What happened last night is such a shame... ANY time a head injury results in the body making uncontrolled movements: such as the fencing pose seen last night, or a fighter getting knocked out and their arm(s) stick straight up, or the clenching and unclenching of fists (sometimes at odd angles), even your "regular" seizure... it freaks me out. Those images stay with me. And I agree with many pundits who say he shouldn't have been out there. It is a huge disappointment for, both, the young QB, who was juuust beginning to quiet his many doubters, and for this Miami squad. That team has gone through a lot, the last three plus seasons. The optic's on their front office has NOT been good, and now maybe, looks even worse. I hope Tua bounces back and remains healthy. I hope Coach McDaniel had little to do with the decision to play him (some of this is on his QB's shoulders; as well, as the QB coach, team trainers, medical staff, etc... a lot of eyes were on this), and irregardless of whether he did or not, I hope he learns from this and becomes an even better coach and person. I have been nothing but impressed with Mikey McD, in every facet: his press conferences, his interviews, his offensive philosophies, his work ethic... but, there is NO way that he isn't, at least, somewhat responsible for what happened out there to his captain, and by many accounts, friend. This is a test. For many individuals. And for the NFL. They need to use this as an opportunity to update, and keep improving on, concussion protocols and injury reporting. Such a shame... 😔

Definitely a great video and Miami did a fantastic job on defense but I think people are underselling just how banged up the o line was for Buffalo. By the second half their starting center right guard and right tackle were gone they were on their third center and second backup guard, they had no more backup oline men and were one more injury away from playing a db on the o line. But gotta give Miami props they smelt blood in the water and took advantage of it, can’t wait for a healthier round 2

Brett...watch the Bills backup center, Van Roten on the strip sack. He was the cause of it for two reasons. First, he telegraphed the snap count by snapping it directly after he moves his head signifying he was ready to snap the ball. The problem is, he never changed it up and it was the third time in a row he did it exactly the same. This led to the Dolphins getting off the ball extremely quickly. Secondly, he caught his own man by surprise with the quick snap. If you watch Dawkins is pointing out a Dolphin defender to Saffold and is looking inside when the ball gets snapped. Van Roten snapped the ball so quickly after his head turn signal that he never gave Dawkins a chance to get ready for it. By the time Dawkins turns and gets out of his stance, Holland is already by him. This breakdown absolutely does not happen with Mitch Morse in there. Morse being out singlehandedly cost us the game pretty much, as this play happened and then the under center snap issues that plagued us all game led to a bobbled spike attempt at the end of the half which prevented a FG try and they didn't even try to do an under center snap down at 2nd and goal from half half yard line which would normally have been an Allen sneak or Allen reaching the ball over for an easy TD like he did in his first start against the Vikings. Additionally...if allowing 400 yards passing is "stopping" Allen with a bunch of backup linemen in and receivers cramping up and having to come out every other play in the 4th quarter and he STILL was moving the ball at will, they need to come up to with a better plan. At one point when the Bills were going to a 3 WR package they had Quentin Morris(backup TE), Reggie Gilliam(FB/3rd TE) and Jame Cook(RB) playing WR at the same time for a series and Allen waa moving the ball at will even with them

Nice video Brett. With that being said Josh Allen had 400 yards passing and another 47 yards rushing. Bills left at least 20 pts on the table due to all the OL/WR injuries getting hurt before and during the game. ( Gabe Davis dropped TD, No TD from the 1 yard line at the end of the game, Missed 38 yard FG, no fg at the end of the half due to another botched snap) You mentioned some dropped int by the Dolphins but lets not forget the dropped pick 6 by Milano where he would have walked into the endzone. With that being said I fully expect the Bills to drop 40+ on the Dolphins come DEC. I'll be back for that recap for sure.

I don't want to make excuses on the injuries that's just how the game goes but I do feel they could have won this game even with all the injuries on this team. All they needed was a field goal to win the game, you made good points on them leaving points on the board. The one missed opportunity I can remember is the Gabe Davis TD you mentioned. l'll give credit to the Dolphins defense they gave Allen fits and stepped up. However, the Bills will get their revenge in round 2 I'm sure this game left a bad taste in their mouth. They'll play better & hopefully everyone is healthy for that cold Dec game in Buffalo. Appreciate the breakdown Brett. As a Bills' fan, I was curious what the tape would say. At first glance, it seemed like guys just didn't make plays- Gabe Davis looked like he had a TD secured as his second foot came down before getting knocked loose, and Josh threw the 4th down pass at McKenzie's feet (figured Josh was gassed after playing 90 snaps in that weather). I'm wondering if a competent run game would have helped, but Buffalo was without Morse who is a key cog in their OL... plus injuries had an impact where they were literally down to their last 5 remaining OL (one of which was playing on a torn ACL)

Sucks when you dominate another team in almost every facet of the game yet still lose…….usually that suggests outside influences that you can’t control like absurd weather or absurd injuries controlled the outcome of the game. NE beat the Bills last year because the game was controlled by weather, not the players and this was no different. Not to mention the easy 20 points Buffalo left on the table (Davis td, Milano pick 6, 2 fg’s that were never kicked). Miami was trash and lucked out….period.

Dropping 400 pass yards is considered "stopping/slowing down" Allen? Had it not been for a dropped TD (Gabe Davis), and underthrown TD (McKenzie), a bad snap at the end of half (back up center) made a FG impossible, a missed FG. The Bills left a ton of points on the field. All that said, the Dolphins had more points at the end of regulation, and won the game. But they didn't stop Allen in any capacity

It’s really scary to think a guy who had about 460 yards of total offense was “slowed down”. Every X and O you can possibly draw will not change the fact that this game was won and lost by completely outrageous circumstances and nothing more. You know as well as I do out of the 272 games that will be played this year, no team will possess the ball for less than 20 minutes and win the game. My guess, before watching the video, is that you can't. The Bills possessed the ball for over 40 minutes and racked up yardage at will against Miami, despite the temperature difference working in Miami's favor. A couple of fluke plays didn't go their way, but there's clearly what Miami did against the Bills is not recipe for continued defensive success.

In some cases it has exposed an interesting wrinkle for the Bills passing game. They didn't swing for the fences in big air yards and Allen has been more of a short passer for weeks. It could change though with the Ravens game with their mucked up secondary and their lackluster pressure from the trenches. But for now the Bills passing game is not the deep threat killers that they are known for.

Not sure I would consider 200 yards vs the Ravens and 23 points (which is fine) the same thing as aging poorly

The key to slowing down Josh Allen was 1.)100 degree heat. 2.) No shade on the Bills sideline. 3.) Having his starting Center hurt to start the game. 4.) Losing his starting right guard and right tackle by half time to injury. 5.) Also wide receivers having to constantly leave the game to get IVs in the locker room due to cramping from dehydration in the second half. Oh and by the way he still threw for over 450 yards. Do me a favor and redo this video on December 19th. The weather might be bad on December 18th, but at least both teams will be fully exposed to it.

Great video. Josh Allen looked a bit like the 2018 Josh Allen in that game. Was it down to the heat, the play calling, the back-up O-Line? Who knows. But if he weren`t great we would probably see this version more often. I am pretty sure other teams can dial up tricky Cover 2 formations on D? However Allen was not too bad in the rest of the games so far.

Finally? He's only been good 2 years. Worst QB in the league his first 2, and a rather disappointing 2021... but I still wanna know how to stop him now. After he's been so good this season and cuz of his good 2020 season.

Biggest issue the Bills had was being down to their #3 Center and backup RG and RT right around the time the Dolphins defense started to get pressure without 0 blitz. They couldnt even go under center because the Center to QB exchange was too risky. They had to have one of their OL play snaps with a torn ACL ffs.

Breakdown is alright, but offense was on the field 40mins, they had full drives the whole game resulted in miss kick, and falling apart in the redzone. Credit the dolphins or blame the circumstances regardless Allen was still making solid reads and good plays most the game 🤷‍♂️

Around 8 min mark: "Bills outright refuse to run the ball." You can say that about a lot of the modern offenses, with 'modern' OC's.

why didn't the DB communicate with the backside rusher to peel out with Knox so they are 1v1 (might not be the best matchup, but it's worth getting the +1 back imo) and the DB just come off the edge and replace the rusher's duties?

Tampa ran cover 2 shell with a man on Kelce and it worked great but not every has a d line like they had or linebackers who can run like they did. Cover 2 disguises with javon holland running laps is working great as a pats fan javon is amazing. Cover 2 being the primary coverage to stop 2 of the highest powered offenses in the league is funny to me, but what the chiefs have been doing this year is crazy. U almost need man corners with eyes in the back of their heads to dodge rub routes and picks

Can someone explain why the two deep routes on both the Andrews post and the Diggs post are basically mirroring each other? Wouldn't it be better for the outside receiver to run some sort of in or dig to give the slot receiver more space? For example if Andrews was the only deep receiver on his post Lamar has like 10 yards to play with to throw Andrews open. But the other go route makes that throw harder. Great video Brett.

So after seeing Ken Dorsey’s reaction, it’s fair to say Josh Boyer won?
@matterman2003
@matterman2003 2 года назад
Not really...a myriad of unforced errors by the Bills that usually don't happen left about 24-30 points out there and the 4th quarter was a debacle with 4 backup OLinemen in there, 2 of them playing positions they never even played before in a game, and multiple receivers cramping up and having to go out every other play and then coming back in not very effective. The weather won a lot more than Boyer. On a cooler day, the Bills win going away.

@@matterman2003 If you lose due to pretty normal weather than your coaches suck, conditioning is their first job. Miami was dealing with the same thing I doubt you’ll say this if it was cold in Buffalo like it always gets when they play late in the year. The bills are the best team in the league rn but don’t give excuses to them just getting beat. They had the ball for 40 minutes and only scored 17 points offensively.
@matterman2003
@matterman2003 2 года назад
Conditioning has nothing to do with it in that weather. Borderline unsafe playing conditions with an on field temp of 112 and high humidity. Especially when they were down so many players due to injury and it just kept happening during the game.
@dkoda840
@dkoda840 2 года назад
@@matterman2003 Yet the bills players went down more than the dolphins, It has a bit to do with conditioning. Idk maybe I’m just pissed at bills fans discrediting Miami’s win due to heat and injuries something both teams went into the game with.
@matterman2003
@matterman2003 2 года назад
@@dkoda840 Let's see. One they are down there every day training in it. Two, their sideline has full shade conveniently thru stadium design(brilliant but bullshit) while the other team has full sun. Three they are wearing white uniforms where the Bills had dark blue on. There is no way to simulate those conditions in a 24 hour span. And it was unusually hot because the Bills have several players who grew up down there and played there and went to Miami U in Greg Rousseau and Ja'Quan Johnson and even they said it was one of the hottest games they ever played in

Bret couldn't a simple adjustment be on Miami's part, when someone is an motion the DB will pass it off to the DB on the other side that's blitzing and then the motion didn't help for the DB who was blitzing is on the line watching what the Motioner will do if he stays to block he blitz's if he goes on a route he follows him and the other DB that was covering comes off hot (or is that what the Dolphins did)
