I think by making their trade more inclusive, it cheapens their art and will cause them to lose their mystique. Geisha are like a Stradivirius violin - beautiful and rare.
@xShadowxPhoenix yes...I share the same thinking.In Edo period,they flourished because they were not so restricted.Oiran and tayuu desappeared beacuse of their price and art/access restriction (not because of the criminalization of prostitution;they could exist nowadays without sexual services),only the very richs could enjoy/understand/apreciate their arts.I guess geikos are going in the same path if nothing be done.
@xShadowxPhoenix They have a right to be exclusive. I am interested in things about the Geisha but don't get too far into it ...I don't know I think the "mystery" should stay one and I respect that they have their own world.
