Thank you. 25 years with a narcissist, I’ve been in fight or flight, stress, fear, hunched forward to make myself small. Now with prolapsed organs I’m starting to relax. He left 18 months ago, and I filed for divorce. Working on my healing.

Four years till present I have been suffering with job related stress that has had a toll on my health. Muscle tension, heart burn ( small hiatal hernia), constipation with hemorrhoids, grinding teeth not to mention mental stress (very unhappy). Its It's unfortunate that the information Dr. Bri is sharing is still a bit taboo to talk about in most circles. I can relate to so much of what she has shared in this video. I was visiting with my doctor and dentist(to repair damaged teeth) frequently for two years trying to figure out what I was sick from. I believe my hiatal hernia was caused by my muscle tension pushing my stomach partly up into my diaphragm, where it doesn't belong. After a break in covid, in Nov 2021, I had my long awaited Hemorrhoidectomy. I purchased a bidet washer toilet seat to help with the recovery. I has helped with some difficult bowel movements, but I is not the cure. I believe if I had this knowledge four or more years ago all this bad heath could have been mitigated or avoided. Best wishes for your health and stay well.

I used to clench my tummy to look skinny. Then I got a hysterectomy in 2020 and I have clenched my pelvic floor ever since. It was hypertonic at one point. It’s a bit better but I still clench. I’m trying to retrain myself to not do it. Your videos have been so helpful. It’s amazing. I was just wondering how I should stand the other day. I have done such bad thing to my body over the years. Plus now my muscles are all traumatized because of the hysterectomy and spinal and hip osteoarthritis. I’ve been to several PT’s and I’ve learned more from you in about a week than I ever did from them. Thank you so very much.

Dr. Bri, this is the best advice I’ve heard in over a decade related to pelvic floor issues. My interstitial cystitis was diagnosed more than 10 years ago but I’m just learning these types of tips. I’ve recently begun seeing a DPT and she has told me about the same things you cover in this video: proper breathing, clenching and how the muscles in the pelvic floor are interconnected with other organs. It’s amazing what I’ve learned and put into practice. If I can continue to get comfortable (unclench, relax!)with PF therapy, I believe my physical and mental health will improve. Could you address use/benefits of pelvic Dilators in a future video? Thank you! You are much appreciated.

This is why it's so important to treat the physiological issues that lead to physical tension. I suffered from pelvic dysfunction for years while constantly being misdiagnosed by numerous doctors. I was told my symptoms were because i was pre-diabetic then it was my prostate like many men are told then my colon because of all the GI issues i was having. Spent months on antibiotics that did absolutely nothing while my pain continued to get worse literally destroying my life. Eventually i stopped all medications and even all drs and sought out a pelvic floor physical therapist. Best decision I've ever made. 6 weeks in and after reading the book A Headache in the Pelvis by Dr David Wise and applying some of the cognitive behavior changes he describes in his program my condition is greatly improving. This is a very long process that requires work and dedication with lifelong lifestyle changes. The only medication im on now is a muscle relaxer to help with some of the spasms i get in my abdomen and glutes. I found these two muscle groups to be the most stubborn 😣. On the days i can get my abdominal muscles to relax i find my bladder and bowl function is so much better. Thank you for all your videos Dr .

I'm glad to hear that you've found relief and improvement through pelvic floor physical therapy and the approach described in Dr. David Wise's book, "A Headache in the Pelvis." It's unfortunate that you had to go through years of misdiagnosis and challenges before finding a path to healing. Indeed, treating the underlying physiological issues that contribute to physical tension and dysfunction is essential for long-term recovery. Pelvic floor dysfunction can be a complex and often misunderstood condition, leading to various symptoms and impacting different aspects of a person's life. It's important to have healthcare providers who are knowledgeable about this area and can provide accurate diagnoses and appropriate treatments. Your dedication to making lifestyle changes, incorporating cognitive-behavioral techniques, and working with a pelvic floor physical therapist is commendable. It's a testament to your resilience and determination in seeking relief and improving your quality of life. It's important to continue working closely with your healthcare providers, including your pelvic floor physical therapist, to monitor your progress, address any ongoing challenges, and fine-tune your treatment plan. Remember that healing is a process, and there may be ups and downs along the way. Having a supportive healthcare team and a commitment to self-care will be valuable in your journey. Thank you for sharing your experience, and I'm glad that the videos have been helpful to you.

I can so relate to this. My prolapse materialised 6 years ago after I broke my back in a car accident and had to have rods inserted to support my spine. These have flattened my lower back taking away the natural curve and throwing out the alignment so that I am permanently tucked under. I can and do work on this but it would of course be so much better to have that natural curve. At least, I have the knowledge now. This and better breathing practises have really helped in my prolapse journey. Thank you, as ever, Dr Bri, for all your invaluable input 🙏😊

I just wanted to comment and say thank you so much ;-; ive been in horrible pain in my lower back, hips, glutes, abs, jaw, neck everything because I physically couldnt.. relax. No matter what I tried, Im trying to soften my belly and open up; but i have such tight just.. muscles from injuries that I basically have to spend half my day hunched over like the hunchback of notre dom, or laying in bed from pain. I started thinking recently as dumb as it sounds "i wonder if im.. holding my stomach in?" Because growing up and into my young adults I was insanely obese (420-445lbs roughly at 6'2) and of course bullied and ridiculed, no love life blah blah; eventually I lost most of it, if not nearly all i needed, currently sitting at 225lbs with my excess skin, so as a result I was very self concious about it without realizing it honestly. It wasnt until I began forcing myself to workout as much as I can on top of my new weird diet and eating habits, and thus becoming far more "shredded" than before; and much more comfortable and happy in my loose skin. That didnt stop the involuntary clenching slightly, or vacuuming, the constant boxing stance (Ironic you used Boxing for me, Ive practiced it in private for a long while now, so I do unconsciously also stand like you said. After watching this video and doing your exercises i actually have some relief on my pain and pelvic issues

Thanks so much for these videos. I’ve been dealing with this for four years. Main symptom is frequency and bizarre sensations which feels like the in the bladder and genitals that are torture. Pain on and off but the main issue is the frequency to the point where I can’t function. Some days it’s constant even though I’m empty. I’ve had no help or explanation from professionals in the uk with the frequency. For the first time I’m finding some explanations. All Medical tests are negative. I cannot believe how urinary frequency has driven me to despair. This started after a terrible withdrawal from anti depressants which I was given for RSI which eventually disappeared. So I’m guessing it pelvic floor tension from the stress of the medication withdrawal and life.

You can access the first week for free. bit.ly/overcomewomenfree Regarding Pilates, there are basics for keeping any exercise prolapse-safe: A - maintain proper alignment (don’t round/hunch) B - breathe steadily, exhale with exertion Z - “zip, but don’t grip!” (zip up your entire core, from the pelvic floor on up, when you need that extra support and control… but do NOT overly clench or grip your muscles!)

(Via c section) after watching this video where you said it can cause your pelvis to lean forward I wonder if I hadn’t been a butt squeezer if I could have had my daughter vaginally or if that affected it? Butt squeezing/clenching is incredibly common! It can impact all sorts of pelvic health issues; however, please don't blame yourself for what you didn't know before. Awareness is the first step. Now you can unclench and relax!

That was excellent for me the best part was putting your hands on your sacrum and imagining that opening because let's face fax when you've pelvic floor problems and bladder floor problems it's not just the front door it's the back door meaning defecating is a problem as well as urinating it's a nightmare. I'm a victim of a violent crime at a doctors office and it didn't stop there and it's over nine years that I don't have justice but more injustices more dishonesty more wrongdoing. I've aged 100 years I have incredible job pain and grinding clenching at night which now could lead me into root canals and the clenching of the jaw seems to be tied to clenching throughout my entire body including my pelvic floor from the trauma. I also have a ton of five way tumors and because of the trauma insomnia from the attack and ongoing wrongdoing no justice I have more tumors that have grown I have four pedunculated tumors and one is pressing on my bladder for a small area like that it's like feeling pregnant with triplets for years now . Anyway this helps thanks and gratitude for your generosity

YES! Exactly! The posterior pelvic tension can be INTENSE. Breathing into the back-body and even focusing on breathing into the sacrum can be really helpful. Best wishes to you, you've been through a LOT. This jaw-pelvic tension meditation might be helpful for you as well: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-f1HZtVWj0bg.html

Hi, I’ve recently diagnosed pelvic floor pain and prostatitis. Changing my standing and sitting posture has helped relieve pain massively because I can draw my breath from lower in my belly rather than chest breathe and this reduces tension. However, I noticed when I sleep, my posture is bad and I go back to chest breathing from habit so the tension and gripping rises and pain returns early in the morning. Do you know what the best sleeping position is for pelvic health?
@vibrantpelvichealth
@vibrantpelvichealth 4 месяца назад
For pelvic floor health during sleep, lying on your side with a pillow between your knees can often be a comfortable position. This alignment can help maintain a more neutral pelvic position. Additionally, placing a pillow or support between your legs can aid in spinal alignment. Remember to listen to your body and adjust as needed. If you find certain positions uncomfortable or if you have specific recommendations from a healthcare professional, follow their advice. It might also be helpful to engage in relaxation techniques before sleep to minimize tension. If the issue persists, consulting with your healthcare provider or a pelvic health specialist for personalized guidance is advisable. ~Vibrant Support

My question is: is it good for any prolapse problem to swim or or do aerobics in the water being that has quimicals in it. An if it is good, how many times a week or hours every time, and how about using a public jacuzzi ? Thank you Dr. BRI.

When walking and standing, should our belly muscles be relaxed? I am also unsure if I'm using my muscles or tensing up. I feel like my stomach is just falling out..... like I look 27 weeks pregnant with a food baby. Should my stomach tense up when moving around?
@vibrantpelvichealth
@vibrantpelvichealth 2 года назад
Yes, when you're walking and standing your belly and butt should be fairly relaxed. You do NOT want to be squeezing or clenching your pelvic floor or belly muscles all day long! However, it's important to know how to "zip up" your core muscles when you need a little extra control, such as when you're lifting, pushing, pulling, etc. Here's a short video that explains more: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-h5VzNHSY4DM.html

I'm new to your channel and find the infomation very interesting. My question is, how is not clenching your butt in this video different from the exercise you have in another video when lying down with knees bent and squeezing knees on a yoga block. Thanks!
@vibrantpelvichealth
@vibrantpelvichealth 7 месяцев назад
In Dr. Bri's teachings, the emphasis on not clenching the butt is related to avoiding unnecessary tension in the pelvic floor muscles. The exercise where you lie down with knees bent and squeeze a block between your knees is designed to engage the inner thighs and activate certain pelvic floor muscles without clenching the buttocks. ~ Vibrant Support

I don't want to unclench my belly. When I relax it, I look fat and 6 months pregnant. I have an athletic body type and I'm muscular, but if I don't suck in my gut, I look pregnant. I don't have much fat on my stomach/abs either. I don't want to look fat/pregnant because I am not.

It's completely normal to have preferences about your posture and appearance. However, constant abdominal clenching might contribute to tension and discomfort. Consider finding a balance between maintaining good posture and allowing your abdominal muscles to relax naturally. If concerns persist, consulting with a fitness or healthcare professional could provide personalized guidance tailored to your body type and goals. ~Vibrant Support

I was told I have a tight pelvic floor. I suffered a lower back injury a couple of months ago and have been doing so much core work. I wonder if this led to it. To add to the picture, I had a hysterectomy (abdominal) a month or so before the back injury. So much happening and playing off each other!

I am sending you a big hug. Tight pelvic floors are much more common than we think. Being stressed and dealing with surgery/ injury can also add to the tension. Calming movement routines and stretches can help take some of the pressure away. If possible, I encourage you to book a visit with a local pelvic floor PT. In the meantime, you can check my pelvic tension/ pain guide. bit.ly/femalepainguide
