The Seekers - Georgy Girl (1967). Ashtyn&Jon REACTION

The purpose of me requesting they react to songs like these is just to expose them to music they may or may not have heard before, to expand their horizons and to sate my curiosity over whether they will like them or not.
I am responsible for the song choices, what I choose to request so if want to complain about that then that's fair game but if want to complain about Ashtyn or Jon's reaction just remember this is not their channel and by proxy it is very unlikely they will read your comments unless I personally pass the message on next time I speak to them...however I have zero interest in passing on any vindictive, rude or spiteful comments.
They do these for me and I just post many of them here in case other people might also be curious about what they think of these songs too after they send me the videos and I have watched them myself. As mentioned this is not their channel, if you wish to visit their channel it can be found listed below.

This video just got hit by a partial block by RU-vid, the only country it is blocked in is the US meaning it can no longer be viewed in the US unless use a VPN/IP masking service. The blocked portion of the video highlighted in the copyright notice within my RU-vid channel management covers about 1/3rd of the song so I will have likely mute that portion to unblock it. Because it is a substantial portion of the song and since it isn't a highly viewed video plus only 22% of the people who watched this video prior to the block were from the US I have decided to put off taking this one down and re-uploading a new edited version for now, I probably will do so later though when have more free time on my hands.

This video is from a concert at the Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne, Australia. It was attended by 200,000 people which still makes it the biggest concert ever for the southern hemisphere. Not many people would know that this little folk band from Australia were the highest selling recording artists in 1966. Outselling the Beatles and Rolling Stones ( yes I'm a fan). Nice bit of information, The base player Ethol Guy was an advertising guru in 1963 and a 19 year old Judith Durham (singer) came to work as his secretary and before long was fronting his band The Seekers. Love her voice and their music.

Where was the reaction? The Seekers are legendary! This was a huge hit back in the 60's and was the theme song from the movie. Judith Durham has an incredible voice and they seemed more interested in her hair. Sad.

She is tiny and has a very strong voice, she is a concert pianist. Last year they did a farewell performance of "We are Australian." Earlier last century, women often put shapes called bun pieces under their hair to give it volume, this however was the 60's and women "teased," or combed sections of hair backwards, to get knots in it, to hold it in clumps for extra height, then placed it with bobby-pins and combed the top layer smooth over it. Applied a lot of hair-spray and eye-liner. Another popular hairstyle had a similar base, then huge curls bobby-pinned over it called the bee-hive, around half as high as Marge Simpsons hair. Combing out all the knots later was not fun, this was very hard on the hair, ladies talked about "split-ends" which was often the result of the damage they did, to their hair.

The younger generations have no earthly idea of all the good music that they don't know about from the late 1950's, through the 60's and 70's and even into the early 80's. It really was a golden age of pop music, country music, hard and soft rock. Instruments were real, voices were genuine with no autotune and talent was amazing. I remember "Georgy Girl" very well. It was so popular and such a catchy tune, that I can remember ordinary people whistling it in all walks of life. I miss that music; but at least it is on youtube. I just wish there were artists today who were comparable.

Check out a Norwegian child prodigy named Angelina Jordan. She was born in 2006 and is now 15. She began trying to sing at 18 months old with a Whitney Houston song. She fell in love with old school jazz (Billie Holliday, Etta James, etc) from the time she was a toddler. With her grandmother's help, she actually began researching and learning jazz at age three! There are YT videos of her singing "Hurt," Tom Jones' "I Who Have Nothing," and Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" in her Norwegian school's sound studio at age SIX! She auditioned for Norway's Got Talent at age 7 with Billie Holliday's "Gloomy Sunday," following with beautiful renditions of Nancy Sinatra's "Bang, Bang" and the old classic "Summertime," winning the talent contest shortly after turning 8! She's on most all social median platforms, has five original songs she's written and performed between ages 11 & 15, and has covered more than 130 songs by former and current artists across several genres (Sinatra, Presley, jazz greats, Houston, Winehouse, Adele, Louis Armstrong, Bobby Vinton's "Mr. Lonely," James Brown's "Man's World," and so many, many more!). Angelina is truly a child / teen phenomenon who is slowly re-introducing the world to much of the great music of bygone eras. She does not use auto-tune and fancy gadgetry. She is magical in her voice and how she is able to channel and evoke emotional pathos way beyond her 15 years. If you're not already familiar with her, I think you will really enjoy being smitten with "Angel-ina dust" from this "Princess of Jazz." She signed with Republic Records last year at age 14, has released a couple of original singles with them, and will be releasing an album in the near future. She has an "Angelina Jordan Official" channel and an "Angelina Jordan Cover" channel on YT, and an Angelina Jordan Fan Club on Facebook. By the way, her background story, her family life, her strong values, empathy, and compassion for people, kindness and humble personality are already almost legendary.

Notice how they both look bored even though Ashytn said Judith Durham had an incredible voice. Nothing phases the current generation. In my time, if we had seen such glassy eyed bored expressions on young people, we would have said that they were "stoned." And it doesn't take a genius to figure out how Judith Durham's hair is fixed. She just has it brushed to her left side. And they can't even figure that out, although they do seem to think it is enough of a point to stop the music for a discussion regarding it. If they are the future, we are in BIG trouble!

Yes, but unfortunately with the younger generation they are more concerned about appearance than talent. And sometimes I don't think they'd know good music and/or a beautiful voice if it hit them on the head. Think about what they consider music today. That alone should tell you that they don't have a clue; but they DO almost always have one or more tattoos! After all talent or ability is not as important as having a tattoo.

Yes it is strange to be talking about Judith’s hairstyle, but seen as though we’re on the subject, what she has to keep it in place is a big black clip that goes kind of diagonally across the back of her head.
