The Urban Gentry yes, very slick marketing and production - the cost of which is passed onto the consumer in the form of a retail price more than double the normal [and excellent] Seamaster 300. The grotesque over application of faux patina doesn’t help either. Hard pass.

Its beautiful, but the roundabout 3k swiss frank „bond-premium“ on the price is hard to stomach. Its not even limited. :-/ The Black Bay 58 is a nice, affordable alternative. Still, nice design and Im glad theres no „007“ reference on the dial.

@@experiment54 How would you know? Rich people don't get rich by wasting money. John Paul Getty, once the richest man in the world, was known to be frugal. Leonardo DiCaprio as well. Michael Jackson on the other hand paid no attention to the money being spent and ended up broke. I'd say it's more likely someone with no money would buy a watch like this to give the impression they have wealth than the other way round. Someone confident enough to say "it's too expensive" likely has the resources to buy one but doesn't feel the need to impress.

@@workdevice7808 This would be a horrible watch to buy to impress, it doesn't have a common name such as a rolex. Unless you plan on showing your receipt with the watch I font think you would buy this to impress. Its just a very well designed watch, will last decades and aficionados will get the money together if they like it that much, the huge spike in price for the bond branding is steep none-the-less

@@KevTheMedic I agree the extra money for the Bond branding is not worth it. I gave up on Bond when he became 'troubled' and M started fussing over her agents. By all accounts the latest Bond film is a stinker - screenplay by a feminist! I don't want to see Bond any more so I wouldn't buy this watch. But I do like the watch. Omega is definitely a known brand; it was an Omega that was approved by NASA for the moon landing. Omega have tinted the Luminova paint on this watch to make it look aged, as the watches from the Ian Fleming era used to (didn't have Luminova back then, I cant remember what they used but it used to age to the colour of varnish) The Broad Arrow above the 6 denotes 'Government Property'. I've used copper nails marked with the Broad Arrow on my boat so I quite like that touch. I guess if I saw someone wearing the watch I'd definitely be interested. I'd be happy to wear one. Wouldn't pay the extra money for Bond.

It's supposed to give to give the illusion of having aged lumes. Which is why the dial and bezel are that brownish (tropical) color. All done to give the watch an aged appearance.

@@BadeniaFilme Oh I completely agree. I get what they were trying to do, however, aged lumes don't age that perfectly or to that color. If you want to see a beautiful aging process, check out Laco's Erbstuck B-uhr's. Now that is how it's done.

A ceramic bezel would have looked awful and shiny. Strengthen aluminium was the only choice.
