I think gigachadollo is probably my favourite transformation. He deserved it and it's about fucking time! The amount of massive power ups he got but with no transformations is insane.
Piccolo’s motif throughout all the show really is cultivating community. The nameless Namekian split originally because though it desired to be Kami to protect people, it had to purge evil from himself. Both Kami and King Piccolo sought to protect the world in their own image and make it grow. King Pic especially was all creating offspring, creating a new world, etc Pic Junior, aka our Piccolo from end of Dragonball into Z and onwards, has to follow that path all the way from dusk till dawn. Originally made purely out of revenge, he secluded himself from the world. Eventually, he began to find meaning in living amongst others, starting with Gohan and slowly extending his network of allies and friends. He accepted that he could not face challenges alone; teaming up with Goku, fusing with Nail, then Kami to become whole. He even becomes a teacher of the fusion dance! It seems this final upgrade he receives from Dendei was a natural culmination of what his journey has been from the start; using his terrible power to protect the people he has and has come to hold above all else. Like the trees on Namek

Popo says when "kami" came to earth he had amnesia and didn't even remember how or why he was on earth or anything before that.

Not necessarily a power boost because to gain them you already have to prove you have power. They're a reward which could mean many things. Given the Nameks consider them sacred I doubt they'd allow them to be used for personal power even from somebody who earnt them.
One of the biggest things that I have theorized is that Piccolo will be following the path to become the new Namekian god, or become somewhat closer to the holder of the Super Dragon Balls. The same follows with Gohan, as when he was given his Potential Unleashed ability by the elder kai, his hair follows the same color in his beast state as a Kais hair. It would make sense, but as he still falls under the Saiyan bloodline, though it falls under what could become divinity, (as shown when gohan and goku speak differently when facing ultra instinct vs beast), his fighting spirit is what gives him a lot more strenght
Also shenron specifically says that he gave piccolo something extra alongside his wish. Either way, it is the manifestation of his strong connection with namek and his roots
I mean at that point piccolo is also kami who created shenron. So shenron adding a bonus is like given a gift to a parent. Had piccolo inherited kami's dragon clan abilities as to not need dende boosting piccolos power would also boost his own since the dragons limits on wishing are tied to its creator. If people counted as creator after kami we might have an orange shenron too
Second transformation, most forget about the giant mode, but it was cool to know this about orange piccolo and the namekians, makes them feel like more of a people
I love how hard ppl are trying to give meaning to this transformation, as if it isn’t just a cheap way to shoehorn Piccolo into relevancy in the Goku and Vegeta show lol

I also read a theory I like, that he’s colored orange because the power came from Shenron. It’s like he’s using the power of the dragonballs themselves.
I like to think he gave that extra power to him because Kami is a part of piccolo and is shenrons creator. So he rewarded that to piccolo as an appreciation to his creator. Atleast that’s how I look at it, and the reason being for the symbol is again the same thing basically just him showing his pride and respect for his creator species
Orange picolo is basically a giga chad many resemblance to many beautiful things but i was hoping for him to grow even a single strain of hair and also get the transplant ready
Even though it's not really a transformation but some namekians can turn into giant like lord slug, so if that counts as a transformation than orange piccolo is not the first one

I remember a time where Demon King Piccolo was set free to rule Earth once again and a young child named Goku punched a hole through his chest and killed him. But before dying, the Demon King Piccolo puked up an egg that later hatched into baby piccolo, who matures quickly into a teen within a couple years and fights teen Goku for revenge at the world tournament.
The more lore this transformation has revealed in its symbolism, the more I love it. It already gives us og dbz fans what we want in a transformation again, looking powerful and intimidating, it also ties together all the elements of namekian lore. That includes Shenron's involvement by his blatant decision to give it freely as a bonus, kind of like he sensed Kami in Piccolo and wanted to give back to him for his previous upgrades and creation. The cherry on top was Piccolo going Giant Namekian while in his Orange form.
In the movie, when Dende finally completely remakes shinron with his own power. The energy Kama originally used, shinron returned to them when piccolo made that wish to unlock his power
Man I used to love this show growing up but I have genuinely no idea what the hell is going on anymore lol I think I saw denday in this video but I was never around for super sayin gods or orange nemekiAns. I lived in the days of goku fighting freiza for like 30 episodes and gohan being the last hope to stop cell. But man, I loved every f-ing minute of it. Happy to see it is still thriving. No show has ever topped the feeling I had watching a bruised and battered gohan annihilate cell into dust with a rage induced god tier kamehameha. Nothing has ever even come close to the sensation I had watching that “back in my day” . I think I just held every story or saga that followed (perhaps unfairly) to that standard. Warms my heart to see that we have the same heroes, no matter how different our generations are. Those same fictional heroes still inspire hope in those who bare witness to them. No matter how different they were to a different generation
I think the main reason it's so powerful is because it's the Full Potential of not just Piccolo, but Kami and Nail, too Both of whom were very talented and strong Namekians
Yep. Shenron still acknowledged Piccolo/Kami as the master/creator of it. Namekians are the descendants of the dragon god and they create dragonballs to share their blessings. They are also non-violent with the original "demon king" piccolo being the exception. But even the current Piccolo is only rude and battle hungry but eventually became capable of kindness as seen with his relationship with gohan. Which is a parallel to goku who is supposed to be hyper violent as a saiyan until the head concussion and Grandpa Gohan taught him to be kind. The Ajissa Tree might be the symbol of the Nameks but I think Shenron acknowledged his stance as one of the guardians of Earth and co-guardianship of the dragonballs.
