Hope you enjoy the video folks. Any support is greatly appreciated, as are suggestions for futute content. Any issues with the video/ audio, please let me know.
As far as suggestions go, how about doing some videos on the Fallout London mod when it's out? Should be coming this St George's Day if all goes to plan, I'm really looking forward to it 😁
Have you ever considered covering content of major Mods and their locations and lore? Probably would be more time consuming on your end but you would be breaking ice on topics most other fallout 4 RU-vidrs don't approach. Like Depravity, Outcasts and remnants, America Rising, or Sims Settlements 2. All have expansive lore on its own and their own map locations.
Highly enjoy all your videos. Will you please go back in time and take your turn on dead money and lonesome road. That would be awesome. Please and thank you
Remember, Bradberton was the same dude who sent agents to pre war Bar Harbor to attack the Vim! factory and sabotage their vending machines, going so far as one agent firing a rocket launcher at the factory around the time the bombs dropped on America.
You should have told the reason for sending the agent(to force VIM! to sell to him. He is infamous for forcing people to sell their recipes and businesses to him) and there is some evidence the agent decided to go so far as guerilla tactics on their own initiative. It was just so strangely effective Bradburton had no reason to reign the agent in. I mean, you would think at some point even corrupt police would demand too much in bribes to make it worthwhile yet no such problem ever occurred.
Yeah as nasty as Bradberton was I still chose to shutdown the machine keeping him alive. Keeping him suspended like that was just cruel. I wouldn't even wish that on even my worst enemy, not matter how vile and evil they are. Oddly enough my main character on Fallout 4 absolutely hates Nuka Cola. To sweet and makes his teeth hurt but he loves Sunset Sarsaparilla and Vim! ironically enough. I base my main over my own particular tastes in RL. I hate Coca-Cola for the same reason but love Barqs Root Beer and Squirt.
I cant speak for Organic Chemists, however based on Walt Disney? The largest employer of explosive experts the in the US for a LONG time, maybe even today, was Disney for their Fireworks displays. They hire the best as soon as they can, and hold em. So future Fallout Disney maybe had the same things going on. Especially when they focused on biological chemistry for a soft drink
Not going to lie, i let sierra chat him up for a few days She could have made holotape after holotape on his life, the regrets he had, and more importantly The state of the U.S. and the military's secrets before the war and all the projects they were involved in. Then after a few days, i honored my word, and respected his wishes and pulled the plug. A man has the right to his own choices, to deny him choice..... Braxton truely must have been a monster, Let me guess, Enclave?
@@VineFynnthose 2 words are rather interchangeable as they are both tools designed to do the same thing which is clear grassland. In mythology the reaper is seen with scythes and sickles but the scythe appears more menacing so that's what most people see when they think of the reaper.
@VineFynn Death has also been represented historically with a bow, sword, staff, empty handed, scythe, sickle, musket, hourglass, as well as a violin oddly enough.
@@kyleoakley7708During the Black Plague, Death would use a broom and rake. The rake meant some people in the village would live, while the broom meant no one would live.
You must have missed it, but if you let him live and come back later, he changes his tune a little. "I won't deny that it's nice to have some company again.", "I'm pleased to know that even now, the legacy of my work is still appreciated. Sierra has made that very clear to me.", "You can't know how wonderful a real conversation can be until you've gone without one for a few hundred years." So maybe he'll be ok. Maybe he'll attach himself to a Nuka-tron and kill all the raiders.
This is why I feel both options for life or death are both morally good. If he dies, it’s fair since immortality is a burden and he has already served his sentence. On the other hand, maybe not being alone might help his desire to live and perhaps, maybe after 2 centuries of grueling silence, he might reform and make better choices.
@Gyrfalcon312 Yeah, that's pretty much how it went down. I did the whole meet 'n greet with each Raider group, kinda hoping that at least one of them would have some ideology that I could get behind, but they're all just variations of the same slave-driving theme. I went back to Gage, just said "Fuck it," shot him in the face, and proceeded with my rampage.
@@peterseaboldt1250I mean, the whole point of the Raiders is giving players an evil option. The Operators are probably the closest you can get to neutral, in the sense that they're (by and large) motivated by greed instead of psychopathic bloodlust.
As far as Bradburton's team being the best organic chemists in the world, I can totally imagine him purposely going around and poaching the top people from wherever they were. Seems like something he'd do.
That was my thought exactly. Like yes under normal circumstances a group of people who designs soft drink flavors, while likely talented in their specific field, isn't really anything on the level being discussed. However, this is fallout, and bradburton is a fucking nutjob even by fallout standards. Even if he *hadn't* poached top talent from elsewhere, whatever insane shit he was having them work on and resources he was dumping into those projects very well could have led to them becoming top organic chemists and whatever strings he pulled to get them there would have meant this was known
Ever since I played through Nuka World the first time, I've thought that there should have been an option to "rescue" Bradberton by transplanting his head onto a Robobrain. We could do it in the Automatron DLC, to Jezebel the Genocidal Maniac. Why not to ole JCB? Having completed the Automatron DLC would of course have to be a requirement for the option to be available. Edit: spleling erors
Probably BC 1 is a brain in a jar that gets nutrients from the gel it floats around in and the other is am disembodied head that needs a constant influx of stuff to stay alive
Yeah, it's kind of baffling why J.C. would even go along with a plan like that when Robobrains were already a thing, and apart from having a face, there doesn't seem to be any advantage whatsoever to this Leap X thing over the Robobrain Vault from Far Harbor.
I wish there was a middle choice, The Sole Survivor chooses to turn off the machine but is given a data gathering quest or a fetch quest for the machine's password to turn it off which gives time for Sierra to talk with Bradberton which ends the quest on good terms.
Woot! N'th Apple knocked another one outta' the park! As for Sierra P., I was happy to see her in this DLC. FO3 and FO4 happened close enough together on the timeline, with the regions reasonably near each other, that I felt her inclusion was only natural. Given that other FO3 NPC;s, such as RJ MacCready and Dr. Madison Li, had already drifted to, and settled in, the New England Commonwealth before the Sole Survivor escaped Vault 111, finding Sierra was not a shock.
I really feel for Sierra. Picture you're like, the top anthropologist of your field. No one on earth even knows as much about the given subject as you do. And suddenly, you find your holy grail. Beyond anything you could have imagined, beyond anything you would have dreamed was possible to find. Only instead of an inanimate object, that holy grail has a mind of its own and wants to be destroyed. That's a hell of a thing to reconcile. It's easy for us to look at the thing she's devoted her life to as silly, but who among us hasn't picked a thing we've devoted ourselves to and made whatever justifications that worked for us to warrant that devotion?
Think that the whole top chemist stick is more alluding to the Disney imagineers and there leading robot / animatronic development. The whole head frozen thing is the Walt Disney conspiracy, and the soft drink angle Bethesda went with is just cause Nuka Cola is almost the most iconic thing like the powersuits for fallout.
47:00 I think I know a way for the Quantum to enhance the armor. In Fallout 2, a faction called the Shi developed a chemical to harden power armour, enhancing its resistance. It is possible that the Beverageers, entirely separately, managed to create a similar compound, only with Quantum as a basis.
It wasn't the shi who hardened power armor it was the hobologist, also it wasn't the hubologists who developed the hardening process of power armor, it was probably developed in the pre-war but it wasn't really used a lot due to the fact that for some reason it makes the armor heavier as seeing in both fallout 1 and 2
Okay I have spent some time thinking about it and there's 2 options 1 is that people have changed since the bombs dropped and there aren't many real scavengers out in the wasteland which is why so many settlements are renewable that or the wood doors are actually some type of composite wood that's really hard to break
@@gmann215 Don't forget about the Think Tank, Robobrains, Calvert, and Desmond Lockheart. The amount of people who've cheated death by either scooping out their brain or becoming ghouls is pretty staggering
Specifically, though, that *she* couldn't handle it. But Sierra has such an idealized view of this dude that he's literally begging for death and she's oblivious. I'm sure she assumes that he can handle literally anything, and he's just being humble. Its moments like this that I kinda wish Fallout had a cartoon aesthetic, because this is just so silly
Bro got played hard it’s pretty sad tbh like house had robots to keep him company Eddie winter had something I guess to keep him sane for the past 200 years the fact bradberton didn’t go insane being alone a head in a jar in a cold dark bunker says a lot about the man
"how cheating death never turns out the way you want it to" Unless ur Mr. House and have a fully planned out plan on how to bring humanity to the stars and beyond
@@thenthappleThe Institute could have feasibly built him a new gen synth replacement body (although his brain would have to be transplanted in order for it to not be just a copy).
@@thenthapple I think Mr. House's weakness will always be his dependence on a human to act as his proxy meaning that he's vulnerable to someone overthrowing him, and his shortsighted belief that anybody can be kept loyal by being given enough money and a place as his right hand.
Great video man! It's always a good day when we get more Fallout content from you 😄 I remember when I first did this quest & came across Bradberton in all his glory. My first thought was, *"Holy sh*t! He did a Walt Disney!" 😂*
I am glad you are still making content, it's a treat to still hear Fallout lore from your perspective, even though this game is heading on 10 years old.
4:34 considering that such places would be smashed open by the looters, raiders and such in Nuka World, I am sure that the door would be heavily reinforced.
I will always be dissapointed that we couldn't turn Bradberton into a soda-powered cyborg who could take over the park. Okay that probably wouldn't really work out out in the game logistically (though come to think about it it would make the Trader Pathway more fleshed out) but it would've been so cool. Though considering the Automatron DLC robotics and especially the the potential Institute pathway, in context there should be an option to give Bradberton a new life.
@@thenthapple My guess is that he'd learned about the tendency of robobrains to develop psychopathic tendencies and figured that was too big a tradeoff, not actually equipping his personal vault all that well was probably just him rushing blindly ahead to get everything in place.
With his connections, could he have known about the Enclave? Maybe he was a part of it but decided to go with immortality instead or was simply unable to remain a part of it after his transformation
When you mentioned the coffee flavoured cola towards the end and how horrible it must have been, i couldnt help but laugh. Here in Australia Coca-Cola actually does sell a coffee flavoured variant. It's pretty mid but not as downright horrible as you'd think.
From what I can tell. Bradberton is like Thomas Eddison or Elon Mush. They are businessmen but not real scientists. They take credit and the money for the work of others.
From what I interpreted from 'best organic chemists' is that he literally head hunted the best and brightest in the field upon them getting their degrees. Certainly sounds like something he'd do.
I got annoyed with Fallout 4 when I preordered it, pulled an all-nighter on release to play it, and really got into it. But at one point the game broke on me, because I dared to skip ahead of the script and cleared out an area Preston hadn't told me to go to yet, so I couldn't complete his mission. Quest chain broken. They might've fixed it later, but by then I had become so disgusted I just didn't want to play anymore. But I also realized I really didn't need to. The combat wasn't really all that different, I really just wanted the story, the lore. And sometimes that could be so tedious to find myself. You have been a godsend, my friend. I started watching you way back before F4 even launched and loved every video I dug out of your archive, felt like a loss when you disappeared for a while. This right here is why I was so glad to see you back, I get the true lore of the franchise to enjoy, wrapped in a neat little package. Thank you, Sir.
Excellent as always. With the decision at the end, I usually end up doing the unethical thing, going Keeping Bradburton alive long enough to get the jumpsuit, then flipping the switch to get the good stuff. Feels bad man. But . . . Usually I'm doing Raider Stuff (TM) while I'm there, so it checks out, I think of it as gettin the swag and Tombing Up the witnesses. Not my ideal outcome, but I must collect.
That's what I liked most about Nuka World. It actually let's you roleplay as a bad guy which is something the base game doesn't do well enough imo. The other games allow you to be a complete monster if you want & reward you for it so why should Fallout 4 be any different?
There is (was?) Actually a coca cola drink that was mixed cola and coffee. Tasted a little weird but the French vanilla was actually good enough that I preference that to regular coke
48:20 Keep in mind the general told him there are some kinks to work out - that 15 pound limitation sounds exactly like that kind of king he mentioned earlier. Most likely that could be resolved in time - but for someone who was impatient and in a hurry - that was not an acceptable option.
I'm curious that he didn't ask Sierra or the player what year it is. Was he able to keep track of time? I didn't see any time displays and if there was one nearby I doubt he could've twisted his head to see it.
The reason I don't believe Braxton tricked Bradberton is because Braxton outright tells him there's issues with it and it's "not as simple as flipping a switch and living forever." But Bradberton in his infinite wisdom just says "shut up I know everything about the program let me in." At which point Braxton basically just shrugs and says suit yourself.
How selfish is that woman? SERIOUSLY. No, I don't care what heinous war crimes or whatever that he committed, at a certain point you're just torturing him for no other reason than you simply have a vendetta against the guy. It's not solving anything or teaching him any lessons he hasn't already thought up 10,000 times. This woman is so obsessed with a damn soft drink that she wants to condemn that guy to an eternity of loneliness and suffering, just so she can talk to her hero once in a while. Tbh the very second she so much as insinuated that I was in the wrong for shutting down the power... Laser, meet tacky blonde head. Nate is WAY too understanding when he defends his decisions to her that line "WHO ARE YOU TO.." blah blah, that was too much for me. Felt myself physically warm up from anger.
At 12:34 when you mention your video on the galactic zone. Would you be able to link the videos via the info popups? Also long form frankenstein videos are doing really well at the moment, so maybe linking the whole Nuka world series into one might get you extra views. Or other series based around a specific part of fallout linked into one mega video. Multiple hours long (5+). I think the traction has come from viewers putting it on in the background, also it means just combining existing videos (no new content) into the video.
Wait did the galactic zone video not appear as a suggested video when I started talking about it? Could have sworn I'd added it in. Maybe I will put it all in one. Not a bad idea.....
In my mind the procedure was only partially completed, the head in the machine part was only supposed to be a step towards the biosuit immortality, but they ran out of time
Ive always been shocked by the selfishness and narcissism from seirra, Bradburton has been a head for centuries now and shes gonna say that she wants him to stay alive even though he directly tells you he wants to die and she hears him.
It is only shocking if you were not paying attention to how she was acting throughout her quest. She acts kinda childish and not very put together. She doesn't even flinch when the Raiders threaten brutal death upon her, something she should be able to tell from her surrounding they really mean. So the question becomes is Sierra maybe there in the park because she finally lost her last marble and is just as crazy as Bradburton should be after hundreds of years of isolation? Lost in her own delusion and faced with the possibility of a captive audience...
Tbis is embarassing, because I'm a huge fan, but I always put videos on in the background while doing chores and taking care of my son... BUT I never listen to TheNthApple videos because I feel the need to listen to them intently instead of doing chores
The conversation options with Bradberton being limited to "Yes, No, More info, Childish sarcasm" is one of the reasons I dislike FO4. Imagine if you could have a whole conversation with the man, discussing your findings in the logs of Braxton, make him question whether the General planned for this or not. Giving him the option of an Automaton body. Talking about soft drinks, Quantum, the state of his park, the state of humanity. But, no. You get a "Yes" or "No."
I’m confused why his treasure quest isn’t understood to be his way of keeping himself entertained by a steady stream of sycophantic fan visitors, after the procedure? It would perfectly explain the slapdash way it was put together, as well as why such a busy man would make himself available.. once he realized what he was going to have to do, he put it together to have *something*.. but then the bombs fell.
Sadly this line conflicts with the main story of fallout 4 sorta; or highlights how bad it really is. The Institute could easily make him a new synth body and swap his brain over to it no problem. This could be done by either medical means or that brainscan thing, heck, thats what was happening with Kelogg it seemed. So there were solutions besides making him a robobrain which would've also worked as was the case in 2 other DLC in the same game. But we got this bit instead. Feels like NV would give you this choice since all this tech became a thing in 4.
Y'know, I'm willing to suspend my disbelief and accept the fact that, for some reason, the worlds best chemical engineers work at a soft drink factory. Maybe this version of the world just really prioritizes soda.
NGL I'd have probably asked if he'd be willing to let me leave them alone for a week and come back. After hundreds of years, giving a stress test to an alternative to oblivion for just one week, knowing that if he didn't like it I'd pull the plug, couldn't be that bad lol
I never liked the choice you have to make concerning Bradberton. since the automatron dlc exists why can't i just put his head on a robot body. it worked for jezebel. not being able to turn Bradberton into a robobrain like entity was a huge misstep in potential story interaction. if you completed Automatron and let the Mechanist live you could then wire Bradberton up to a new body. But if you didn't then the basic two options would the only ones available.
I personally believe Bradberton believes he was fooled. Our memories are easy enough to corrupt and we've all at some point convinced ourselves something happened differently than it actually did. With 2 centuries of reflecting his misery, to me, it makes sense he'd have himself convinced he was a victim and tricked into this situation...forgetting that he demanded to be included in the program.
I left Bradberton alive personally and used a secret technique passed down my family line known as tcl to get the Nuka Nukes as I think having a raving fangirl is the worst fate he could have gotten because I want the rich to suffer in a hell of their own creation.
They lied to him. Most likely General Braxton was behind the lies. It was his way of revenge on Bradberton for the way forced in to the deal. They made Bradberton believe one thing at same time it was always meant to be just his head. Really they could of offered him a Robobrain body, witch would a little better then what he ended up with.
He would’ve been totally insane by the time you get there, not having any other stimulus for 200 years( I should’ve waited til near the end of the video before I said that 😂)
I dont think him not understanding the limits of leap-x as him being not a genius but more about his ego. What i mean i that i believe he made his own conclusions about what leap-x could do and basically didnt believe anyone when they told him he was wrong untill he was a head in a jar...
To cheet death you have to lean to cheet life. Controling the dream and not alowing yourself to be its victom. Your own victom. As those we wrong are also part of our dreams. And in death controle all of the dream have. As we are all born inocent, we are all intertwined with the one truth of history. A history already writen if we are dead.
Interesting that the story changed now that Mr. Disney Cola there is the victim of a bad trade offer from the general now that he's facing consequences. As though we didn't find an actual voice recording of him being the one to throw weight around for the deal 😂
Yeah when you pull an Amber Heard you don't want to admit it. I would say he was promised to get a body of some sort when the advancements got there but the guy died before it happened.
In regards to evidence of him trying to make it harder to meet. Apart from there being only the one copy of the cappy answer sheet like you mentioned. Theres a terminal entry in the park that is a reminder to staff that offering hints as to the location of the hidden cappy is a fireable offense
Siera was a good friend in fallout 3. No way in hell would I ever choose the option to make her sad. Bradburton was a terrible person who deserved his fate as a suspended head
Nuka Cola is rich, there is a chance they have deals with the schools to receive graduates from the schools. Heck, we have things like that in our timeline.
I’m not sure if it’s the video or my garbage service living in a rural area but from 1:39 to 2:13 the video freezes for me while the audio is fine. Not sure if it’s the video or my service
Considering how we know Eddie Winter survived the bombs I’m surprised Bradburten didn’t look into that life extending technology, since a man of his position should easily have known about the ghoulification process that winter went through
But ghouls are icky! Seriously though, I think this supports the theory Bradburten may have actually been sick in some way. this, in addition to him rushing the immortality process. That, or he knew when the bombs would fall.
What I would have liked to do was leave him alive for a week and then see what he wants. It would give sierra time with him and give him what he wanted.
