There's some tunnels that nobody knows where they lead to, in the side of a hidden lake.. We set out to find out where the tunnels lead. part 2 is where we go underwater to see what is down there!: • Secret Emerald Lake Wi...
The presence of the fish is always fascinating - you gotta wonder what their story is... how they got there, how many generations are there, what the biodiversity is like, if genetic drift has happened in the time they've been there etc.
catfish are extremely resilient creatures. they can survive in many different types of conditions, some times even crossing small stretches of dry land in search of a larger body of water. i believe they can even lay eggs in the mud and be preserved for an extended period of time, and should the water level rise or a flood happens, the eggs can be relocated to other places.
I found you guys recently and have binge watched a lot or your videos. This is the first video I've actually had to wait for. I keep wanting more, but then I realize that you have to literally crawl deep into a cave for hours to make one of these. I appreciate all the work that goes into your content, from the adventure to the editing. You're a talented team and it shows :)
I find water filled quarries absolutely terrifying because the water is ice cold ,the sides are usually walls of stone going straight up and down and most are hundreds of feet deep. We have one up here in Northampton county in Pennsylvania 900 feet deep which is hard to imagine. You guys are fearless I would probably die of heart failure instantly if I ever were dropped in the middle of one of these dark green water filled quarries.
No worried, the cold water would start shutting your body down and youd drown before your heart fails. Thats why swimming in those is not advised, people dont realize how cold they are and how it affects your ability to swim
i love swimming in the slate quarries! pa has so many good spots, just got to respect them, keep em secret, and clean up trash so the owners dont gate them off
With the water so clear, if you had a second gopro to hang over the side of the boat to film underwater...that could add some exciting footage to add to the handheld video. Or use a stick and dip it in where the light is strong enough, seeing those fish and the mineral encrusted rocks would be cool.
Freaks me out how many videos I see where something is forgotten or not brought along out of precaution. Like, umm, climbing ropes, etc. Please dont die. We like you guys!
Been watching few cave gone wrong (alright, quite a lot) than this bros show up and give that nudge of a feeling this is exactly what we should be doing! Amazing stuff and great effort guys! Unbroken raft taking you places
Why not bring an ultra violet lamp? Some of the minerals in the cave walls would likely light up and look amazing. Thanks for your content - just discovered your channel. This upload is calm and peaceful 🙂 I know its probably not advisable, but the water almost looks like you could swim and dive down some. It being crystal clear, makes it seem a little 'friendlier'? Cold though.
Great idea mate, I just wander how all the caves they were in, would look with the UV light..must be like in different dimension with all the colours which would show up
Love your adventures! You take us places that for whatever reason many of us wouldn’t go to or ever get to see (especially those squishy caves - my favs!) But the one thing I really appreciate is your safety-smarts… knowing when to turn back so there can be many more adventures to come. Thanks guys!
I've never seen water so beautiful, and the little ecosystem of fish was the cherry on top. I know its freezing cold but I have the urge to just dive in any way lol. Absolutely gorgeous.
is it just me but I'm always half expecting some Gollum type creature to be crawling around the walls at every corner or a freaky thing swimming under the water.. I think I've watched too many movies 😂Awesome footage as always 👊
Also it's like going back in time to see how lakes looked like before we destroyed them, how the Earth looked what a spectacular experience you boys are having and thank you for showing this beautiful Water to us!
thats not exactly what this is, its not a pristine lake, its an abandoned man made mine, a massive hole that was just left after men got what they wanted from the earth for profit and rock quarry. Nothing natural about it. It is still beautiful tho.
This lake area is stunningly beautiful! The water is amazing! Those tunnels are the type you dream of, portals to another world! -Amazing find! Thank you guys for taking us along!
1st thing I thought seeing that water... It would be a perfect spot to camp in one of those inflatable tents you can take in water.. Great video, love seeing this stuff. Stay safe!
That lake, it just takes your breathe away, it's gorgeous!! Living in SW Texas, there are no beautiful lakes, and when I see that lake, it's just stunning!!
Nope, no lakes here in the Big Bend country, but there are a fair amount of deep underground streams and lakes. The deepest underwater cave in the US is just up the road near Balmorhea.
Oh my goodness I'm 4 minutes into the video and y'all are freakin me out already!! Lol I love it!! This is goin'a be an incredible adventure!!! Yay!! Ty so much y'all rock!! Peace and much love to y'all all be safe out there!! 😳🤣😁✌❤💯🙏
I started watching this channel out out fascination of caving and under ground exploration. One thing I love about your vids is that your thumb nails are 100% real.
As a kid, there was/still is, a great quarry where I grew up near in NE OH. This reminds me of it. Me and my friends would spend all day swimming, exploring and having the time of our life!
you guys are goofballs LOL! The tight squeeze with your face and the boat cracked me up! Looks like great fun! Even though spelunking scares me, I watch you guys to help me get over my fear!
As much as I love seeing the formations of the rocks, the fishes, the gorgeous clear water and the unexpected tunnels. I’m always relieved when you guys head back out.
I actually did this same thing in a cave once. I had to pack in the raft and inflate it after we got to the water. We followed it back to the sump where the spring came up and found an awesome dome about 50' wide and 11' deep. I had the exact same thoughts.. hope my raft doesn't deflate right about now.
This would be an amazing place to scuba dive. Great for beginners especially. Very clear water tunnels are cool but not difficult to navigate. If I was rich I would definitely try to buy a place like this and open a scuba school hah.
Experienced divers have died here and diving is illegal and dangerous, certainly no place for beginners, all it takes is kickin your fins wrong to stir up so much fine silt that visibility goes from great to zero and exactly what a beginner would almost certainly do, then panic cause he can't see to get out and stir up more.
So beautiful, the colors, the place, the water, just wonderful. See forward to see some footage of the Gopro in the water as well and see some of the drone footage as well :)
I love you adventure reminds me of being a kid exploring would’ve been nice to have had some scuba gear some underwater lights I really enjoy your show thank you so much
Me and some buddies fished in a quarry once and noticed a pretty big log on the bottom of the clear water pit only to realize later that it was a giant catfish! Not joking! It was about 6 feet long and had to be a couple feet in diameter! Freaking wild!
Man it's crazy to see the reflection of the top of the cave, but also see through the water at the same time. And especially when the image of the cave starts waving
You guys are awesome. Love your videos. I would love to know where this is located so I could plan a trip to explore it like you did. Don't worry. I am a leave no trace camper and explorer.
wouldn't be that difficult to figure it out, they're from Georgia, this is an old abandoned marble quarry and its on a lake or connects to one that has a dam. There's another video on yt about a guy who scuba dived here and got lost & stuck in here almost died but was found and saved, he was looking for a giant catfish of all things to risk your life over. They saved him by releasing water at a dam and lowering the water level in the cave. He didn't have enuff air in his tank to swim out but he found an air pocket to stay alive in and wait for help. Be careful.
what your looking at is an old rock quary through the years with all the rain filed up with water which is non potable because of mineral deposits in the rock but still awsome to look at
Discover Meltology and turn your discoveries and adventures into boots on the ground contributions. Ask yourself why there is a quarry there in the first place. Awaken from historical Amnesia. It looked like they poured concrete mixed with waste and rebar down those air shafts with the hopes of discouraging future exploration of that totally cooked out ancient structure. The melted block work brick work and mortar lines in the arched passages were amazing and yet there were still some uniform brick sections remaining. I would love to see what it looks like with several feet of the water temporarily pumped out. Great find and thank you for bringing us along for the dangerous and enlightening adventure. Stay safe out there.
I laughed out loud when the camera shot the guy with his head up against the ceiling of the rock and pressed into his rubber raft. It was just a funny scene and he looks stuck. It just hit my funny bone I guess!
You guys need to get some merch to help fund more amazing adventures! I'll buy a shirt with " I KNOW RIGHT" I've unofficially made that your catch phrase! Keep up the awesome content!
