Yes, smoke fluids are costly and as it's under inflammable section, international shipping of such products are banned and so it's too costly here. That's why long time I was searching for a substitute.

Always use food grade mineral oil.... It's best 👍

Why is the funnel extended? Fast passenger locomotives like that have relatively short funnels. Either way I like what you did to the Scotsman model! But the funnel accessory seems a little unnecessary

Also, a shorter funnel will improve the smoke since it doesn’t have to travel as far through the funnel

@@thetoontrain6073 Actually when I installed that smoke unit..... On that time small units were not available in India. So I forced to pick that.

@@HOTRAINUNIVERSEANDDIORAMAS so the extended part is connected to the unit? I would say to cut it off but I haven’t experimented with smoke units yet. Great locomotive though!

@@thetoontrain6073 cutting off the excess can destroy the whole unit. Very soon I'll install the smaller Seuthe smoke unit.

Please do not use baby oil, it is much thicker and has more grease than mineral oil. You will clog your smoke unit over time with it. And a steam Loco smells like a baby....😊 ... no thanks.

Thanks for your opinion 👍 But thin baby oil leaves same residue as food grade mineral oil. And about the smell...... I already spoke on the episode that it depends on your personal choice.
