The people who pay for it would want to watch it, but I guarantee 90% of youtube can't handle it LOL. But no real talk, Imma always put out the top tier free stuff for yall, I truly enjoy it. But I'd also love to do this full time, so giving people an opportunity to support in different ways is hopefully not too much. I make like $10 a month off youtube xD I appreciate you all no matter what.

@@FlowStateGG That excuse doesn't really hold up in my opinion. If you want to charge money to give people useful information than just say that. But claiming no one on youtube wants the in depth stuff seems far fetch. especial considering some of the largest channels on this platform our just pure science channels like Veritasium, SciShow, or Smarter Every Day. I actually feel like focusing on the more in depth knowledge is a better idea to grow the channel because almost no one else is doing that in the RocketLeague space which is pretty good untapped market.

@@asdasfdfgewqgrgyjh @MyFuture Dev I accept the criticism, that's why I pinned this. Want an open dialogue & transparency. I honestly feel like unless you've done RU-vid and seen your graphs on every video, it's hard to realize how literally a dead/boring spot for a second can cause viewers to leave. It's kind of insane how quickly people will click off of a video. I hear what you're saying though, people are already here for info, you may be totally right. The issue is that I felt a lot of this "extra info" ended up somewhat tangential and strays a bit off topic when I tried to include it. I made a judgement call that I felt it really wouldn't fit in the video cohesively. I've been in that situation with other videos so this was the decision I came to.

Personally I'd love to hear the sciencey stuff. That's actually what brought me to your channel. I think you're prejudging the community, and I'm sure you'd be pleasantly surprised at the response if you explained the concepts and studies, and took us through the data etc.

This is really interesting actually. I've always noticed that a lot of pros, even across different esports have always changed sensitivities in small increments. I've always thought that hurt you because you're changing what your brain should already know, thus you would have to relearn something. I would love to hear a more detailed explanation as to why small changes can allow us to learn faster. Anyways, great video I enjoyed it!

I think the explanation is simple (just my opinion) the difficulty increase and u are out of ur comfort zone. In rocket league, turn on the variance on bakkesmod make training pack better for learn i guess. Or try to do a training pack without release the boost button could help too

In regards to the coaching, one thing I definitely feel I need to work on is keeping up my confidence/ level of consistency. Currently, im sitting at GC1, with my peak being 1525. However anytime I play well, ive had many coaches and other people ive played with surprised that Ive never passed 1600, let alone hit GC2. The answer to that is my level of consistency. If you were to look at my rank time chart on rltracker, youd find that im consistently inconsistent. That is to say that although my overall rank has gone up overtime, to acheive so I usually go throguh 7 phases: 1) Playing after taking a break due to school or other factors. Involves me playing slightly slower. 2) The unrust phase: i start remembering how to play. 3) starting to play well but still losing games. 4) starting to play well and ranking up 5) peaking and everything i do down to the smallest of micro adjustments being perfect 6) slowing down, losing confidence in my abilities 7) forgetting how to hit the ball. With this, i may be working my way up to GC2 one week only to drop down to c3 the next. The only things ive found to escape phase 7 is either to take a break and repeat the process, or run into a teammate that carries me, not by being a smurf or triple reseting on the other team, but one that carries me by facilitating me to play properly. Ultimately, if i could get rid of the 7 phase cycle i go through, i feel like that would help me rank up massively

Checked my sensitivity settings after watching the video; both steering and aerial were set on 1.0. The only settings I didn't dear to touch to much.. not too much trouble with significantly pumping steering sensitivity, feels different, but car control seems to remain stable. fun part is how little I need to change the aerial sensitivity before all my mistakes becomes really visible. Played some matches and the mistakes gradually fades.

Welcome back flow state! It's nice seeing you here once and a while. Literally one of my favorite creators. But on a side note. I would really love to get one of the training sessions with you. I feel you're really knowledgeable about what you're saying and I learn really well from the way you've been explaining things. I currently need to work on my decision making, speed, and work on game sense. My mechanics seem good for the moment, but I am struggling with learning game sense. I seem to be improving as a player, but I'm not ranking up at all, just stuck in the same place for 3 seasons. Thank you for the consideration if you're reading this 😊

With regards to help, my major issue seem to be transitioning from a defensive mentality to offensive mentality mid-game. I am too defensive and miss too many opportunities to score or even make a pass, especially getting cut off by more ballchasey teammates. Maybe another thing would be knowing when to challenge when shadow-defending.

Wooo great video! I've desperately been trying to piece together muscle memory and this helps a lot! A way of practicing ive discovered is to use bakkesmod and change the speed to 1.3x for a bit and play freeplay but I imagine messing around with your sense could be more beneficial.

Awesome video! I'm definitely intrigued by the idea of changing settings around to improve muscle memory faster. Based on your understanding of the Johns Hopkins study, do you know if the adjustments can only be made to your car (with sensitivities, camera settings, etc.) or can you also get the same improvement by slightly changing the ball physics? For instance, do you think mixing in a bit of boomer mode every day along with normal free play training would increase your rate of improvement at reading wall bounces?
@FlowStateGG
@FlowStateGG 2 года назад
The change has to really be small for it to work. So I wouldn't say the study confirmed that, but that's not to say it cant help. I personally think boomer ball and stuff is helpful :)

@@FlowStateGG after watching this vid a couple of times to really understand this concept, I’ve thought of a fun way to implement this into my training; I’ve made a car preset for each one of the 6 hit box types (octane, dominus, breakout, hybrid, plank & merc) and numbered them 1 through 6. I prefer to use the fennec (which uses the octane hit box), so I’ve given that the number 1 spot and I’ll be using that for my standard training sessions - for my modified sessions, I’ll use a 6 sided dice to make a decision. I roll the dice, and pick whatever car the number I rolled corresponds to. If the dice roll gives me a 1, I’ll stick with the fennec and make a minor adjustment to my settings instead.

The devs admitted to tweaking the physics-based imputs, to keep people from perfecting anything and to keep the highest level players from being basically perfect. It's in a seminar by the devs that explains the creation and physics of the game and throughout the video they say how at time they will randomly tweak things. It's on RU-vid It's like an hour and a half long. And not to mention the actual quality of the game now is trash. Don't waste your time.
