Wow! So well done with the 40,000 year history of the original inhabitants to the variety of people's who became Australians touched my heart to tears. Especially Judith Durham's strong but elegant voice with The Seekers, a perfect choice for this song. I love the beauty of variety in nature and peoples. Judith Durham, born Judith Mavis Cock, July 3, 1949 - August 5, 2022 (age 79) - My heart awakened in the 1960s when I first heard The Seekers, with Judith at the vocal helm, sing "I'll Never Find Another You" and "Morningtown Ride" - and several decades later, "I Am Australian". How can I be sad? God shared an angel with us for 79 years! Thank You, God, for the wonder of Judith's heart and voice! She was born with asthma and at age four she caught measles, which left her with a life-long chronic lung disease, bronchiectasis. I'm afraid that this song represents the history of Australia only. New Zealand has its own history of which it would be very proud. We are two separate countries, so having the same National Anthem that only represents one is quite unfair. I would dearly love it to be our Australian anthem though, as it incorporates many stories that relates to our pasts.🇦🇺💖

I live just off a street called 'Billabong Drive'. Due to to horrific floods we've been enduring for far too long, we literally had a billabong next to this street. Although, it was large enough to be called a lake! Luckily, most of it has dried up, but understand the naming of this street now. I also saw Neil Diamond when he returned to Australia after such a long break back in the 90's. A most wonderful experience!💖

I came here as an American migrant to Aus. 6 years on, the country I love is so divided with each state closes its borders. Bickering in midst of a pandemic. Sad. I visited Perth & Fremantle, Western Australia in September of 1986 when I was on my final navy cruise. Had I would have moved my late wife of 31 years who was from the Philippines & our 3 children moved us to Australia, I would have chosen the greater Perth area because it reminded me so much of my home in the San Diego area. I was very much at home there.

They have a great body of work. Lead singer Judith Durham AO, has the most hauntingly beautiful voice; our national treasure.

Today is Saturday, August 3, 2019. I'd never listened to this song until the first of this week. I've been seeing "thumbnails" for it on RU-vid for quite some time, but I've never clipped on any of them until around the first of this week. I don't know why I never have clipped on them; but I just never have been curious about them. But around the first of this week, I said to myself, "Oh what the hell?" I'd just never been curious about clicking on any of them. I'd never heard the song before. Well, around the first of this week, like I said earlier, "What the hell?" And I clicked on one of these thumbnails for this song. Personally, I believe this should be Australia's National Anthem. I believe that if enough of the people of Australia want this song to be there National Anthem, they can get it done. I've always loved Waltzing Matilda" and still do, but I think this beats "Waltzing Matilda". I've already listened to this song at least a dozen times this week. I just love this song.

Funny, I left Liverpool for Australia in 69 with every intention of going back. Done every job under the sun mostly in the bush in western nsw often with only daggy roos and lizards for company. Half a centuty, three wives, six kids and ten grand children later I keep telling myself I'll go back soon. Hear they've joined the Common Market.

I was born and raised Aussie, I've since moved to America and haven't been back in over 4 years. After watching and listening to this I cried and have felt more homesick then I ever have since moving to America. I really wish this was our national anthem as it tells our history and our heritage of our great land.

Strange coincidence. When I was 24 year old I had all documents ready for leaving Italy forever and start a new adventure in Australia. In my mind it was already my new Country , but my father died and the family asked me to stay with my mother.... I'm 69 now and I know that it wasn't the right decision. I spent some years in the States but I never left Italy forever. The funny think is that following Neil Diamond career on newspapers , television and networks I find as my favorite website just you and after few time I realized you are Australian...... The past come back.

My father left Italy for my mother when he was 22. He went to New Zealand and now we have lived in Australia for 15 years. You did a good thing for your family, he was the only one who left, his home town is Massafra in Puglia. You're Australian if you have it in your heart.
