28:30 i get why ppl would wanna ignore past trauma, etc but when it affects how they act and the decisions they make through adulthood when they have children of their own, that unresolved trauma or issues affects their children
she can resolve her trauma without talking about it to others. it affects ginny because it’s unresolved trauma, not because she has the right to no georgias trauma.
I don't understand the Hunter hate. He's a sweet kid who respects Ginny, but in high school I guess they don't want the nice guy who respects them they want the bad boy 😎🤷
@@MsMojo014 Exactly I was very similar to Hunter in high school That's probably why I come to his defense. I felt like he and Padma would have made a better couple. Ginny just wasn't into him the same way he was into her, she should have communicated that better but then again if she did we wouldn't have an interesting story
@@marklouis1890he’s just too cringey. He has the personality of a horse girl. He’s an awkward boyfriend. It’s just hard to take him seriously. That 2013 tumblr boy haircut ain’t helping him either.
Anthony: "Then we could get married, and we wouldn't get lonely in our old age." Rob: "Brother, I think you might already be old." Me: *chokes on my sandwich* 🤣🤣🤣
I don’t think I was expecting the abuse storyline with the dad from Georgia in this show that’s really sad and traumatic she needs to talk about it I think therapy honestly ideal for everyone in the family at this point
28:46 Bryce, i get why you feel that way. It would be more of a bombshell moment if we didn't know Ginny talks to Zion. But when the show is about a biracial girl and her single white mom, it wouldn't be great to treat her black dad being present as a surprise reveal, especially because most people would probably assume off-bat that he wasn't. I appreciate the show telling us early that he's at least somewhat involved. It's a lot better than the alternative where it's some huge plot point, which would honestly be kinda racist.
Georgia does need to bring her past up to someone... A therapist. She hasn't dealt with her trauma and even if she doesn't mean it to, it affects her children. Georgia and her kids need to go to therapy individually and also as a family. Her kids are likely to have similar problems as adults if all they do is sweep their trauma under a rug. 28:40
Georgia is a great mother in a lot of aspects, but she's also incredibly flawed in a lot of other ways. I feel like I've seen so many people dismiss Georgia of any of her faults in favor of villainizing Ginny for hers. Not saying that you two do, but I've definitely seen a good number of comments that do
Ginny is a teenager I get that but like omg is she not aware of anyone but herself😭? Like it's so annoying... it's not always about you Ginny ppl have lives.
to be fair, sure her mom has a life but I don't think we can blame her for being upset at being lied to ... imagine how you would feel learning not only did your mom lie about having a sibling but she also lied about her parents being dead and also her own name. You would feel like you didn't know your mother. Also, Ginny has had to move 12 different times, we cut Georgia a lot of slack but if we had to witness them moving 12 DIFFERENT times, going to 12 DIFFERENT SCHOOLS and trying to fit in and make friends 12 DIFFERENT TIMES we'd be tired of Georgia's sh*t too. I don't think it's unreasonable for Georgia to want her mom to be honest with her because I can see why she feels like she's living with a stranger because it makes you wonder what your mother is capable of and more importantly, what is she hiding?
@@annieareyouok5158 no i get that trust me, I've moved like 18 times in my life across multiple states. And I've definitely found out stuff about my parents where it feels like you've been lied to the whole time. But I also agree with Georgia. Some things you're parents don't want you to know, and I feel like that's understandable. Like everyone has secrets and I find it a bit hypocritical that Ginny is always saying her mom this her mom that but she turns around and does similar dodgy actions. And once again not blaming her for being upset but the lack of compassion is just... it's silly to me. Like if she even just thought for a bit why her mom would lie about smth like that it would've been just a bit better. Not to mention Ginny just handles everything so immaturely, can't be too hard on her she's 16, but still it gets frustrating to watch. Georgia clearly sacrificed and went through a lot for the family. But Georgia also needs therapy because her repressed trauma definitely fucks with her kid's lives.
@@khalisahealey537 the difference is ginny is a child... Georgia is an adult .. a parent at that and because of her actions her kids don't have a stable life so of course ginny is also messed up and Austin is stabbing people with pencils. I think Ginny tries to have compassion for her mom but she's just fed up and she's also a teen filled with angst. I think if Ginny just had normal parents or had just stayed with her grandparents she'd be fine because honestly I don't think she's asking too much. Just for a stable home not filled with lies and mysterious cousins popping up out of the blue and unannounced. At a certain point you just get sick and tired so I'm not gonna blame a child too hard for being sick and tired of her parents' CONSTANT lies.
well ginny doesn't see georgia's history like we as viewers do lol... and considering georgia running from her past actions / crimes and completely lying to her children it's affecting them / their mental health so from their perspective they just see her flaws with no explanation and she's not trying to heal from her past trauma so that results in that trauma being passed down to her children in some ways
love you guys, but georgia's refusal to talk about the past is damaging to herself, and her children. if you don't have a parent that buries everything 'for your sake,' it's probably hard to understand how traumatic that can be for children raised in that sort of environment, but it's seriously rough. addressing, talking about, and healing from trauma is the only way to actually go about it, if you don't want to hurt yourself and others around you. ginny and georgia is a great show when it comes to the relationship between moms and their eldest daughters for that reason, honestly! it's super common for daughters (like ginny) to try to protect their younger siblings from their moms' (unintentional) psychological abuse.
Ginny can be a little bit self centred and selfish. Obviously cause she’s a teenager, but she preaches consideration and empathy and gives none of that to Georgia.
And Georgia doesn’t really give it to ginny either? You literally see that as the show goes on. You can talk about how georgia risked her entire life for ginny but that doesn’t make some of her choices very selfish. The way you guys treat ginny is weird
@@Isabellediaz112 I was more responding to comments made in the reaction! It’s my opinion, and you have yours which I respectfully disagree with. At the end of the day it’s just a show, and I’m here to enjoy the reaction. Peace ✌️
@@Isabellediaz112 And talking the way you do, with such a casually insulting and sarcastic attitude towards other people online, including this "you guys" thing you got going on (which is a fabrication you can grow and change to make *the other* as ridiculous as you need), is very selfish.
This show actually annoys me badly because georgia is just not a good mom and the fact that i see so many are hating on ginny while ignoring Georgia's issues just because shes pretty and fun is just wild to me.
I completely agree. Georgia is a great mother in a lot of aspects, but she's also incredibly flawed in a lot of other ways. I feel like I've seen so many people dismiss Georgia of any of her faults in favor of villainizing Ginny for hers
it pains me to watch ginny and georgia sometimes bc ginny is just so bratty and selfish sometimes 😭 i know she’s a teenager but like so am, at least the actors know they’re doin a good job making her unlikable
They are taking a break because Zuff unfortunately has cancer and he's been going through chemo. I heard he finished tho and they are expecting that he'll be back this month ❤
27:32 Fully deserved. In S2 Ginny’s grandparents had to check her, she’s way too comfortable speaking to her mother like she’s one of her friends. Georgia shouldn’t have to explain her trauma to anyone
but that’s how georgia raised her? she literally acts like her children are her friends and doesn’t have any boundaries with them! also georgia’s trauma doesn’t just affect her it also affects her children…
This is my comment number two… Couldn't help it.😀 This series has multiple versions of cringe. Cringe hair, cringe friend encounters, cringe relationship encounters , cringe sexual encounters. I like it but it gets kind of odd at times… Borderline annoying… But it keeps my interest because I can't imagine where it's going to wind up. I like the twins; both characters are diverse and interesting.
I'm a geezer, but I have vastly eclectic musical taste… I like this unique story line...BUT...Is it just me, or does the music just about mostly suck in this series?? Maybe I'm comparing it too much to TVD which had an awesome soundtrack.
It's not just you. I think the music on G&G seems kinda soulless somehow, especially compared to TVD. I've seen all the released episodes for this show, and I remember only liking a couple of songs.
