The Secret Stash of Mopars Hidden for Decades: Secret Stash Part 1

I had the opportunity to document a incredible collection of rare Mopars (and two Fords), tucked away. Some of them were tucked away in an old showroom for an auto parts store. The others at a secret, ancient old barn, partially buried deep into a hillside. It was quite the collection of cars! My heart definitely skipped a beat seeing these cars.
You can read about it here.

With such an amazing Mopar collection I love how this guy just happens to also have one of the rarest Mustangs out there. I am just happy to see they are not all outside sitting and rotting away... What a Collection!!

svt0169cobra..... personally I would be most interested in the AMX; guy down the street in my old neighborhood circa 1972 had a full race specimen that was state bracket champ.....haven't seen too many around anymore

@dmfj1980 6 лет назад
Dan Lloret That is the most absolutely disgusting and ridiculous statement I've ever heard of or read in my entire life! You sir are an abomination to the history of vehicles as a whole and it's absurd anyone would EVER pick an AMX of any design of combination over any of those cars! It's true a few are rare to some degree but there is absolutely no comparison whatsoever in any language or any planet between ANY AMC and "I'll just pick the Boss" solely because of it being the other oddball in that collection! It's absurd to opt for, I couldn't even justify calling it an opinion, an AMX over the Boss. It's flat out a total disgrace to choose one over the Hemi Cuda in practically any condition or list of options! You have officially lost in the Internet and it life as a whole sir! I'm sure there's a lot of people you make proud every day! I'd like nothing more than for you to spend the remainder of your life behind a pair of handlebars just peddling away on only the rim because you are the truest case of someone completely undeserving of anything that has tires much less any type of engine! Today you suck at life as no one has ever sucked in the history of ANYTHING. So sad... Your DD is something I'm picturing as a total turd in the purest definition! Something resembling a Dodge Omni, Fiat X19 or perhaps even a 4cyl Gremlin and that's a dang shame to say the least. I'm ashamed of you as any sort of being that clearly only maintains the unfortunate ability to drink water and type... Thankfully I've had no other knowledge of your existence until now and that alone has created a desperate and completely overwhelming desire to forget the vomiting that erupted so violently from your, let's just call it "extremely unfortunate ability" to type a word, much less piece together a whole sentence! I'm truly overwhelmed with sadness of your ability to do so. Truly sad times are these indeed... You've successfully made me completely sick and disgusted of your apparent and extremely unfortunate ability to stand upright, use utensils or breathe oxygen without filtering water to acquire it. The mountainous violent explosion of bloody while burning mud butt diarrhea that erupted and spewed from what I'll call a mind maintaining only the absolute and simplest thought process is nothing short of an extremely unfortunate occurrence and abomination "did I mention that" to mammals in general. I'd rather hear Luke Kermit D Frog Bryan rap about being country while simultaneously wearing apparently his little sister's skinny jeans while getting smacked with that pink dildo in his Beavis and Butthead target whom some refer to as his face. Pow!! Right in the kisser. Ok, I'm ready to attempt the impossible feat of removing the knowledge that you are an oxygen breathing object who I pray doesn't possess an ability to vote for anything even pertaining to a circle jerk competition! I'm almost certain you're the kneeling and centrally located bukkake target everyone is shooting for! Also you're a great... hmm... umm... anyways whatever and I hope I didn't offend you. Hope every tomorrow is just as fantastically wonderful as right now and the duration of all the time waisted reading this nonsense is the very same method in which you use in enabling ye bukkake cup to fill to nothing short of the brim and it runneth over, all the while it's filled merely utilizing drippeth off ye face. It's perfectly fine that you do not sir because I love me more than you and your cups intense relationship👌💩🕳❔😂👏🙋👐

Whats funny is , I remember when I was a kid in the late 60's and early 70's . these kind of cars sat in yards , behind garages , and even sat in the street Not being used . they were junk ! . no one paid any attention to them . we used to play in Fingerette's junk yard with an entire lot filled with old Mopar's and Chevy's . this video brings back a lot of fond memories . Thank You for posting it . Ray in Pa.

I saw a green and white Charger Daytona for sale a few years ago. It was advertised as a 69 Charger Daytona with matching numbers and completely unmolested as it still had its original auto transmission (1 of 3 with auto trans) and it was for sale at $155,000. I'm wondering if the car featured in the video was the same car that I saw advertised as the advertised car also had redline tyres. I've seen another Charger Daytona in blue advertised for $450,000!

Oh yeah, my friend with the turquois Daytona also had one of the very first 6 pack Charger R/Ts. This one's sequential number started with 100! The last three digits of the sequential were 300 and something! It was built at St. Louis. This was one of the first 70 cars made at the St. Louis plant. It was a heavily loaded car too. NO doubt it was a pilot car. Unfortunately he bought it from a junk yard in 1978 and it no longer had its tags or broadcast sheet. The other numbers were there. It had been hit in the side, but was repairable. It just got totaled out in 1978 due to its age and value. The car was loaded-Vit. C paint with a C-stripe, black top and leather buckets with a six way adjuster. Then there were power windows, AM-8 track, rear defogger and to top it off the M51 power sunroof option!!!!!! Holy cow batman! Screw the Hemi GTX shown here, cool yes, but almost mundane in comparison. This orange 6 pack Charger was historically significant and ultra hip to boot!

As I closed up my garage sale one day in 1994, an old lady pulled up in a green 1970 Plymouth Fury III two door. She said a hubcap came off a few blocks away at the bridge. She offered me $20 if I found it and brought it to her. She gave me her phone number. As she talked to me I noticed the car was almost perfect. I almost started drooling looking at it,,, and I'm a big Ford fan. She replied it had just over 7,000 miles and only two shops in town had ever worked on it. I found the hubcap and got it to her. I don't know what engine it had. That was Rochester Minnesota and I remember she was quite old living in a retirement high rise. I moved from Rochester in 1995 and hope that car ended up with a responsible collector.

I wonder where that car is today because I'd be surprised if she is still alive. She told me she would walk out to her car from the grocery store and see two feet sticking out the side as some guy would inspecting the underside. She got lowball offers for it. I'd feel really blessed to own an old car that pristine.

A long time ago my dad and I picked up a rat rod 1968 Charger. His plan was to restore it to make it a driver, and MY plan was to steal it and call it my own haha! Sadly, as he bought it for $3000, he sold it for somewhere around $9000. I locked myself in my closet for about a week and didn't make eye contact with anyone hahaha. I wish I was as lucky as you to find these things, just gotta know where to look!

A lot of Chrysler dealers actually removed the Bird / Daytona noses beccause it was hard to see and buyers kept hitting things and mashing them . The giveaway is the back glass. It is more aerodynamically shaped than the Roadrunner/Charger.If you run across a weirdly shaped back glass , you might have hit a gold mine.
@AutoArchaeology

That is just a mis-conception. There is no documented case of one actually being done. Accidents, yes, but never a dealer done conversion.

Kinda funny how this has ended up. I grew up with these cars.Rode the strip every weekend.First car 69 SS chevelle,second Ram air IV GTO. Drove and rode many fast cars.Then EPA emissions and gas prices cut the hotrod throat. Couldn't hardly give em away early in early 80's. Now they price large bucks. Truth is they rode rough and wouldn"t handle in the twisties very well. Straight line cars prone to rust. I'm almost 60 and still have a fast car in the garage,an LT4 corvette.

They have ROUTE 66 Auto Museums around the country. They have a 🚛 on a pole for the semis, and a 🚗 on a pole for the cars. They are not all on ROUTE 66...🏁

Yeah, I wouldn't want the orange Super Bird that was "just a 4bbl. car" that he ditzed on at the end of the film. It wouldn't be good enough for me (not!). While I never owned one, I did go riding around in orange Super Bird at a car show 25 years ago. Kind of neat. A friend of mine has/had a big collection of B-body Mopes, plus a couple of metal buildings worth of parts. He owns a 1 of 3 Daytona that was an original turquoise (Sea Foam) car that came with a 4 speed and 4:10 rear. Pretty stupid ratio for a car meant to be driven at high speeds. That is where these winged cars really shine-above 80 mph when the nose and wing start working. The back end starts to plant itself and the car is stable. That enables them to walk away from other muscle cars at high speed as they aren't lifting and losing their aerodynamics and stability. Think about it, how long does it take a big block muscle car to hit 80? A few seconds. After that they are soon at their top speed. Yeah, a really awesome collection of Mopars for sure!

Initially I was completely against "clone" cars, but I really wish parts for the Daytona and Super bird were reproduced so our youth could see and enjoy them as Detroit once was. It wouldn't hurt the value of the real cars because of VIN and serial number breakdown, and you can insure and drive a clone on the streets. The majority of these cars never see the light of day. Shame.

There are various producers of parts like that. They do exist.

Of non original E bodies, I wonder which is worth more - original R code E body without original drive train, or original R code drive train in non original E body???
@AutoArchaeology
@AutoArchaeology 7 лет назад
The original R-Code body is always worth more. Clones are a far 2nd.
@cuda426hemi
@cuda426hemi 7 лет назад
Interesting. I would've thought that original R code bodies would be more common than non blown up original R code HEMI drive trains!
@AutoArchaeology
@AutoArchaeology 7 лет назад
No, the hemi is just an engine. The body is always a Hemi Cuda body or such. Unique
@cuda426hemi
@cuda426hemi 7 лет назад
So the "value" of clones - if I wanted to make a clone out of my 360-4V '74 'Cuda would mainly be in the E-Body's value and not the 'new' drive train (as opposed to the original 360 4v in it)? maybe? Or, do you just not hack the last year E body real 'Cuda no matter how wimpy it was compared to the same car 3 years earlier. I say wimpy but I would like to apologize to certain State Cops in the eastern seaboard for basically serving them shut-up juice with my fish back in the day. If I had a '71 Hemicuda like my best friend's bro had - I wouldn't be here now typing this baloney. Every one of these Dust Bunnies has many stories as well - think about that. G'd job, AA !
