I am 40, and I grew up on these books too! I am listening today while I clean on my day off. Its amazing that these books have endured through all this time!
The fact that this is an old copy (probably a transfer of a transfer of a transfer) and a bit muffled sounding, makes it even better for falling asleep.
Been listening to these while bed bound ill. I'm 51. Had my aunts entire hardback collection at 12. Along with hardy boys. Loved them all. I needed this today.
I really enjoyed that little trip down memory lane. I started reading the adventures of Nancy Drew when I was 11 years. I’m 69 now. I owned and read through the entire collection of Ms. Keene’s and wished for more. Can’t wait to start on Book #2! 🤗
So interesting that it says grades 3-6, so that's ages 9 -12. And here am I, listening to it as old enough to collect Social Security and thoroughly enjoying it. I remember reading this a couple of times, probably in my early teens the first time and 15 or 20 years later. I like listening to books as I do cleaning and cooking, as long as I'm not to noisy.
I'm an old fart who enjoys the ND computer games, but I always loved the Hardy Boys ever since seeing them on the Mickey Mouse Club serials (Tim Considine, Tommy Kirk.) I've tried for years to collect the original versions of the original series but I'm still 20 short of the 59. Only one of my 5 kids ever enjoyed them as adolescents and he quickly "outgrew" them. His loss, lol.
I have complete books of nancy drew. And it's really awesome. She always solve mysteries. And My favorite books of nancy drew is..."The clue in the crumbling wall" this story is about, love and mystery.. Because the prince of heath castle fell in love in the famous dancer. And walt heath always call the famous dancer his little cinderella
Oh my heart be still! I am 54 and love reading Nancy Drew. I always wanted to go to the Nancy Drew convention . Not sure what it was called . Never too old for this!!!
I had many from the original series when I was in 5th grade. I devoured each wonderful mystery along with Nancy. I’m sure reading Nancy Drew books throughout my life has influenced my first choices in movies, books, tv show, and audiobooks 💖!
Omg!no way i remember reading all of these when i was a kid!im 35 n it shocks me that these books are no longer in school libraries!back when school mattered!😂
I just found 13 brand new hard back 1980s edition at goodwill and it unlocked my childhood memories. So excited to share these with my daughters before bed
im only 17 and I'm English is my second language, so i never knew Nancy Drew stories. I'm only 30 minutes in and i already love it! maybe I'm too old for them, but I love the writing style, they give off an amazing vibe ❤️
Sweetie, you're never old to read/listen to children's books. If it makes you happy, the book/audiobook did its job. Im nearly 30 and i still enjoy: series of unfortunate events, narnia, and goosebumps, etc
My siblings and I listened to these on cassette tapes during our long car rides to visit family in elementary school. It’s nice to hear these books as I remember them again.
Oh my gosh. I grew up with the Laura readings of the first 7 Nancy Drew books, but I also grew up with talking books for the blind where Kristen Alison also read books I listened to. Almost burst into tears hearing her voice read this when I expected Laura’s, seeing as I probably haven’t heard her voice since I was a young child. Wow.
I've honestly quite enjoyed the narration This was the first Nancy Drew book I've ever "read" even tho I've read it in an audiobook format it was an amazing experience. Looking forward to more Nancy Drew books and games
Thank you so much for sharing this! I had and read all of her books as a kid. This brought a smile to my face. I didn't realize how much I remembered about the story until it was read. Now only if moms hadn't sold my entire collection of books at a garage sale 👎😪
I honestly am just listening to the book cause I played the pc game of this. Nancy drew secret of the old clock by her interactive. Is an awesome detective game. I play it over and over. I'm obsessed lol
As young girls, we would eagerly await the visit of the “bookmobile” to our home during summer vacation. It was so exciting when we found a Nancy Drew mystery we hadn’t read before, but if not, we’d take an old favorite.
I'm sorry you're not giving more credit to this reader who's given you 3+ hours of FREE entertainment and a good story. She deserves it. TYVW for the reading!
This reader is actually superb. The Laura reader people keep talking about must have been outstanding if they're complaining about this. Imo this is very much a professional reading.
