It’s so good to feel like every pick is a good pick, just go for whatever you are feeling the most. Level cap 25 also makes it so easier to try different new classes and roles. Cant wait for SoD
Maybe this Season of Discovery is a good time to branch out a little and move outside of my comfort zone of always playing a Warrior maybe this time- ... wait! Did he just say Gladiator Stance?
It looks like it's gonna be a lot of fun. And I think releasing stuff in tiers is a good idea. I enjoy leveling alts so the lower level raid is really appealing to me ngl
Yep, was a fantastic idea to release it this way. They are actually doing a new take on Classic right and im very, very happy. Im so excited to try this.
Just dont pick a class because a single ability looks broken and OP, it will probably be nerfed, and then youll cry, so play the class you like . I will be playing Paladin and Druid tanks, probably will check Warlock Tank after i see some gameplay videos .
I was like that when i started playing RPGs, trying all classes it all looked interesting, but now i know with what i have most fun, tanking or if needed playing some plate damage class with 2 handed weapon. All classes look cool in their own way and im happy we are getting many buffs and new abilities, it will be wild and groups will be much more randomized than in Classic and Era@@rickfairfax9631
At least the brightside is leveling shouldn't be ridiculous to get back up since the call at start is 25 and once they raise the cap you'll get joyous journey until previous cap biggest reason I'm playing tbh. But I'm picking mage because healer mage sounds cool
To be clear, Protection Paladins: The Rune of Hand of Reckoning (Gloves) does not 'give you an extra 80% threat', what it does it increases Righteous Fury which is already 60% (untalented) extra threat from your 'Holy attacks' and makes it 80%. So it just increases your threat by 20% overall. (Now, I am unsure if it's treated and multiplied by the tier 3 protection tree talent which is Improved Righteous Fury (+50% more threat) or if this is simply letting you skip it and have a similar effect. -- Testing will need to be done.
Whatever class can farm for or use Tunnel Picks and Darksteel Bastard Swords too. These are around the new level cap and are easy to get. Gotta keep an eye out for specific mob drops, like the ogres in loch modan also have two-handers!
@sproosemoose9348 paladins are not good healers at lvl 25. Most of what makes them great healers is their mana sustain but they dont have that at 25, all they have is expensive single target heals.
@@peterg.5276let's just hope people won't kick you for not playing an s Tier class, because that's the kind of stuff that happens in current classic/retail
They devs could theoretically begin wow 2 now by using classic plus as a platform to jump from amd go in different directions insteas of following expansions that came out already. Thatd be the dream
Unless we want to min-max our class (engineer 240 for example and farm lvl32 mobs for a specific loot) we will probably be able to go up 2 to 3 classes and reasonably do the "pre-raid" PvP and raids. For me it will be mage first, then rogue and priest.
I honestly think with all the time we will have we have a unique opportunity to try them all out. For me, I’m interested in playing paladin, warlock, Druid, rogue, and mage. I don’t like the way priest feels, or id be excited to try. Warrior could be kinda nice, still on the fence on how it feels. Don’t roll horde so shammy is out, plus don’t like totems. Might play hunter just for fun, I always end up quitting it though because endgame is so disappointing for pvp
Spriest's 3 main vanilla spells still won't scale if they're still in their patch 1.12 balance state, the number I've seen online is that SW:P/MF/MB scale with spell power about 40% as effectively as a Mage's Fireball does, and 2 of those spells can never crit, and the one that can crit has a relatively long cooldown compared to fireball/frostbolt/shadowbolt/starfire/wrath/lightning bolt, and lacks a 100% crit bonus damage talent. That means spriest will scale well under half as much as mages with spell power and crit, and their crits will always hit for 66% of the damage of every other caster's crits on only 1 measly spell that has a long CD, plus spriests have no crit in their talents and hover at around 7% crit at 60, maybe if you're lucky you'll get to 10% but that would really be a waste of crit gear. Also they oom in less than half a minute at 60 and there are no mana changes yet, just new expensive spells to oom you faster. Spriest looking rough atm.
They should have changed shadow word death from the boring execute with CD to an ability that scales with the number of dots the priest has on target and then doubles damage and crit chance in the execute range. No CD but the backlash debuff stacks up 5% HP, 10% HP, 20% HP if used with the debuff on the priest. So you’d have to manage not killing yourself.
fireball is a 3.5 second cast, spells of 3 seconds or higher typically have 100% scaling, shadowpriest is a special case because they dont have other dps spells than the 3 original + the new ones.
@@1776huckleberry pets can gain a taunt and increased strats, yes. but we still don't know, if they get proper scaling in lategame, can't get crit immunity like the other new tanks and they still don't have any form of AOE. so it is almost impossible, to keep agro on more than 1-2 mobs
I have a strong suspicion a significant majority of the player base wants to play Alliance. The PvP servers will have forced faction balancing (to what extent, we don't know yet, maybe 60/40?). PvE servers though, without balance, I think we may see much higher ratios of Alliance to Horde.
@@sergioperez2771 i haven't given it much thought in that regard but many of my friends have said that alliance have it better for pve so far unless some changes are brought to passives and also runes.
Easy. Fire Mage with 15% crit, Bomb, Icy Veins/Surge. any Hunter spec with Explosive Shot.Destro Warlock with Master Channeler,Meta,Incinerate (put up incinerate and 2 dots, then kite ppl spamming insta searing pain). Palain with Crusader Strike, Divine Storm + X. Thank me later. Those specs will dominate the 25 bracket unless there will be shifts in damage or other surprises.
was also thinking fire mage could be really fun. Unfortunately they dont get full improved scorch or have enough spell crit to sustain ignite. But im thinking they are going to be a powerhouse at 40 with combustion and good talents deep in fire tree. Either way im definitely rolling a mage as my first character due to being good at PvE, PvP, and farming.
Im stuck between hunter, mage and shaman. I wanted to play pally but the server we chose is full on alliance characters too bad i started a bit late ( last night ).
Why you gotta tease me like that lol. I thought maybe they were adding blood elves to SoD since you showed them for the Paladin segment, but doesn't seem to be the case. I am hoping to see blizzard add paladins/shamans to both factions and/or blood elves and dranei. After all, SoD is about exploring new things and having fun, so I don't see why it would be an issue.
Probably picking a warrior first. Basically same gear, just 2 weapons and a shield, will last for a loong time before having to pick up specific gear pieces for either spec. As a secondary character, probably Mage, again, similar gear for damage and healing, and I will have covered all possible roles, tank, heal, melee, range. We'll see just how time consuming this season will be! Very excited for the weekend!
Priest here, and let me tell you... Penance and Prayer of Mending in SOD are GAME CHANGERS. I never play healers, and I would be absolutely garbage without these. All the other spells cost way too much mana, and there's no MP5 gear at 25 to significantly offset it. Penance and POM make up about 85% of my heals in the BFD raid thanks to being much more efficient.
Man I rly like that u used my paladin footage in 00:21-00:29 but at least put channel name in video background, or use a link next time. No hate, no offense bro 🤣
I feel like I would want to go for a DPS rogue. With that being said, I think it would be also pretty cool to try to make a Tank rogue build. Will the respect options be super affordable to the point I'd use the same character for both builds? Or will I need to create a new rogue character just for the tanking? 🤔 The latter option sucks tbh
@VinnyOrzechowski no we don't they purposely didn't release all the data on them. They even said there are many that are completely hidden. We only have access to the starter runes, there are many more in phase one. They even said, they wanted us to have surprises. And encourage you to think outside the box and go to far out reaches and cave, etc to find them.
A cool idea for classic+ would be a paladin build where they can use a 2h polearm and shield. Giving them even more defensive/offensive hybrid capabilities. It could be their version of titan's grip talent.
How will Horde tanks be able to hold threat if Horde doesn't get some sort of raid wide Salvation? Everyone's getting massive DPS increases, but not seeing so much for warrior tanks.
I will 100% stop tanking if I have to wear a shield. The best thing to come out of classic is the fury prot, and I'm sure 90% tanks agree. Fuck shields, boring as shit. Furthermore, if aggro is just a non factor in sod like it was for many expansions of retail, im also not interested. Tanking is the epitomy of boredom if damage (and dw) and threat aren't a big factor. If I'm legit just doing classic level mechanics and clicking cds I might as well do something else
so happy shaman tanking is a full on thing now. I've meme spec'ed a shaman tank and it struggles in SM cath/armory till you get mail, then falls off around ST/BRD completely. I'm very interested to see how they will balance these tanking specs that usually don't have access to +defense. Its what held back bear tanking from truly competing with warriors in classic. They are just giving the alliance another MASSIVE PvE advantage. Fear Ward, Blessing of Salv, and the addition of Paladin tanks PLUS druid windfury. Where is the horde's blessing of salv and fear ward...
Horde has other advantages and horde gets double windfury totem with a Druid and Shaman. But horde also.has more access to better weapons through horde only quest and mobs only horde can kill/farm.
Everyone is talking about tank Shaman, but I really think Fire damage Shaman is being overlooked. In PvP it should be really insane with the right talents, and as far as PvE goes, Curse of Elements boosting your fire damage will be very nice.
@@pokeylope6108 windfury doesnt stack with druid's swiftstrikes... paladins get both grace of air and strength of earth totems as a buff and doesnt reduce their classes ability to cast anything else useful.
@@narhwallord6985 dw sham with double firey damage weapons and Flametongue will be nice. also fire nova totem isnt a joke. that 5% spell hit is just as good if not better than +5% melee hit from DW spec. I could see spell power stacked shamans doing melee dps while casting. if they get malestorm weapon proc it will be interesting. The problem is shams need the 9% spell hit ontop of a minimum of 9% melee hit.
They all look fun again. That's a really good sign. I'm leaning towards Demo and Affliction lock. Always been a fan. Though shaman tank has been a fantasy of mine since my first TBC dungeons hehe. So excited! And only 8 more days!
I have always wanted to try spell power hunter, but for some reason I can't shake the feeling that it's still not going to be a good pick versus normal hunter.
Huh, wonder how elemental will perform once we get to molten core, because unless they change the mobs' resistance to fire damage lava burst is going to feel a bit awkward.
That's actually pretty cool that they're evolving Classic WoW down a different path than before. I thought they'd just do the same crap all over again.
Shamans Way of Earth also can be very useful at pvping. Crit penalty reduces damage AND separate shocks cds can fiz shamans survivability and make his burst damage too much burstier
I wonder, are the better hunter pets worth 15% or less of a hunter's total damage? Lone wolf hunting sounds fun to try but the minimum range thing is not worth the headache if the overall damage isn't at least equal to having a pet.
Nerf to lone wolf and sniper training was needed. Damage multipliers would be nuts. Even as a main hunter. Hope other classss get tuned down a bit on the damage side
so warrior's %20 bonus damage ... but only we get hard nerfed and paladin still with those buffs mage's and warriors still going to beat us in dps race
for lvl 25, you are prob right. if you consider lvl 60, where hunter was a poor DPS class while warrior was everything, the nerf looks VERY questionable. because hunter would need those kinds of multipliers to keep up. instead warrior gets yet another hard scaling ability to get even further ahead. also lone wolf seems dead now, as you now basicly put your pet DPS on the hunter. it is a lvl 60 raid only rune now, where the pet stops scaling and starts to die to random AOE stuff. but it is on a lvl 25 runeslot and uses a slot, that could have been a more interesting rune for low level hunters instead
Warrior all the way baby, being able to charge in combat and in def stance as well as use thunderclap in def stance with devistate. Prot at 25 going to be fire
The point is not if shaman dual wield will be viable or not. Shaman 2H is one of the coolest class fantasies in Classic and it's been completely ignored and replaced by whatever they became in TBC.
