In 1993 Barry Reynolds published a book (Pike On A Fly) that electrified fly fishers by helping them to realize how much fun pike are to catch on a fly. His favourite place to go for giant pike? Saskatchewan! One of the top destinations in northern Saskatchewan for massive pike is Cree River Lodge. In this special full-length video Jenna McKeown visits Cree River Lodge and is guided by one of the top fly fishing guides in the province to catch some incredible monster pike....all on a fly rod! Plus she had the bonus of some outstanding Arctic Grayling fishing with dry flies!

I fished here last summer! PB of a 44" pike....phenomenal fishing & top notch people!!! Heard of guys catching 50" pike on the fly

Cree River Lodge is one of my favorite places in the world. My wife and I have caught pike to 48 inches and walleyes to 31 inches, even walleyes on a fly rod. Chip is more than a top shelf guide, he's a pike professor with many years of experience. Great video. I'm planning a return visit again this summer if the virus doesn't get me. Love your shows. @@newflyfisher I think it was great to see a young lady angler landing jumbo Pike like a pro. Few anglers can say they have done what you made look so easy. Those Pike were all trophy class fish and don’t expect seeing ones like them everywhere. You are hooked for life on fly-fishing now or should be. I must say you and your guide did a great job releasing those beautiful fish too. Anglers can fish a lifetime and never have the success you had. That is one fishing adventure you should never forget.

Pike have that furrowed brow and perpetual frown and I’ve seen a 10” pike try to eat a 14” Sauger. It’s like they’re just pissed at the world! Much respect for Esox Lucius!

Once again like always you make awesome videos, it’s my dream to go to Saskatchewan and fly fish some pike. I have one quick question, what fly fishing combo would you recommend to me for 150-175$ for pike?🎣🎣🎣

There are numerous reasonably priced starter packages available from different companies in that price range. Ideally you want to get a 8-10 weight rod with matching reel and floating fly line. Orvis has their Encounter rod/reel/flyline in this price bracket: www.orvis.com/store/product.aspx?pf_id=8P45&dir_id=758&group_id=759&cat_id=5978&subcat_id=7309 But I encourage you to check out all the brands that are available and good luck fishing this season for pike!
