Paul Rossi began his career at Grace Church High School with new experiences in community bonding, hyper-friendly coworkers, and anti-racism mandates. Grace Church High School, located directly in Manhattan, is part of a larger trend of teaching "anti-racism" and other absurd dictates.
Paul Rossi took a stand to say that he will not take part in the racist ideologies that are being forced into the minds of the students at Grace Church and in western society as a whole.

"God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference." It's a hard lesson to really learn, but it's perhaps the most important. For sure it's one of the most empowering.

I am a Mexican-American male in my 30’s living in West Los Ángeles. I don't fall into the whole white-bashing thing. But it's crazy how popular it has become everywhere! Like overnight! There is so much tension between cultures here. And most people on the west side are not local to LA anyway. Most people visiting here never have a real idea of true Angelenos. I don’t white bash but there is for sure racism here. Especially outside the city limits. When driving in those areas you are not welcome and please don’t play anything that doesn’t sound like country. Sad I wish we all would get along!!! I pray that one day we could look past our history and move forward with love and understanding.

This is a distressing and familiar conversation. I admire your courage and honesty. I am baffled that Grace Church School (an "Episcopal" school) has obviously cast off any vestiges of its original Christian identity. To me, that is the elephant in the room that was not mentioned in this conversation.

What's usually missing from any mentions by Peterson are the realities of American racism. I challenge people to think about the Great Migration. This was on of the largest migrations in human history. Black people were fleeing unspeakable racial violence in the US to move to other places in the US that have the worst track records for police brutality. The Great Migration ended a mere 50 years ago, which means, if the US is "civilized", it's only been that way for a short time. Race defined life for more people than many pseudo intellectuals on the subject have the tolerance to speak about. They would rather make "racists" out of people who want progress on the issue.

The public school system gave me the confidence to homeschool my kids by the time my oldest was in grade 3. It's such a mess. Teaching white guilt to my white kid really ticked me off. I come from hell. A lonnng line of extreme poverty, crime, all kinds of abuse. And I still developed a moral compass and sense of responsibility for my actions. IMO it's racist to give someone a free pass because of the color of their skin. It's so belittling. In my youngest son's kindergarten class there was a boy (who happened to be black) that would aggressively tackle the other kids, including my son, and grab hold of their necks and choke them. The school wouldn't do anything about it because his mom screamed about racism and lawsuits.

My girlfriend works from home for the Canadian government. She has had two very long sessions of "anti-racism" training. I love her and want to protect her, and it makes me mad that she has to succumb to this. She doesn't really have a choice. During the first session she kept her camera off but for the second session they were told that they had to have their cameras on "for their own safety". Which of course is B.S. She feels like she can't speak out without jeopardizing her job and making things bad for herself. Other people say they "enjoy" it and "look forward" to it but that's b.s. too they're just afraid. What can I do?

What struck you is the underlying classification by group, which is one way that this rhetoric gets constructed, but what strikes me is the assumption and tacit acceptance that acting out brashly in accordance to the compassionate feelings will yield unconditional positive outcomes, which is how this rhetoric gets acted out. And I deeply share their concern about the plight of those this means to help. That does not mean that these actions will help them. Why is there no place for epistemic prudence in that movement?

The problem with what you're interpreting here as a denial of agency is not that people don't have agency, but that arguments about black peoples' choices has been consistently enlisted to denigrate them as inferior, worthy either genetically or culturally of the discriminatory practices that separate them to begin with. It's a feedback loop that has been operant since the West Africa slave trade took over from the Islamic slave trade in the 16th century.
