Finally a tutorial that actually shows what Frank Ocean ( + his producers) usually makes, instead of those Nikes-tutorials in fl studio by trap producers. Thank you!🙏
i got plenty of expensive software and hardware and im still not making shit nearly as good as franks worst songs. madlib made albums on an ipad, peggy made albums on a decades old sampler. price of equipment is probably the least important factor to his songs quality.
Great vid man love your work! One thing I haven't seen in this style of vid is a deeper explanation behind the chord progressions and melody writing - would be great to have a deeper insight in your chord choices too :)
Would anyone recommend any good third party sound banks people make in the style of artists like frank ocean, mk.gee, james blake, sampha for example? Or a good VST to get? I have Arturia bundle which has a lot of stuff I think works for their sound but I'd love to buy a bank of 100+ sounds (keys, bass, pads etc) specifically in that style so I'm not searching through thousands.
Down sampling is technically remove all the frequenices after 4000khz ,kinda like a low pass filter A run is like a fast sequence of notes , which i got from the splice app
