For me we haven’t just “lost the greatest voice Australia has ever produced”. In my opinion we’ve lost the greatest and most beautiful female voice the world has ever produced. Some of her recordings I find so movingly wonderful that I get tears in my eyes listening to her. No other singer has ever had that effect on me and if you read the reviews of other people I am not the only one!.
How sad. I didn't know until just now that she had passed. I love her songs and music. I listen to it regularly in my car on the way to and from work. R.I.P. Judith. You may be gone but NEVER forgotten.
Has she really gone? That's the news I've been dreading for years, I knew it was only a matter of time. I'm going to miss her forever, she had the voice of an angel. truly heaven sent, and she sure looked just like an angel too. Did she have any descendants?
@@majorpygge-phartt2643 Yes, Judith has a sister called Beverley Sheehan who is also a singer and is now 81 years old. I know that Judith was born in Essendon in Melbourne, which as it happens is my Australian Rules Football team. Nicknamed "The Bombers". Judith's husband sadly died in 1994. There was a great programme on TV here in the UK about her life and how she got together with the rest of the Seekers. They had 2 No 1 hits here in the UK and many other top 5 hits. Their first No 1 hit in UK in Jan 1965 was "I'll never find another you" and in October 1965 "The Carnival is over" was also a No 1 hit here.
Interestingly, us Brits appreciated her a lot more than her fellow Australians who couldn't be arsed to report her death. Luckily for Judith, us Brits adored her and we still mourn her. She was lovely.
Totally agree. Judith Durham was an angel. His legacy is for us. Because a better world is possible. We will never forget his voice and everything he left us. ❤
Judith Durham wasn't just an ambassador for Australia but for the whole world. She had a voice yet to be equaled, from the UK we love The Seekers and we love you Judith
A number of reviewers have written that this song should be made Australia’s national anthem. I COULDN’T POSSIBLY AGREE MORE!. It’s an absolutely wonderful song and it would also be a fitting tribute to The Seekers and the late Judith Durham who had the most stunningly beautiful voice that I ever heard in my life.
I am Australian is a marvellous anthem, and it should become the new National anthem. It reflects today’s Australia, for it’s inclusive , cultural diversity should not be divisive…..
When I 1st heard this song as a new Australian I cried and cried. I came from Zimbabwe - we were definitely not “one” and as a child it was heartbreaking. This song still makes me cry. RIP a legend 🙏🙏🙏🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I am here in South Africa. I have recently obtained my Permanent Resident visa to Australia. Actually about to do the first entry requirement within the first year of obtaining it. But just staying a month. My heart still can't "give the towel in". I'm still fighting to believe my country can recover from the state it is in right now but it doesn't look good. It's basically on life support to put it bluntly. This song makes me cry because for me it represents the death of my country since it'll be a song of "my new country". Its strange but we all have differing experiences when we leave Africa (if I do). But apart from that this is a great song and singer!
Very sad to lose Judith she had an amazing voice. I am Australian should be our National Anthem, both of these songs make me very proud to live in this beautiful country and I believe bring us together when so many people are trying to divide us..
How could anyone from anywhere not love this? I am American born and bred, but this makes even me teary. Judith and the Seekers are a national treasure, congratulations Australia!
@@johnjarou2357: American also. I don't know why this song stuck with me, but I learned it in grade school 65 years ago and still remember most of the lyrics. This and "Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport".
The NFL should see this. A classy professional show by people who can actually sing. Beats any of the crappy Super Bowl halftime shows in the past 20 years
As a proud Englishman, I had tears in my eyes I loved the Seekers and Judith's voice was amazing. Great ambassadors for Australia and wonderful entertainers. RIP lovely Judith.
I'm a big fan from Mexico who loves the talent of Judith Durham and The Seekers and this song makes my ears get wet everytime I hear it. I'm really sad for her passing but at the same time I feel comfort because she still remains with all of us through her music and vibrant personality. FOREVER my admiration for Judith. Rest in peace.🙏🙏🙏🙏
Judith had a fantastic voice, totally unforgettable,so many Seekers songs have stuck in my mind down the years. She is a great loss to us all.RIP Judith!
I don't normally become emotional when celebrities die but I feel very emotional when hearing her beautiful voice, what a legacy she and the seekers have left us
True Australian icon and international treasure.God bless And thank you Seekers for such a beautiful music and Ms.Judith Durham I am sure you are entertaining God and the angels In Heaven🌹🙏🌈
I am not Australian...but after this song...WOW!...I am anxious to go to this beautiful continent. Makes you feel proud...a good feelin'. Thank you The Seekers for your beautiful songs.
They are a great group & yea,her voice is exceptional, my favorite song of theirs is " I'll never find another you" ! My husband & I both love it as it fits us, we met on a blind date 43 yrs ago on a little wood bridge 45 miles outside of a little town of 328 people in Wyoming. We listen to them often.
RIP, Judith, gone but never forgotten, I'm a proud Aussie and this gives me goosebumps every time I hear it, This should be our national anthem, she has one of the most unique voices you will ever hear.
Goose bumps from an Englishman living in Ireland...this is how music should sound ...real instruments, great harmonies..and words that mean something to someone...lucky Aussies
JUDITH DURHAM JESUS GAVE YOU THE VOICE OF AN ANGEL. EVERYTIME I LISTEN TO ANY SONG YOU SING I BREAKDOWN AND WEEP. THESE ARE TEARS OF JOY. THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER SINGER WHO CAN TOUCH THE SOUL LIKE YOU. WHEN THE LORD RETURNS I HOPE I GET TO SEE YOU SING. BLESS YOU FOR ALL ETERNITY.
And goosebumps from an American living near my nation's Capital. Now that I know what a swagman...a billabong...a jumbuck...and a billy is,hearing this rendition of Waltzing Matilda makes me think that I was an Aussie in a previous life! :-)
If the atmosphere before the RWC Final in 2003 wasn’t rocking enough, when they played this Waltzing Matilda before the anthems, the entire stadium was was singing along, what an emotion, totally unforgettable..
Goose bumps from a 78 year old Scottish, Irish mix in Seattle. Music like this will live forever. Soul food it is. No mystery, no political correctness, simply raw emotion. God grants us longevity in part to hear songs, singers and bands like this one.
That’s definitely OUR NATIONAL ANTHEN !!!!! 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🥂 Been in this beautiful country since I was 5yrs old… I’m definitely an Aussie. I was taught that song in primary school, & so proud singing it out loud 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Like many many Australians over the years, I was born somewhere else but migrated here for a better life and that's exactly what I got. I am, you are, we are Australian. Make this the national anthem... Good onya, The Boomerang Biker.
