I've been to 1,900 MLB games and NEVER seen a baseball like this before. It belongs to the Baltimore Orioles’ bullpen -- it's how they keep score in their daily pre-game competitions to see which pitcher can throw a ball that ends up closest to home plate. Shoutout to bullpen catcher Ben Carhart for letting me take a closer look at it and for being so friendly throughout the day not just to me but to other fans as well. MLB needs more people like him.
Despite the fact that the stadium opened just one hour before first pitch, I stumbled into a whole lot of action. Of course the main thing that I wanted to see -- rookie sensation Adley Rutschman hitting his first career home run -- wasn't meant to be. I think he'll end up being great someday, but unfortunately his early season struggles continued in this game against the Seattle Mariners.
