Southgate's fear of loosing is the problem. Kane should be dropped. Play Toney. Get the wingbacks forward. Go for it. If we don't win, so be it, but let us get beat trying.

He should play Trent. Wingers with quick acceleration and tricky movements that like to go around instead of cutting in are the worst for Trent but the Dutch will most likely play Gakpo who is the complete opposite. Doesnt have quick acceleration and likes to cut in more or lay a cross. All Trent has to do is keep positional awareness to avoid Gakpo making a run in. A creative fullback is a must when facing that Dutch backline so this is the perfect game for him instead of someone like Walker.

Kane now knows that no matter how badly he plays he won’t be taken off. And Gareth seems okay with him slowly jogging about the pitch without pressing. If Gareth was urging him to press and stay high from the side line, and took him off when he was ineffectual, then you’d see a different Harry Kane

Usually agree with everything you guys say but Saka ripped there wing back apart all game and beat his mark 4-5 times. There was just no runs in and around the box. I think we pressed well in spells just not for long enough. Overall a close game but again improvement is needed. Better performance than we have seen however. More balanced team without foden playing wide and cutting inside all game. That’s been the issue for this team. Play foden central or not at all and get palmer or Gordon on who can replicate what Saka did just from the left

Kane is just annoying to watch at this point, I don't want our striker to be dropping so far back into midfield, it just makes no sense, cos no one is getting forward when he does drop deep. He was the reason we drew against Denmark giving the ball away for them to score. And then against Switzerland he's running around with the ball in our own penalty box. Haaland, Mbappe and other strikers wouldn't be doing that.

Kane is going to play, it’s simple. What Gareth should do is get runners along side him. Drop a “10”, Foden/Bellingham/Saka, who all want the ball to feet and play someone Watkins/Gordon as a support striker or out wide. That way, when Kane drops, you have someone staying high and threatening in behind, giving defenders something to think about.

I love that we are in the semi’s again and as Englishmen all we do is complain. Imagine how the french feel. Got to a semi’s and only scored 1 goal the others own goals. At least we’ve scored 5 legit goals. It’s poor football but god growing up I would have killed to get to the semi finals consistently.

@@Sinha010tbh Switzerland is actually quite strong and it isn't the only strong teams southgate's England have beat. Yes, southgate have some problem but tactic and back 5 formation is actually decent before scoring goal first. The problems are other things. For now, all we can do is trust southgate until we're knocked out or we win. I wanted southgate to win it as redemption for 28 years. But ofc, if England lose this, southgate out. No more mercy.

How can anyone suggest not picking Harry Kane. That is pure madness. Toney and Watkins couldn’t lace his boots. Toney had not scored in about 13 games. Kane got 44 in 45 for Bayern and has two crucial goals at this tournament. The top scorer has three. He is one of the best finishers in the world, a shoot form anywhere, drop deep, hold up the ball, can pass it brilliantly and head it. What more do you want. He will be starting every game left of this tournament. He is unstoppable virtually. Great captain and leader. Look at what Shaw and Alexander-Arnold send about him yesterday. Enough said. Kane is class. Stupid talk of dropping him. Hope he scores tomorrow and in final.

i have a feeling this game will be something different than the last few we’ve seen from england, for better or worse,, but i do think it’ll be different. or maybe not, maybe cuz it is a semifinal now and against a more prominent country they’ll shy away a bit and just throw jabs and keep it even from nerves,,, but i feel like the netherlands wont play that game with them, and they’ll be dangerous and if so, that could spark something in england, good or bad

No criticism but I'm surprised you guys thought we did so badly. I felt the first half was pretty okay. I think having a proper left back unlocks this team and we will start scoring. Foden had a decent game but saka was his only option, thankfully Saka was at his best and not at left back. Kane isn't slotting in either so another option that isn't working for us in the attack. I felt tactically we got a lot more out of bellingham foden and saka. The second half and extra time wasn't good at all, reactionary and too slow, all discipline went (maybe that's good). But penalty shootout was world class, so proud of them guys to step up and do that.

Foden PR is too high to drop. Southgate has completely unbalanced the team to fit him in. People and English pundits think he's a creative 10 that will run games but he's never been that, he scores more than he creates. He had a good 20 minutes and then the Swiss dropped off him and said "go and create something from deep" and he couldnt. Kane needs a pacy goal scoring winger to play with. Sterling or Rashford would have been better even if they had bad seasons.

Harry Kane isnt playing up front though, hes basically playing a number 10. Hes not there when Saka is getting past his man and getting balls in. Id start Toney who holds the ball better, can turn better and run at players and most importantly, he'll stay up there and poach goals.

My take from this discussion, particularly talking about England being agressive and attacking is that many Engalnd teams have done that in the past 30 or so years and got no-where. The 'Golden generation' ran themselves into brick walls time after time and looked tactically stupid , manager after manager. This team under this manager gets results when they matter - regardless of entertainment value they get results. Blows my mind that so many pundits give their opinion on how the team should play when we are perrenial losers with no knowledge of what it takes to win, the closest we have come to winning is Gareth Southgates tactic's so we should all just watch and maybe learn something!!?

What annoyed me the most is Gareth came out after and then tried to rub it in the fans faces, like you've just won a match to get into the semi-final talk about that, not how you've been moaned at by the fans... You get a big player in your team you build the team round it, but we have mega players so we need more team spirit, do you play Kene, can you not with his record, i agree we miss the goals threat in set plays, like food head. We need the players on the pitch that make a difference ie. You have to play foden, Jude and palmer the 3 arguable the best players in the world

The frustration i have with all of the negativity is it doesn't matter how you win as long as you win. Would you rather be sat there saying we were awesome but lost or the fact is we beat Switzerland, who had beaten Italy. Fozzy you have always said it may not be pretty but a win is a win. We are all great armchair critics and we will all dig at Southgate. But he's got us to 3 semi-finals out of 4, one final and if we come away with the Cup who cares. I've watched so many games where we have played our hearts out and lost, I've seen us lose so many penalty shootouts and this time round I didn't think we’d miss. Southgate may not be doing the things we all think he should do but if he comes away with the cup he will be the most successful England Manager since Sir Alf Ramsey. Lets not judge until the end of the tournament. We have players that can change a game in an instant. Bellingham did it, Kane did it, Saka did it. I disagree I think the Dutch will be worried, England have got to the semi’s not playing as we know we can, we turn up at the right time and the Dutch wont cope with us. Or we will carry on as we have been and just have that moment of magic. If we are sat in the final on Saturday I don't care, simple

Nah, you need to get rid of Foden. So inefficient that it is ridculous. Makes it so easy to defend against you. Up front Watkins would be an option but what does it matter when all you do is give the ball to Foden who turns, turns and turns just to pass the ball backwards.. Toney might be a physical player but he has lost a lot of his edge imho. His first touch is kinda meh and shite. Play him and see Pickford spread balls into areas where you don't actually have anyone unless you're behind. Southgate is a pragmatic reacter, that will never change. I think he might have posters of Capello on his bedroom-walls and possibly also an altar where he prays for courage from Don Capello. From an outside view it would've been really easy to take on any team, but mistakes were made already before the tournament started. The squad is not balanced at all, there are players at home better than in the squad. How you don't bring a leftback that can play from the start is so bad but even worse is the decision to play Foden in a position where he isn't even top-5 among the English players. I expect a dreary history where both teams will be waiting for mistakes from the opponent and it will end 0-0 and Netherlands win 4-2 on pens.

Yes on the basis of past form. But every game is different and maybe Southgate has taken the risk that the players he has he believes will do the business at the end of the tournament will sort it out themselves given their pedigree. His job is to protect the team from defeat while they work out the best formation.

@@Edge-of-Reason weird how both Spain and Germany that go inyo each game trying to win and dominate are the two teams that have commited the most fouls. And I wouldn't consider fouls, yellow and red cards to be cheating. I think there is a quite big margin in football between breaking the rules and cheating since cheating implies you get an unfair advantage over the opponent and commiting fouls and getting cards doesn't give you that

So legit question would this be considered cheating or like a unfair advantage I can see if the stuff was on like the coaches books or him studying video like that but taped to a water bottle you grab after every shot is that fair game i legit don’t know but loving these euros so far don’t get me wrong im not saying it’s like deliberately cheating but more of a unfair advantage because I haven’t ever seen other goalkeepers do this

Turned this off partway through. Unbelievable how nobody, even the Fozcast, can stop the negativity and just support the boys when we’re in another semi-final. Did England play to their fullest potential? No. But this narrative that we weren’t the better team in the past two matches is rubbish. It’s almost like you’re forced to say everything with this toxic undertone of negativity. Ffs.

@@dondamon4669 mate Bellingham scored the equalizer vs Slovakia & he was PLASTERED all over the thumbnail/title for their video about the game and they spoke about him for half of the video. Saka does the same thing the following game against better opposition and he isn't in the thumbnail and barely gets a mention in the video? It's weird.

I thought we played alright over all I wouldn’t say we was poor . Was a big improvement from the previous 4 games . We need to drop Foden he offers nothing in an England shirt just slows it down and plays it safe. We have players like Palmer , Watkins , Toney . Can all do a better job

@@TR4zest Yh we’re still not playing how we should be with the inform players we have but tbf there is only Spain who are actually doing that . But if you take the positives Switzerland have been pretty good this tournament and we made them look pretty poor . I thought we played alright overall but we still need to have more shots like what Saka did as Kane doesn’t seem to be in the right positions when we put the ball in . Also the penalty’s was class . Hopefully we improve as the games get harder maybe
