The Sejong Experience: Finally A Good Ship 

I'm glad they pushed out this line to combat the overwhelming pushing meta. The game was getting too exciting and dynamic, needed a tone down.

There's something I want to point out about the CV strikes starting at 12:25, particularly the rocket planes. If you watch the AA going off at rocket planes, you see it turns off after the strike is initiated. The planes get immunity in probably the most critical moment with AA. It's especially bad for Nakhimov who gets really long rocket aim time (long immunity time) and entire squadrons move away immediately afterwards.

Atlanta class was a purpose built AA cruiser, crap ton of dual purpose 5" guns and ultimately integrated radar direction and fire control PLUS proximity fused AA shells. In short, it ought to be a floating "no fly zone". But, hell, I should stop bothering with reality because WG sure as shit never has.

Looks like another line where anything before Tier VIII is underwhelming as WG desperately tries to force you to a) pay for Premium, and b) populate cannon fodder Tiers for 'Super' ships.

I really like this series grinding the tech tree and showing compilations of various games rather than just one game. good production value

I grinded this ship yesterday and honestly I am not too happy with it. Not because the ship is necessarily bad, but rather because it has way too many downsides for my taste. Now that subs are out, you get half of each team being subs/DDs, and without Hydro, Sejong is vulnerable in her smoke. To be honest in most cases it feels like the smokes are working against you because if your team doesn't spot, you can find yourself with 3 enemies 5km close to you after your smoke runs out. The other problem I have but I guess the balancing factor is the velocity. The shells fall so slow that it feels like you're watching a stop-motion animation. They are nothing like Smolensk or even Mino shells. And finally the abysmal 30k health that gets blapped in one BB salvo.

So a light cruiser gets 32mm plating, but Yoshino for some reason is covered in just 30mm. Good job WG.

I was lucky in that the very first Pan-Asian Bundle was the Sejong. It is a fun and pretty strong ship, but obviously best played with div-mates for spotting. It can certainly hold a flank very well with those torpedoes.

Just got this ship this week and been a lot of fun building it up. It's very fun to play when the big boys push in and feels like a swiss army knife of light cruisers as it has smoke, heals which for a light cruiser are absolute gold, defensive AA can drops bunches of planes near you, HE starts fires very easy, and those torp volleys are just incredible when battleships and cruisers push in. Last night, I dropped an almost full health Kearsarge incredibly fast with a couple volleys of torps and those those ships are incredibly tanky. Guns do suffer at long ranges as the arch's are scrapping the moon and feels like it takes forever to come back down.

Appreciate you putting out so much content man. It's my morning ritual to finish off a pot of coffee while watching a PQ video.

I have a full torpbuild on this and it is very fun. You need to be carefull ofc but very rewarding to blap bbs for 70% of their hp

really neat how Sejong uses Montana secondaries as the main guns, those wide, boxy turrets look nice

IMO the main strength of this line is its ability to fire in support of friendly dds, from map positions that aren't normally viable for smokeless CLs. By occupying these positions, you can shoot at hiding holes that red dds like to use because they're normally safe from enemy fire in them.

hum, I do wonder with Jinan and Sejong (also Austin). In which world can a light cruiser have an outer plating as thick as one found on BB (we all know which one have such outer poor armor for BB). Anyhow I don't think this line was a good idea with how much they can punish an active gameplay. Or as an ex-CC pointed out, HE spam is just a band-aid on another band-aid on another band-aid. Also regarding the fact pointed out at 13:03 . I think that the current system (that WG will never change because of the sunken cost fallacy) is even not fun for CV players, if they get caught by a flak and get their whole squadron wiped out (I think many of us will be glad they don't have it anymore) but to a CV player it's a not so fun experience

Sadly, it doesn't have airdropped depth charges and a legendary commander (Yi Sun Sin released as a basic commander, yikes) which makes it slightly less interesting.

As new design hits the game one thing gets very clear, at least for me. They just throw in designs with nothing but hope they will work out in some way. To keep the grind and the pay to early excess going. Its obvious to most players with open eyes and experience in random batlle and ranked, that a lot of ship arent really feasable. They could be, but they arent. As if there is no one with the knowledge of maps or meta (due to mechanics and actual mismatching meta ships against off meta etc.) and the reality the form in the different game modes. But at least some people seem to have fun with it and pay money like mad so i guess it wont change. Still....i dont think the random joe will grind that tree or if he does get shit on. Either by the enemy or his own team....

Don’t need no DakkaBoats at Tier 7. I understand that I will eventually forced down to Tier 5 by Wargaming foolishness, but I am not looking forward to it.

Current WG strategy for releasing a new line summarized: Release a new line in early access , encourage spending doubloons just to play the ships available for free later, make them OP until free access ends then nerf them when they get released to grind , make all the ships crap in the new line except T-10 !!!

no, the sejong is garbage, it only works, if the other team are stupid enough to push into you, and even then that's not always the case

Couldnt disagree more with 90% of this video. This ship is a disaster and a half, it is one of, if not THE most difficult ships to play in the game, you have to be mistake proof or your dead. EXTREMELY unforgiving. YOu have DD hit pts in a CA sized hull, with a citadel that anything in the game can hit from almost any angle. A mouse fart in the wind on mars will take half your hit pts, if your lucky. The guns are DD sized guns that again, are pretty much garbage damage unless you manage to get alot of fires. Your only hope is to either smoke or use terrain for cover, both have problems (players torping the smoke, CV's if your camping rocks.) The maneuverability is a nightmare, so is its detection radius, so you get spotted by EVERYTHING thats in range of your guns or torps. It takes forever to hit full reverse or fwrd so thats ho help either. The ONLY plus this ship line has is its torps, which IMO, are not even worth the agony of playing this disaster waiting to happen. If you like torps on a CA, play a mino, at least you get good DPM from the guns as well as good torps, and its much more forgiving than this garbage. Perhaps when this video was made you could run around and torp everything without getting your ass kicked in the first 3 minutes, but you try that John Wayne shit now your going to the bottom, end of story.
