Your teaching is extremely great I'm watching and trying when on the range

Really liked this info and how it was presented. Can't wait to try it. I've lost a lot of distance over the last 30 years and I'm guessing this is part of why I have, considering how high my ball travels. Thanks, I'm now subscribed.

Excellent points Ali. I have always been an inside swinger with a right-to-left curve as a right-handed player. This has created a few problems including a few blocked shots and an occasional shank especially with short irons. I will try your approach and see if I can work it in.

As long as you have lag, the club head will have to catch up, which is why you can swing left but have the path of the club head towards the right. Also, the later you release the club, the more of a differential you will have, and will therefore hit a push draw (assuming the club face is appropriate). All of these numbers will still be relatively close to each other, but exagerrated for explanation

Seems a good idea, not sure if it’s easy to do for average golfers. Can I understand this in simple terms as an “in to in” swing or is it something to do with just closing the club face at impact which seems even harder? Thanks

Just think of hitting a fade: try and hit the 'outside' of the ball (the bit furthest from you!) Turn your left hip hard out of the way to allow the club to swing left. If you pull it, make sure your right wrist is extended all the way on downswing, not flicking.

Something i always notice on Ali's videos (and the guys smashing it at the range) is the solid thunk on the mat after contact with the ball. I never get this (or at least not after the contact, plenty of times before the ball!). I dont take divots on the course either. I know i need to hit down but its like my subconscious brain insists that the only way to get the ball in the air is to flip the wrists and try and scoop it. So annoying.

Don't think of hitting down, you'll get too steep and hit it fat. Think of hitting the back of the ball (*not* the 'bottom 'of the ball) flush with the full face of your club and think of the club going flat along the ground for as long as possible. Then you will hit ball, then turf/mat. You may hit a few thin but then right side bend more.

@@Ken-jf1cmnice explanation....hit the back of the ball at the lowest point first, without hitting the mat....then the club can graze the mat after. I do have to say that practicing off of mats is terrible as you can get away with slight chunk shots. Hitting off of grass is always preferred, but not always available.

Makes me smile every time. Modern tour players chasing the 00 path or slight out to in. This requires tour level practice. However , you don't get the day in day out consistency of a stock shot that does not attempt this dream. Been there done that .. Jack Nicklaus, Hogan, Trevino (fades), early Tiger and Rory (draws) .. they knew ... their muscle memory learned one side 'stock' shot - trust in majors .. sorry - no muscle memory for 00 neutral path. Side note: Nicklaus won 18 majors hitting a fade 90% of the time - and eliminating the left side of the course. 18 majors. Ask Jack if he would have won 36 by mastering draws or neutral straight. He would say subtract 10-12. The golf swing can be complex .. the masters kept it simple . Hogan - 1 plane. Nicklaus Trevino - 1:side of the course. Young Rory could have 10 majors by now if he kept it simple. That high draw stock shot that he won a US open by 10 shots was the formula he disregarded. 00 will keep the amateur in lesson hell forever. 0 muscle memory. Play the curve.

the problem with 90% of amateur Golfers is they are not playing Golf, they are just hitting the ball

If the average golfer tries to swing from the outside in, they will slice.
