Our annual chat with NFL VP of Broadcasting and one of the head schedule-makers, Mike North. Are the Bills still going to get a ton of primetime treatment? What's happening with the Christmas Day game? And a lot more!
Mike North is great! Peter King, now retired, had a pod with him every year right after schedule release. It's fascinating to learn what all goes into it.
This is one of my favorite podcasts all year. It's fascinating to get into the analytics of the NFL schedule. It's similar to the draft. 272 individual rankings.
an excellent episode as always. Not a fan of the Christmas games by any means and on a Wednesday especially not a fan, but the nFL will make it work somehow. I predict the Bills land either the Thanksgiving, Black Friday or Christmas Day games since they had a reprieve from any holiday games last year.
re: the international games, he didn't really get into how they pick the visiting teams. I understand the home teams being the team with the extra game but do they pick the visiting teams? Do they not pick teams that have had a international game the year before?
@@thebourg The Bills are really good with one of the best players in the NFL! Chances are high they play either Thanksgiving, Christmas or both! But I see your point though.
@@goewey11 I prefer it too! The hockey comment was just about the nature of that demanding schedule which is much tougher to fit into a busy life...smile.
People are making this too complicated. It's easy. If Buffalo doesn't trade for a veteran reciever, they aren't all in for this season. They could draft the best reciever in the class. Is this rookie going to come in & be the savior? Highly doubtful. If this team doesn't trade for a vet reciever, they are rebuilding.
