Suzanne, I whole heartedly agree. The citizens of Rhode Island are fortunate to have a Senator they most assuredly are proud to send to D.C. While he’s an invaluable asset in the Senate, as a member of the S. Judiciary Committee, and Chair of the S. Budget Committee, I would love to cast a ballot for him as a candidate for president. An informed electorate would definitely make all the difference to remedy the problems he’s identified. Unfortunately, we currently find ourselves with the government we deserve. Because it is top to the very bottom. Only money rules this contry. If you are not connected or cannot afford to pay to play, justice is too expensive to afford. It's our history repeating with no end in sight nor remorse for how we've arrived here. Voting too with gerrymandering is so far limited makes the whole process a sad joke to any hopeful quick remedy. That supreme court is the worst example of a free ride paid by citizen's taxes.

Wealthy people have always been afraid of the masses who don’t generally benefit from the economy I.e. low wages, etc. Thus we have the electoral college, Gerry meandering, Citizen United, lobbyists with Boku money, etc. to thwart the will of the people. Congressional actions rarely recognize what the public wants such as tougher gun laws, corporate regulation, etc.

But we now know, that wasn't true. Alito, Rehnquist, and Thomas had been instrumental in making decisions against the ethical workings of the government. The removal of any and all regulations regarding exposing dark money in elections, and allowing corporations to donate as much money as they want to any candidate anonymously, is a perfect example.

So Hilda (or anyone else) answer me this. If "ethical and moral" statutes are established for the Supreme Court under the Federal Criminal Code, what court or judicial panel shall stand in judgment of a SCOTUS justice accused of violating those statutes? Would it not be justices from the highest court of the land? Would it not be OTHER JUSTICES of the Supreme Court itself? Would it not be the very colleagues of the person accused of criminal conduct? Would that not be a CONFLICT OF INTEREST THAT EVERYONE HERE KEEPS BITCHING ABOUT? That is the problem you are facing. You already have Constitutional language allowing Congress to remove ANY federal judge or justice. USE IT! You don't need anything else.

We have no state religion or leader. We are secular since we are so diverse. Anyone's relgious agenda does not belong to the courts ever. We saw what wars and tyranny resulted from religious issues in Europe for hundreds of years. Our founders said no. So do we Americacans 200 some years later. This Supreme Court of RWers today should resign or be dismissed by the Bar for abusing their powers for their personal religious agenda, Black monies, vacations, dinners, etc. America is better than that.
