Lonzo Ball's shot has been called a number of things, and "pretty" isn't one of them. So how will that affect this likely lottery pick? We asked Sport Science and John Brenkus to answer the question.
Livort have you tried shooting like him? If you do it right you actually get a surprising amount of power behind your shot and since his release point is still above his head like everyone else is still goes straight but that’s if you do it exactly like him
Word of advice. You can defend Lonzo without defending his form. It's possible to be a good shooter with bad form. But trying to convince people his form is good...that's a fool's errand bro.
Blo I don't know where did you find that 46%, but if you look up at nba offical website, his FG is only 34.9% and his three is only 29. something percent. Much better free throw than O'neal, just less than 50%. If he wants stay in this game and make himself a big name like Kobe or Lebron, he needs to change something.
Magicfuumaster That is true, he already wasted his first / most important season. But this is NBA, everything is possible, maybe one day he will be somehow successful.
Numbers don’t lie, but if he were to be a clutch performer in pressured situations it would make up for his percentage. However, there’s one point that is absolutely true and that is he needs to be effective and if this by changing his shot completely then it needs to be done. And I’m a lakers fan till I die
Because of LaVar, everyone expected lonzo to be great. Because of his dad, almost everyone hates him. But damn, if the current lakers roster will stay, they will be a great team👍🏻
It’s crazy I’m reading these comment and can’t see why people aren’t impressed. If he’s been shooting incorrectly this whole time, imagine him shooting nice... sick 🔥
NotMyReal Name his old coach said he used to have perfect form but then couldn’t shoot from the nba line so had to add momentum from the waste to make the distance
Practice makes permanent, not perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect. He engrained himself a sloppy shot, which is far from perfect, and super inaccurate
Ewan Pincott you definitely just made that up, his dad taught it to shoot normal but it wasn’t comfortable so he changed it to something comfortable for him
Lavar ball: Yea told you my boy was perfect and i dont care that he is shooting 20% right now because he is better than jordan he has been shoting better than steph curry from when he was born and this video proves it yea he has BIG BALLER MENTALITY Lonzo ball: Dad please stop embarassing me!!I dont shot well Lavar ball: Shut up you shoot better than rey allen better than kobe better than everybody Everybody else: 😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑
I think I know why he can't shoot properly. It a his forefinger and middle finger. For starters, I can see why he shoots like that because I experienced the difficulties of actually usuing both the forefinger and middle finger. His shooting form is not broken but it's the type that help with his weakness. If you look closely, you can see him using both his forfingers and middle finger. It's my opinion but I can say that his weakness is how he's controlling his fingers, not his form.
Talk about the release all you want, look up videos about the dip. Everyone has a dip before the shot, it's just a question of how far they dip the ball. Lonzo dips it damn near his knees. Dude's dip + release + break angle on that ball is TRASH. Open looks are open looks, can't argue that, but he's not getting that shot off in traffic. Curry's and Thompson's work because they're vertical releases.
"that shit wouldnt land in a black hole" - Stephen Hawking "that shit goin up hard , coming down harder" - Isaac Newton "shot is ugly as fuck" - Albert Einstein science has spoken.
justin perrin because he is slower from the right. if its sports science then they should explain why he is slower there. and cover all the aspects of his weakness.
every normal coach would forbid him to shoot like that, but his degeneric father probably told him to shoot however he wants... you cant shoot like this and play basketball.
Daniel James just bc he was on a stacked team doesn't mean he wasn't great. magic was. and halfway into his rookie season kyrie was really good idk what ur talking about
His jumpshot couldnt go in if you put a lock on target on his hand. No fundamentals in that shot at all his feet aint square to the basket he shoot on the side of his head and his wrist flick is trash
steph's shooting form isn't good either, the difference is he has perfected it and is effective for him, but that doesn't mean everyone should start shooting like steph.
