and where is Steve Jobs now? of what use are the multi-millions he amassed to him now? do you think he cares at this moment in time about the business 'success' he had? no all that matters is the art of dying and salvation through Christ. it's worth noting that Steve Jobs said he regretted that he had spent little time with his children. however it is said that at the moment of his death he said 'oh wow..oh wow..oh wow' - seems he was seeing something incredible.

How to determine your main purpose in life: Make your "bucket list" and imagine yourself lying on your deathbed, while looking at that list. Eighty percent of the stuff on that list you won't even care about, but twenty percent you probably will. Once you see those things staring you back in your face, you'll have a plan for what you need to do for the rest of your life. - Sandman

That very experience happened to me. When I was 27 I was told by 3 doctors that I only had one year left to live. 1st, 2nd, 3rd opinion. It was only after a year that I was given another test and was told that I would have a full life. I went through all the stages of dealing with death, the final being acceptance. I made a list of experiences that I was glad that I had and a list that I wished I could do. Travel with my first wife and our beautiful wedding was at the top of list that I had done. Raising a child or children was at the top of the list that I wished I could experience. Soon after I was told that I would be fine, my new wife and I adopted a child. Raising my son is by far the best experience I have ever had.

I do have dreams of reaching my full potential, but I'm not an entrepreneur. I don't care about the yacht or the mansion or the respect in the marketplace. I care about my moral actions, my relationships, my familial structure... And yes my ability to provide for a family is also important. But the money and status don't speak to me. Success for me meant that I overcome depression/pain and addictions. Took me 32 years to reach there but I got there eventually. Through my lenses, I define success as "not living in pain". That's my wish and prayer for everyone. As much as I respect PBD and recieve inspiration from him, I don't chase "success" in the traditional sense anymore . By traditional I mean "bigger and better" success. Those days are behind me. It took me everything to learn that balance & peace is what I need and seek. I'm content and discontent/driven at the same time but I'm not seeking "success", I seek relief, peace. That's what I wish for others too. May God bless us all.

This goes way deeper than i think Pat put it, if you are introverted; seek conversations you are uncomfortable with, and make the other person feel as if you are compassionate in listening to what they have to say, respond with compassion and maybe benevolence. Nothing is outside of your scope of knowing(omniscience) when you seek to bestow it, you may one day get to a level that you are asked what someone else seeks knowing, doesn't matter the content, seek excellence, you are going to fail; even at trying, don't give up.

Pat, I have tons of respect for you and you inspire me. Here is my struggle on such dreams and what your viewers may not have understood about the process. Fortune 500 CEOs have repeatedly said that if you want that level of success, you must learn to serve others. I know what I'm capable of, which is both amazing and terrifying. I've been broken before. I've had part of me die before. I was never the same, but on the other side was someone I didn't know was inside me. I found an indomitable will, the ability to walk through fire to any objective. I have both the will and ability to sacrifice my own life and limb to achieve any goal I set, literally. It was at this point that I found my true potential for the greatest good and love toward mankind and also the potential for the most horrific evil. I chose to live for good and not evil, but the capacity of either extreme is something that we ALL have, even if we haven't discovered it yet. Knowing what you're capable of really puts things in perspective and helped me to choose the better path. I became a police officer (not what the media will tell you is a police officer). I became an EMT. I became an accident investigator for car crashes and also just ranked 3rd out of all cops, from all agencies, in the county for detective. I became a self employed entrepreneur on the side 10 years ago, to gain experience and am now an investor and starting a larger "B quadrant" business geared toward a public-private partnership that will both reduce costs/taxes for public services (offset by private sector profit and economies of scale) and provide the highest tech solutions for forensic crash and crime scene investigation, while also providing a variety of other services across multiple industries. Having said all that, I provide service and benefits to mankind in every role and am not serving myself first. Yes, I have been blessed financially and otherwise by doing this, but my priority has not been myself. It's fine to have dreams, but I think selfishness and pride is the human condition and the root of original sin (wanting to be like God for all selfish and prideful reasons). We should be mindful of our priorities and if they are to serve ourselves or others and always remember our true potential for the greatest good and love or the most horrific evil. The path of evil starts with our pride and selfishness. Do what is good and what serves others and God will bless you in the process. If that means we attain those dreams you mentioned, that's great. I won't force the issue by serving myself first, for my own satisfaction of pride or selfishness. I am not saying dont strive for excellence or to achieve your potential, but how we are motivated for greatness actually does matter. This is the best I can condense the conversation in a youtube comment. Thanks for your videos and what you do. God bless.

I have very little desire for money, carnal pleasures, materialism, power and recognition, so I’ll continue to live my life working for the man and being content with what little I have on this earth. In the end the rich man always dies feeling lonely and abandoned because he realizes there are no true friends and no one really cared for him, only for the pleasures and comforts he provided, when his purpose in having so much was to feel loved and wanted. Having too much only adds to the emptiness in the soul. Your greatest purpose should be preparing for the life to come, a life of optimal health, peace and joy with God

How about this federal reserve thing and market manipulation. Globalism and offshoring. Having some long term stability goes a long ways towards the masses being successful. When the .com & 9/11 happened, we had a recession, when the housing crisis happened a lot of people lost their jobs and investments, then the stock buy backs and negative interest rates and the government making viruses in a lab against the orders not to do it in America & billions around the world suffer from it. Over and over again, lives get disrupted and people have to start over. We do this mess to ourselves, starting at the top

When my grandmother came close to death and I, her only relative willing to help her, stood there and made the decision that I was going to watch over her, I committed myself to be there for her. Then came my wife, then came my in-laws, then came my mother. My decisions were not hitting a wall. So, your message is for a smaller group of people who can look at themselves and say, I can devote myself to my dreams. But dreams are not all there is. The story of success depends on your focus. If your marriage and the well being of your family are your dream, you may not get that McMansion to rub in people’s faces and armed guards who make you feel important, but in this country you are equal. Many aspiring “rich people” may get their dreams, but they are going by a very narrow set of values. If everyone got the type of dream you describe, the world would be a burnt out hole. And, there is so much money sloshing around that you see communities disrupted by people who have something to prove to the world. Consigning people to being losers because they didn’t take that leap of faith into their McMansions with armed guards and trophy wives, is not spreading hope. We have enough billionaires. We need more people who are willing to work together and live realistic lives that are fulfilling so that when the final days come, you have no regrets, just a full and satisfying feeling in your heart that you did what you loved and you were the person anyone who would be proud to have known.

Chris I am not going to judge you on that one and even Pat had also said the same thing many a times. If a person is satisfied and fulfilled at whatever position he is, that's great. Because a fullfiled life is what our life is all about. There is this one guy who define success as going to mountain in Himalaya and becoming oneself meditating, and that's a success according to him and he is happy, which is great. Patrick message here is directed to that group of people who wants that high amount of success but too scared to take that tough decision. A decision they might later regret in their older life if they didn't take when they knew they had unfulfilled dreams and were graving success but failed to act on it and make that sacrifice. Again, he is an entrepreneur and this message is narrowed down to that only few people.

It's very important to teach your kid, to be responsible, to work in different projects in the same time to know what is disappointment and what is achievement, also give them proper protection and love. But it's very important those teachings to be from zero to 6 or 7 years old. Those are the crucial years of creating successful and happy person or disappointed and depressed who don't believe is capable for succeeding anything.

Whoever wishes to follow their dreams, I suggest you to read a book named "So good they can't ignore you: Why skills trump passion in your quest for work you love". That book is very pragmatic and goal oriented. It also includes the experiences of many successful people and also of people who failed. To say what you're willing to do meet the demand before you actually try it is stupid in a sense of lacking the full knowledge beforehand. It really to study well what you're planning to do. Not just have a strong opinion about blurred data about which you haven't really thought what you will sacrifice in case you fail.

Some people get too attached to material objects and they get held back. Rich people have a lot to show, wealthy people save a lot in the bank and dress in normal clothes like Steve Jobs. As far as material items goes, who cares? I buy a new car, okay, the car isn’t going to move until I move it. So having an expensive car is just for show. Same thing with any jewelry/ clothes/ misc expenses. Now, a large house is great for the space but I know families that live in a big house and they feel like they don’t have a family at all because of the amount of space between everybody I.e. they’re not a tightly knit bunch of people. Now I also know people that live in an average size townhome and they are the closest group of people I know, a well oiled and functioning machine, if you will. As for others remembering your name, who cares? I’ll give you Julius Caesar for example, to his generation he was a great conquerer probably feared by many, but to our generation he was like a Hitler for destroying the Library of Alexandria. Kobe for example and to me, I view Kobe as my superhero and inspiration. To others, he was “just a rapist” (I don’t think that at all) Michael Jordan to some the greatest basketball player ever... to others a guy with a gambling addiction ..... so it depends on who’s writing the history books and who’s opinion you actually care about. I’m sure you care more for your best friends opinion than a random guy on the street.. do you see what I mean here? What matters to you? What inspires you to want to be better? What fulfills you at the end of the day so that you say to yourself “I’m glad I’m alive and I do .....[insert that special thing right here].... everyday
