distance from the safe zone. Suddenly, something hit your ship from above (a tentacle? A fin? The body of the creature?), and you, having lost the ability to control, abruptly began to gain depth, occasionally getting hull holes.
Me:”subnautica = cartoon H.P.Lovecraft where H.P.Lovecraft understood more.” Sunautica:”leviathan.” Me:”at least it doesn’t brake reality.” Subnautica:”sea dragon.” Me:”... that thing...”
Creature ideas: Warper Soldier! Like a warper but they use the guns you see in the cases and you can get the alien rifle if you kill 3 warped soldiers and scan their guns. Each shot drains a quarter of a battery but deal a lot of damage. Another idea: hostile creatures mind controlled by a Mesmer to attack other predators. Imagine a sea dragon controlled by a Mesmer
10. A whale-like "Reefback" creature. 9. Giant Sea Turtle. 8. Cave Thing. (Mutant Maine Lobster?) 7. Worm+Stone Head Creature. (The worm part is a predator?) 6. A deep sea Ribbon Fish with a large predator's mouth. 5. Sea Emperor with clawed hands. 4. A "Swimming Trilobite" with tentacles to grab prey? 3. A Rock Puncher. 2. A Giant bearded creature that could kill a Sea Dragon. (Cthulu?) 1. Giant Black Sand Shark, "Humanoid Leviathans," a "Marine Native," 1.5X larger Reaper Leviathan. *What, no Jellyfish? The Australian Irukandji comes to mine, along with the Portuguese Man of War.
I am 327% sure that the 2nd place leviathan is the skull players find at the deep great reef or whatever the place is called. It is the right shape and it has four eyes
The cthulu like one could have been in the dunes, so the sound does the “are you sure what you’re doing is worth it” thing, but then you’re in a false sense of security thinking that there is joking there. Then imagine like a hill or a wreck in he middle of the dunes, you go over to investigate and the leviathan just comes up and you can’t escape and die, that would be pretty sick
Also maybe the big thing could have animations fighting ghost leviathans and maybe you can make friends with it and launch the rocket without disabling the gun, the gun shoots the Neptune once and it starts changing direction, the player falls out of his seat and looks out the window to see the gun charging up, before the giant leviathan jumps out of the water and grabs the gun, ripping it off and the energy makes a huge shockwave, blasting the Neptune back into orbit, the player climbs back into the seat and glances at the beast, as it sinks into the ocean after the shockwave... the players looks into his computer and sees his reflection as a tear goes down his eye.
Dude, warper thing kinda checks out. I dunno about you, but it says they were "Heavily genetically modified" so I'm thinking: Okay, bring it's mouth parts closer together, it doesn't need to eat, and we don't want to screw up all our attempts to make the WARPER immune to the disease by having it eat something. Secondly, bring the eyes closer in so it can spot any infected creatures together. Third! It's arms are scrunched up like that, so we just swap the floor-boxing-o-matic for claws, and keep the massive power (Minus the size of the arms so it's not complete instant death for the player) the big orange and yellow plate on it's head could be more infufused, and widened a bit in the back (Possibly on purpose or accidentally.) remove the legs you don't need em, add tentacles for more maneuverability and bing-bang-boom! You have a warper!
the sea emperor wasn't ever meant to be hostile, it was just the only leviathan ready, as the sea dragon wasn't finished and the reaper and ghost weren't thought of yet
The sea emperor is still considered hostile, it just doesn’t act that way to you for the sake of its young, your PDA says when you enter her chamber that it is sensing passive behaviour in a usually hostile creature
A blue leviathan with inverted face claws and intimidating appearance. Appears in a very suspenseful cut scene where he approaches swiftly, and as He is right by you, mouth open and all, he dodges you and takes out a reaper, and drags it down. If you go down deeper afterwards, you see a reaper skeleton on some ledge. You follow the direction he came from to see a temple, and if you do many quests that are sometimes assisted by the leviathan, the ancient king will give him to you as reward. You are able to tend to his needs. If he wants food, he can snack on fish or you can take him leviathan hunting, if you get enough titanium you can make him some armor. He is only unlocked as a permanent ally after long difficult missions to help with him being op. You can also apply a carriage so instead of a sub, you have a giant creature that eats other creatures. He won't be able to access specific areas such as the below zero dlc are specific story quests, except as a travel assistant idea given
No worries, rock punchers are still on 4546b! They can’t break terrain but are now dwelling mainly near delta station on sector zero if you want to see them again
