Judith Durham's biography is named after this song, which she wrote with her friend David Reilly. The video is from 'The World of The Seekers' TV special (1968 - now available on a DVD with 2 other specials, including this song & 47 others! - www.theseekers.com.au/merchandise). I've used the original audio (from 1967), to enhance the clip so that it plays at the correct speed / pitch and in stereo. More videos from Judith and The Seekers on the playlists below:

What really sets her apart is she doesn't have to slide into any note (pitch) high or low. Judith is just spot on every time:)

I’m 72 now and have enjoyed the Seekers since the mid 60’s. There’s nothing wrong with bucking the trend, who wants to be a sheep following everyone else. Be yourself, enjoy what YOU like.

@Gakguk Awe Some people might say that you're an "old soul", which is a compliment.😊 My daughter was an old soul at a young age, (perhaps due to being an only child, mostly being around adults). Now she's almost 30 & likes a mixture of artists, but is more "into" the Fifties scene of music, Rockabilly Dancing, seeing live bands perform, including Elvis Tribute Artists & the whole Pin-Up scene. Everyone's allowed to like whatever music, movies, clothing, sports ... (etc) that THEY like. If everyone was the the same, we might as well be clones and that would make for a Very Boring World. Be glad you're a bit different than many who are the same age. As the others get a bit older, they might end up liking similar things to you! It's not always easy being (or thinking) differently, but the whole idea of being "normal" is ridiculous. Someone once said to me "define normal". What's normal for one person, is weird for another. Keep on Being Yourself. 😊

I don’t think that any song that Judith Durham sings shows off any better the utterly staggering beauty of her voice than this song “Colours Of My Life” which she co-wrote. William Morris below says, “I feel blessed the lord gave me ears to hear her singing”. I know just he feels!.

They have a sound and style that slips into your heart and stays. Beautiful people with beautiful talent - no need to be flamboyant. Their style was enough to hold you.

We have heard great female pop singers with powerful and beautiful voices, such as Linda Ronstadt, Agnetha Faltskog (Abba), Karen Carpenter, Ann Wilson (Heart), Carole King, Olivia Newton-John, and others. But no one seems to be able to do what Judith Durham was able to do with her vocal power, pitch, purity, poise, resonance, range, emotion, grace, simplicity, effortless delivery, transcendent, heavenly sublime tonal quality, and overall luminous stage presence. Judith left her listeners awestruck with every performance. The angelic wings of her voice allowed the audience to soar with her to the deepest blue of heaven's skies. Truly missed, inimitable, and irreplaceable

Colours of my life has become my favourite Seekers song, perfectly demonstrating the group in peerless harmony and, as always, Judith Durham is simply compelling. Impeccable strings, indescribeably beautiful and unique harmony, great visual appeal and stage presence, and then there is Ms. Durham, her song, her personality, and her voice, above all else. Judith had some negative press about her homespun, healthy look from those who looked to the then- current 'waif' trend as the be all to end all. Said she was too short, not thin enough. Made her own stage outfits, no glamour. In the end I think it got to her and she departed to concentrate on her true love, jazz.

It’s obvious to me that she is/was a gift from God. This group was not coincidence. God blessed her with an incredibly beautiful voice and wonderful personality to go with it. This song, more than any other, proves how pure her voice is. I have always enjoyed her singing as has my Dad. Every man in Australia wanted to marry her. When my Dad passed away, we played The Carnival Is Over at his funeral and Eriskay Love Lit as well. I visit him on the anniversary of his death to play some of The Seekers' songs to him. Such a pity, a beautiful lady as her, has to spend her life alone, since her partner passed away from Motor Neurons disease.
