I boight the CD and haven't played anything else since.Their not just pretty and talented but anyone who'll perform in a Walmart to promote their CD gets my admiration every time.
I love this song so much. You gals are amazing. I love that you're show casing and keeping alive the wonderful sounds that my great grandparents and grandparents loved. I buying your cd. I sure hope you come near where I live someday. Much love and sucess to you both
Just saw these ladies for the first time on OPB television. The "big" sister reminds me, vocally, of Mama Cass-Elliot. Mama Cass auditioned in The early 1960's for the lead in Funny Girl, which was given to Barbara Streisand instead. In reference to Cass's rivalry with Streisand, I heard it said many years ago that Cass had one thing in her voice that Streisand couldn't touch....LOVE! It's the same thing I hear in the voices of The Secret Sisters.
These girls are SUPER COOOL! They're smart to have revive 'retro music' in this hip hop/electronic music generation. They really stand out among all the artist all over the world. Though its an old song, it is new to our generations. New=unique=creativity=POTENTIALLY sustainable in the industry. I need more ofthis music in this hectic life of ours.
I have seen these girls live twice. Once supporting Ray Lamontage at the Royal Festival Hall, South Bank, London and at a small venue in Hoxton, London. They were absolutely awesome!!!
Im late to the secret sisters party, but my God can you beautiful ladies sing, and I love to hear these classic songs redone like this..Im a fan ladies.cant wait to see you at the Beacon.LOVE LOVE LOVE the harmonies. You were created to sing together by forces unknown.
Yes these ladies all rock. Its awesome that there is such fine ladies keeping some of the greatest sounds in music a live so the up coming generations will be in touch with the past in music to continue to make new music that some thing meaningful to tell and share with the word over.
I'm afraid I'm a Johnny come lately to these two fabulous ladies. They are absolutely brilliant, and I look forward to seeing you both on your UK tour in June.
Confesso que as descobri recentemente, mas foi amor a primeira vista! No Brasil temos alguns talentos assim, precisamos aprender a encontrar e valorizá-los. Fico feliz de ver mais brasileiros com gosto musical tão refinado, abraço.
I agree. I bought their album, on the back of a couple of performances on Jools Holland in the UK. It isn't breaking any boundaries (who is? ;O) ) However, it's beautifully performed and, for me, it's a pleasure to hear vocal work of this quality and they sound just as good when it's stripped back to a single acoustic guitar...something a number of todays artists wouldn't dare to do without all the gizmos and gadgets they have to make someone sound passable.
I feel very sorry for this Savanna person. So consumed by envy, the sense of entitlement, or just plain full of spite and bitterness I just cannot tell. I pray that she will find peace one day and apologize to the Secret Sisters for hijacking a thread to pursue an argument with a person over infringements perceived or otherwise. When I found these girls I looked into the origins of their songs and listened to the originals. Seeing the vehemence of the originator I can say this one is better.
Just a thought check out these ladies from the Sun Rockabilly days .... Miller Sisters-Theres No Right Way To Do Me Wrong. I am sure these were an influence on the Secret Sisters - Love Em!
OMG These girls are amazing!!! Does anyone know where I can get their version of "Tonight You Belong To Me"? It is WONDERFUL and I need it in my life! lol
@crystaaaahl Yes, and yes. She closed that account and re-opened a new account (you can find her comments by looking up other Nancy Baron videos on here). I think she was just upset that someone else was finding fame with their version of a song she had done nearly 50 years earlier. I don't blame her for being upset but I think she should've handled herself differently. It's a real shame I had to lose a friend over this song but that's the music business for you...I still like her music though.
Is @Savanna1ish Nancy Baron?? Because she didn't even write the original song - just sang it. Wasn't it Wally Zober who wrote the song? I prefer this version anyways
@Savanna1ish And another thing - you are NOT a "class" act to be acting this way on another artists wall. I Personally, I would've have recognized this as an "OLD" song, and probably went out to search for the original. But if potential listeners see you going on like this, they're not going to want to support you. I sure as heck don't now. Take it private next time, and maybe you'll gain the attention you think you deserve, rather than the attention you DO deserve acting bitter and angry.
I can't decide whether I like them or not, there sound isn't too bad, but not as good as contemporary artists of a similar genre, like She & Him. I think they look awkward while performing as well.
