I never known a show... Where one moment your laughing so hard... Then in a split off a moment in floods off tears... Touching on poinent moments in life.... Ricky Gervais truly is a special talent... I regular watch the whole series again and again!! Please make After Life 4
This ending makes me tear up. Rick Gervais might’ve confirmed that Tony does not commit suicide at the end but it still makes me cry. This series is very beautifully written, it can have its funny moments but it can definitely have its moments that make you want to cry.
I think he does. The way Lenny looks at his camera with this look of perplexed shock after taking Tony’s picture - he saw something … he saw something. For Tony -and a lot of us - I think life had just become too painful to endure anymore. The tears of missing people just took their toll as the numbers of friends and family and animals had just grown to much to bare. I can understand.
To me it was that Lemmy was confused that Tony saluted and walked off. He knows he has suicidal tendencies. The audience sees Tony thinking back on his memories with Lisa and it ends with her in the ocean coming at Tony to come join her. So to me Lemmy is looking at the photo concerned that might be the last picture he has or Tony. But then we realize that’s probably not the case because the dog dies first.
I suppose the whole idea is that it's all about opinion and personal view points but for me... I think as the whole basis of the show is about depression, when he shouts 'smile' to take the photo and Ricky smiles...he then looks back at the photo to see that he isn't smiling after all. This reflects the fact that people suffering can put on a smile and a facade and that is the whole reason we don't see the real suffering they feel. That contradiction between the persona shown to others, to the real feelings of the person that is hidden. Again tho just my take and an amazing and powerful ending!

I have loved this song ever since I first heard it ! But I feel she sings differently in this After Life Series ? Am I right ? Can anyone tell me ? 🙏🏻 It’s anyway another Best of version though ❤❤❤
He didn't. He continued to suffer and reminisce about his wife in season 3. However, after that, he accepted the loss and moved on. He became a kind person and started to enjoy every moment of life. Because he knew it would be quick, and eventually, it would be his turn to no longer be in this world. As Mrs. Anne said in SS3, "There are angels in this life, and having become an angel, we must do kind things while we are still alive." Tony chose to become an angel.
