DENJIRO: I am wearing a water-repellent raincoat, whereas he is wearing a regular vinyl raincoat. The water repellent raincoat repels the rain very well and is breathable compared to the vinyl raincoat. So, it doesn't get too stuffy!
I'm going to put lukewarm water at about body temperature into two bowls. Now we're going to cover each of them with different raincoats. Then, we place a piece of cellophane tape on them. The cellophane moves because of the steam coming from the water. The water-repellent raincoat made of breathable material lets a lot of steam pass through, so the tape is moving a lot. It lets steam pass but repels water. How does this work?
I've prepared a boat made of mesh. You may think the boat would let water in and sink, but when we place it in water... it's floating even though it's full of holes. We actually coated the surface with water-repellent spray, so it was repelling the water. The water that is repelled becomes round due to surface tension and cannot pass through the mesh. That's why the boat floats.
The water-repellent raincoat works in the same way. By giving it a water-repellent finish, it lets water vapor through, and therefore doesn't get stuffy. But the raindrops can't pass through due to surface tension. That's how these raincoats block water while keeping you cool.
When you put a bit of soap into the water while the boat that's coated with water-repellent spray is floating... The repellency of the boat weakens, allowing water to pass through. That's why it sank.
Let me show you something interesting using water repellency. I have a transparent board. When I let colored water run on it… the words "Happy Energy" pop up! The board actually had a water-repellent finish to the parts surrounding the letters. The letters became visible because the water was repelled and stayed in the part where there was no finish.
I hope energy will bring you all happiness. Our magic word is "Happy Energy!"
