Just finished part 2! It's my french exam tomorrow now (if you saw my last comment, hi!!) and I think I can actually answer and question abt this book now. Simone de Beauvoir is a very interesting woman, and her feminism is such an important thing. Thank you for this video, I could not read this book in a weekend

It is difficult to disagree with de Beauvoir's views on marriage. The average age of marriage by country supports this claim. While the age of marriage is high in geographies where individual freedom is high, we see that the age of marriage decreases in places where social pressure has a high impact on intimacy between the sexes. In this context, the decision to marry seems to turn into a symbol for the legitimacy of one's identity in public, rather than individual evaluations.
