This is the biggest event in eve so far, and they're not letting nullsec get away with ignoring it

I just love how CCP didn't announce it and it definitely seems like this is their role playing lead up and justification for finally fixing something that they themselves have said was not intended design. Well no I lost track of my point it's not the creativeness of the technicalChange to how local chat will tell you who's in a system, it's how hard they're trolling the player base it's beautiful there is no other way to say it

Are people not allowed to play eve for other reasons without being harassed by other players looking to satisfy their egos?

PvP wherever and whenever? Dude, anyone that survived Age of Wushu is to be _feared_ : in THAT lawless lands, you could be ganged on while peddling wares. Not for the faint of heart, for sure.

​@@andreacapuano585 Because of this, every nullsec alliance has enacted a trade embargo about exporting ores and minerals to high sec (including moon-goo and T2 materials) for aslong as these CCP (I mean Drifter) attacks happen.

Well if CCP want to achieve an environment where the only people who dares to undock for non PVP activities are the ones with enough alts to have at least 4 sessions running at the same time, then mission accomplished. In the end it will mean less content for PvP hunters or roams.

Tgis would actually be really cool. Especially if they use it as an opportunity to fix up the scanning ui in general. I would love to see actual in-game tools for monitoring traffic and map information over multiple systems (provided by networked chains of shiny expensive buildings that can be sabotaged or offlined). It would be really cool to have the basic functionality of something like dotlan or even zkillboard available in game but with reasonable restrictions like only seeing killboard information that happened somewhere in highsec or within scannable range of a new specialty combat scanning building, or realtime tactical maps of a battle 3 systems away in your territory and the ability to have an fc remotely scanning with a structure and broadcasting targets to the fleet but only so long as every building in that chain is fueled and undamaged (ie a small gang breaking off from the fight and crippling ANY of your Upwell "broadcast structures" means your fc losing the ability to lead the fleet remotely).

How will you find targets? Soon as anyone sees combat probes go up you can bet that cloaks will be engaged and you'll be hunted, scanned and reported on intel for a counterfleet to try and find. It's just going to be whack-a-mole since the P can't find the P to v.

Most of your content will quit until this is over, or forever if this is not over. You think null is empty now? Sure, you will be able to catch things easier, but there won't be so many things out in space to catch.

Make cloaks require fuel

In nullsec you have a local channel which shows all the current players in the local system. Without the local channel it'll be the true wild west, scanning will become essential and recon ships will become gold dust. Exciting times indeed

@@takedown205productions6 EVE doesn't require all that beefy a computer. Hell I used to play it on a mid range laptop... unless this comment was made from a phone you likely have all the more processing power you need for it.

To put it simply: NullSec is where large player organizations, Alliances and Coalitions, have control over the star-systems. They invest a lot of time and effort into setting them up the way they desire. Making more lucrative groups of NPCs spawn to be killed by PvE players (ratters), making better asteroid belts spawn for miners, ect. These organizations also set up defenses so that the miners and ratters aren't ambushed by PvPers. By in large this is composed of people watching the local chat in every boarder system of their territory for when a non-friendly player enters. This works because the local chat updates with the name of every player in system when a player enters or exits. Without this easy early warning system I expect more warp nullification bubble barricades to be set up and for these organizations to have people tasked with fully mastering all relevant skills to scanning and having them patrol scanning most, if not all, of the organizations territory. I can say with absolute certainty that any weakening (or a full removal of) NullSec local will result in more ratters and miners loosing ships to PvPers. Mining barges don't really fight. They're just pretty durable to withstand NPC attacks while mining. PvE fit combat vessels also fare very poorly against something set up for PvP. So this may also result in people starting to use less effective setups for ratting in Null so that they *might* be able to fend off a PvPer or at least better survive until reinforcements come.

hordes of VNI's? we use rorquals and supercarriers.. and we definitely don't do something as stupid as bot in them You might wanna look into moon-goo and how it equates to a supply of T2 Ships and Modules

goons are by far the least of botters. They actively fight them in the alliance. A recent report by CCP had them far down the list of alliances that host botters. With 5k members you are going to get some bad eggs...
